The tourist´s guide to boardgames
- Geir Erik Ø(Geirerik)Norway
When I am visiting other parts of the world, it is quite satisfying to bring back a local game. The problem is that it can be difficult to know what you should look for. After reading about the history of chess I now know the odd looking chess pieces I saw in Thailand was for an old chess variant played in Thailand. Why didn´t I buy it? The answer is I didn´t know what it was.Recommend
So the aim for this list is to give some ideas for boardgames that can be a good souvernir if you visit a given country. You should never have to bring back home normal chess again!
In a international world you can get almost everything everywhere, but the game should have local roots to the given country, and not be very common all around the world.
I would also be greatful for all help I could get on this as my knowledge is limited.
