Three friendly gamers humored my request to begin the night with some light dexterity before the heavier stuff began. I was happy to get this game, which uses basically the same components as AttrAction but is more tense, back to the table. This was the only game Bruce got to play this evening, but at least it allowed him to scratch another letter off of his alphabet challenge.

We played with two copies of the game together, and took turns placing the triangles that form the board before beginning.

Trevor held an early lead for a few rounds, until one very unfortunate chain reaction left him with seven magnets in hand when Matt went out. Matt was the big loser on the next round with eight left, and then Trevor was stuck with five in the final round to hand Matt the victory.

Matt had 2 special island tiles for a full 18 points. Mark was cash-starved for much of the game. Dan had the most noblemen, and sacrificed 5 points for coins at a key point in the game.

Bruce set up and taught this game just in time to be called into work, so he wasn't able to play with us. Next time.

The Casey family hailed from Salt Lake City, the Maniscalcos from Ames, the Reyniers from Billings, and the Chaffers from Shreveport.

The Casey family scored a bunch of points from destinations, and was the only family to score points from Adventure card missions. All but the Chaffer family were individually very happy by game end, even though the Chaffers got back home first. The Maniscalcos and Chaffers both scored a lot of points via photography.

Hey! Dan finally got to play Splendor!

Matt waited way too long to pivot into victory points, but sure did have an impressive assortment of gems by the end. Dan did the most reserving of cards. I focused on efficiency, never reserving cards nor taking fewer than three chips on a turn. This was a house of cards that could have collapsed with one or two different blocking moves by other players, but I lucked out.

Tony had powerful ships, but they were too slow and too far away from the action.

Much discussion about the sticky dice ensued.

We used the Osaka side of the board. Much to Dan's chagrin, we scored points for stations and remote destinations as they were achieved rather than waiting until game end to score.

The card tableau had no additional train cards come up, only one action card that granted money, and only one particularly slow mechanism for getting rid of waste without recycling turns.

Dan won with only Normal Trains and Garages for money. He picked up a lot of extra Lay Rails cards, and finished the game by using all of his track. Mark was able to capitalize on a lot of Station Expansions, but eventually found himself boxed into the corner. I pivoted into big money and buying building cards, which granted me a dozen points but not enough to win.

New to Tony. He caught on quickly. Matt rushed out the customers so that he could place the baron optimally for one big score. I was able to come back into the lead by scoring 28 points with my 4x district scoring.

No official score sheet recorded. The following are Tony's comments.

Quote:
Rampage
Trevor 25, Matt R 21, Tony 14 (scores are close, but maybe not exact)

Matt's breath weapon was devastating, but also allowed hordes of meeple to escape our bellies. This caused him to have indigestion on several occasions, puking up previously eaten meeple.
Tony's asthmatic breath weapon was pathetic. His teeth were knocked out pretty quickly, meaning that he ate fewer people than were available on several occasions. He ate the most red meeples, however, which was his goal card.
Trevor had 2 full rainbows of victims, and on the last turn Matts devastating breath weapon blew a truck onto a building, giving Trevor 5 extra points, and the win

Fun, but mostly for the joy that it brings Matt to be causing so much damage with his massive lung capacity!

Tony
