July has started and the soccer world championship comes to an end.
(Gratz Netherlands, btw... Great job on sending England home )

Soccer is actually a pretty simple game: 22 guys try to kick a ball for 90 minutes and when it is all over the Germans have won

I guess, though, not everyone here watches soccer. Some of you are spending their time more wisely. You lot, go ahead and tell us:

Yup! my son and built some Lego ships, then I photographed them, made up some appropriate text, and we've got a very slick looking space-themed mini Dominion-like game!

( and before anyone asks, no, I won't but publishing or emailing the files to anyone, cuz that would just be "stealing" from the designer of this cool little game )

I whipped up a set of these to add to my collection until I can purchase it. I'm intrigued (ha!) to get it to the table.

I have been busy so far this month. I made a a black-n-white copy of Pleasant Prospect Farm (keep it in a tin), loved it so made a full-color copy. I keep this copy (made on card stock and sleeved) in a "re-themed" crayon box.

Also in the box is a copy of "Brave," a homemade re-theme of the upcoming BraveRats (which looks awesome). I tweaked the titles but kept the verbiage the same, based on the Pixar movie.

I also put together a copy of Love Letter using Castle Lego pictures and using Lego "letter" tokens (made of card stock and "laminated" with tape. I keep this in a small Royal Stewart Tartan pouch.

Of course I also made a few more mats for Buccaneer Bones. I made a "Flogging Molly" pirate ship mat, a "First Navy Jack" map, a Lego "Red Beard's Ship" mat, a Lego "Shark, Kraken, Alligator" mat, and a "Pirate Santa" mat. Most new maps are here: Buccaneer Bones Maps.

Oh, I also made a quick copy of Kick Bones, reworking it into a PocketMod. Didn't care for this game as it starts out awesome, but needs to tighten up the end game. It drags quite a bit.

I need to get off of Publisher, which will be easier that I am out of card sleeves. It is great to try out these games and I can't wait to get some money and buy some stock versions of these gems!

Edit: Now I am working on a copy of Worm Up! using glass beads. I will be out of town for a few days, so maybe I will slow down for a bit, maybe.

Edit2: OK, I have to stop, just made an Arr2D2 mat for Buccaneer Bones.

This seemed like a very easy project to print myself using images on SJG's own website and some work to make my own bidding boards that were at least functional (I need some photoshop lessons, I did mine in powerpoint and word). Will post pics of the finished result as I'm awaiting some .050 chipboard that I ordered from ebay.

I will be purchasing the anarchy expansion to get my set up to play with 6 players, so it made sense to just make my own version of the first expansion while I wait for the new one to come out, since you can't add them together and play with 8 players (I guess you could if you made some sort of hybrid board).

This was my first project, and I'm quite happy so far. Will update in a few days once things are mounted.

Finished my first PNP yesterday which was my copy of Red. I think it turned out well I sleeved and backed the printed cards with a card game I have/will never play.. The only thing that seemed to go wrong was some of my black ink was smudging. I printed onto 8.5x 11 glossy photo paper. Ill put a picture up when I get a chance.

Other than that it seemed on a few of the cards that I thought I had really straight cuts on the cards were still a bit too wide to go into the sleeved.. However I think this was my fault for choosing fit to paper.

I decided to redesign this remake of the classic game again. I am revising the rules & cut the number of tokens from 8 sheets down to 3 sheets now.

Tokens of the first sheet.

Just printed this out. I like the idea of a very small game with a large player count (4-12), but I am skeptical of the rock-paper-scissors mechanism and the fact that only zombies take turns. I can't judge until I try it, so I hope it goes well!

Started this one ages ago. It is nearly finished now. Just need a few charts and to re-affix the loose label on the box and spray a coat of sealant on it.

The tiles and most of the small chits are on medium weight black chipboard. The larger square Denizens and Monsters and circular Character markers are on wood pieces RIT dyed to match.
From gallery of dechca

No disrespect to Karim's art but i wanted full-blown pictures for the characters so i modified the character cards with some pictures i found after some extensive googleing.

I only worked on it when i felt like it. Also took forever to get all the chits Todd felt obligated to make to cover every situation.

Did a six section folding board for it that turned out quite well except for one little missing slice. I tried to take a shotcut and it bit me in the butt.

I may make a couple nice tokens for Odin and Thor when i find the right art.

Some day I have to travel into Pittsburgh to Mr Sanders local game store or one of his gallery shows. All his stuff looks so nice and i only live an hour away.

Had problems with the paint on the box on this one but i am very happy with the tokens (Wood squares RIT dyed to the appropriate color). Had to enlarge the tokens a bit to fit the square so they overlap on the top track of the board but they do look nice.

My first six piece folding game board and it came out great.

I got an order from Printer's Studio today. First up is a deck of 224 miniature cards I re-designed for Dominion: Intrigue. I had to leave out a few options, and I left out the extra base cards, but 22 new kingdom cards in this size is pretty cool.

From gallery of Whizkid

With the recent coupon, this deck that normally would cost $16.14 was only $4.36 with free shipping - an amazing deal.

Next in the box was a deck for Dominion: Seaside. I left out the kingdom cards that require bits: Embargo, Island, Native Village, Pirate Ship; leaving 22 kingdom cards for my new tiny collection.

Now to put these sets into a nice box and organize them.

The 4 Coppers are fill-ins for the main set, where I had to leave 13 out.

Next up: Pocket Football! Again one of this games I discovered on this geeklist (thanks to tacoma_boy, Ender's review and Dominique's review @detafelplakt (dutch))... I wanted to bring a quick fun game to tonights game night and with the World Cup's final coming...

How did it end? Well, lets say I came home and ordered the game immediately. It was really, really fun.

From gallery of wensp

And for the match? Germany beat Argentina by 3-2. Argentina led by 0-2, but Germany did come back in the second half with a penalty, a fantastic volley an amazing header in the last seconds of the game... A sign for things to come?

Edit: pictures added. I went with the same design as tacoma_boy: it makes it more easy to see which dice you need next...

One of the great things about coming late to this party is that all you fab folks have documented many interesting builds over the years; I've been plumbing the depths of this list to find games which I'm capable of constructing at my 'apprentice' skill level and, moreover, games which I'm interested in playing!

ZimP was already on my radar and - even as green PnPer - I was aware of Kwanchai Moriya's reputation for gorgeous graphic work. So the Kwanchai redesign was a chocolate-in-my-peanut-butter kind of build for me.

I printed the cards on card stock and the tiles on label paper affixed to the the chipboard from an old notepad. When I went to laminate the lot, I noticed a 'tell' on the back of the cards so I glued a sheet of construction paper to the back (pre-laminate) which had the added benefit of giving the cards extra heft.

Everything is awaiting cutting - to be done once I can reclaim the dining room table

Note: I've begun uploading images from my builds; some of my 'inaugural' builds from last month already have accompanying photos with the rest, including July's builds, coming as fast as I can upload them and clear them through GeekMod.
Update: All the current photos are up and attached to their corresponding entries, including this one.

Just finished my first printing of my redesigned Dead Drop.

I tried to make the theme center around the Confidential File Folder.
- Cardbacks are the closed folder with some info peeking out.
- Card faces are the opened folder with the pages visible under the 'Photographic Evidence"
- Instructions are the folder wide open with the contents strewn on the desk.

I sleeved the cards for now until I can get a good set of cards made.

So I took the PnP Version of Yarmaster Express and went a little wild with it.

Made all the cards into 1.5" tiles.
Made up some of my own Caboose tiles.
Made a 6th car type (Orange Passenger) to expand to 6 players.(havent teste yet, might break gameplay)

I still need to darken the cut edges and seal the edges with some glue.

regular paper glued to 80lb cardstock on both sides. some warping from the glue.

(I need to invest in a cutting mat before my clipboard turns to sawdust)

This game looks awesome, can't wait to try it out.

My new Wildcars (3 in the deck with */* value) and the Caboose that makes them have a value.

jumping on the Mandom bandwagon here as well with a pulp SF redesign

From gallery of dumarest123

tried to find some strong female images (not an easy thing to do in 50-60s pulp SF artwork) to make the game a bit more inclusive

a little Tom Baker - Doctor Who nod as well in there for fun
