There are quite a few games I own that I tend to borrow the components for, to use in other games (usually print & play ones). And some of them I do this for, I do it more than I play those games! Seems crazy, but oh how useful it is!

What games do you rob bits from to use in other games?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game! But, it is also my most-stolen-bits-from game. I use the cubes for a LOT of print & play games (most recently Tiny Epic Kingdoms and Tiny Epic Defenders). I use the ship markers as player markers in various games (Harbour is a recent one - see my quick playthrough vid). And I've been known to use the crew/alien meeple for other games too!

The [plastic] gold coins in the version of Citadels I have are lovely, so they get used as currency in a variety of games!

I use the meeple for various other games (often replacing dull cubes that are meant to represent people). But I also use the score track to keep track of player currency where you would otherwise need a lot of coins - my home-made copy of Machi Koro, for example!

The large grey money discs are well used for other games that use currency, as there are quite a lot of them, and my kids like using them as they're nice and chunky. Most recently used in my print & play copy of Bedtime Heroes

I love this game. And I love the dice it comes with - they have a really nice weight to them. So I often steal them for other games - most recently, Bedtime Heroes.

I love Command and Colors but I use the card holders from the expansions far more often than I play the actual game. When my son was younger, the card holders were very useful for any game that required him to manage a hand of cards. I still use them for CDG and COIN wargames and other card games where it's helpful to review a number of card options with a significant amount of text.

I've played maybe 3 games of Settlers ever. The bits in Settlers get a lot more use - I've used them as buildings in my home-made copy of Province, and as ferries in the Carcassonne: The Ferries expansion.

Hmm, I can't find an image of the wooden ships from the original Piratenbucht. Anyways, I've played Piratenbucht a grand total of three times - and I'm fairly certain there will never be a fourth - but the ships have lived on in dozens of 7th Sea games. I mark the ship card with the matching short cylinder (score marker).

Some folks will say I should have kept my Pirates of the Spanish Main flats for this purpose, but I prefer the more sturdy and colorful wooden pieces.

the coins in this are insanely well made. they are metal and the perfect size. the cost of the game online is close to $50 but I have a knack for finding these at garage sales and am always up to selling the coins out of them to help improve other games components! The ships are pretty neat too and the little "rubies" and "saphires" are quality too.

Depending on the version, you can pick up nice little minis/pieces for things as well as dice. You can also nicely pimp out a copy of Wizard's Quest using Risk pieces.

And since this is a popular yard sale/thrift store item....

I think I only played the game once, and didn't care for it, but knew the pieces could be put to use.

We do still play Eclipse - but with sooooooo many cubes in 6 different colors no less (7 if you include the purple ones!) Eclipse has moved to the top of the list of the cannibalized games in my collection. In fact, right now it's red, green and yellow cubes are being used as resource trackers in Tiny Epic Kingdoms and we use the discs with matching cubes for the heroes in Tiny Epic Defenders - along with multiple black cubes to track the region threat and Epic Foe health.

The only challenge is we have to remember that if we want to bring Eclipse anywhere to play, TEK and TED have to come along too! (Although, those two games usually do go along anyway)

resource bits from this are currently in use along with Carcassonne Meeples for the PnP Tiny Epic Kingdoms. once the real thing comes, they'll be back, but probably in use for my own game design ideas.

When we need cubes we steal them from this game.

We have used them for Via Appia to mark the section of roads built and used them for Betrayal at House on the Hill to keep track of the attributes of each character.

Lots of cubes in this great game.
