The latest patch 1.2 came out yesterday. It did not contain any of the updated hero cards from patch 1.1, nor did it contain any of the new heroes.

Since we are likely 3 months away from the possibility of these cards being updated, I propose creating a geeklist entry for every card that needs an update. I am happy to create the card based on community feedback (blade dance keeps coming to mind) so we can play with a card that makes sense to all.

Personally, I want to print out at printerstudio and replace the outdated 1.1 cards. I do NOT intend to create ALL the hero cards for the Skaald, Spriggan and Trickster as those need official updates. Any "base" hero card is fair game however. I will start from the Patch 1.1 release.

I propose we use this geeklist to capture all the hero cards that need an update.

Here's the official 2.0 version of blade dance on the left and my (updated 07/06/15) printerstudio version on the right.

What should the new card say?

Here's a whole thread discussing blade dance. I don't think there's a consensus on how this card should read, however.

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1254031/blade-dance

I think we all agree on the following:

1) Counterattack keyword means you get a free attack from this card once you've been targeted and attacked by a monster.

2) Melee keyword means you use your melee weapon's dice pool when rolling your counterattack.

3) This card is an Interrupt (black movement panel on the left). This card increases your TN by 2 before you are attacked by the darkness therefore making you harder to hit.

The following information seems to cause the most confusion:

4) Cards that do "Damage: X" that allow multiple targets when playing Ammo, Rage, Faith, etc. all work the same. We may think of these "attack 1 target" not as unique targets, but as individual attacks. This means we can do multiple points of damage to a single target if we want.

If we look at the Hero Deck reference, the intent of this card becomes clear:

It should be noted that the Hero Deck reference is an excellent resource for assisting in interpreting the intent of these cards. I hadn't ever used and now that I've really reviewed can't imagine not having these printed out until mastering a hero deck. Sort of kicking myself for ignoring this reference until now.

To further illustrate how this mechanic works, let's take a simpler card as an example. Orion's Tears:

The card does 1 damage for every attack. For each ammo card played, we can attack 1 target within range. It is completely up to us how we distribute these attacks. With 4 ammo cards, we can attack 1 monster and do 4 damage. If we choose, we can target 4 monsters and do 1 damage. We roll attacks for each different monster.

FWIW, this is NOT how I've been playing. wow angry

My eyes have been opened and the Archer just got much more powerful.

Edit 7/2/15 - Changed to reflect the Base 2.0 card.
