This list is intended to list all the games played at the 1st Annual Golden State Game Expo held at Comic Quest in Lake Forest California: https://www.facebook.com/events/598007300311590/.

Speaking as an attendee, the Expo was quite a success. Many interesting gamers attending and shared their experiences with each other, including several game designers that were willing to show their new games.

Hopefully others will include the games they play.

Zombicide was the first game I played at the event. Three of us played two characters each while the game demonstrator taught us the game. This specific game was setup as a demo so that attendees could get a feel for the mechanics; the difficulty level was toned down to fit time constraints. Still, the game was enjoyable and definitely generated a sense of urgency as the zombie hordes began to grow!

My character, Josh, was lucky enough to get a rifle with a scope. This help a bit to reduce the horde from long range while NOT killing the other characters.

I was lucky enough to play a prototype game by Tim Fowers of Wok Star fame. The game was a cooperative game that was quite heavy on the collaboration side. The game generates a complex puzzle with many unknowns and rising tension as the game progresses. All the players (3 of us), including Tim, had to truly work together to achieve the game's goals. Still, we lost against the game.

I have intentionally not discussed the nature of the game and will leave it to Tim to discuss if he wishes to disclose it.

Patent Pending is my own creation. Several of us played through a game, more or less as a demo. Even though I designed the game, I was crushed by the new players. My portfolio of patents could not withstand the onslaught innovation!
