I love RPGs, I love PbFs, I also apparently love swamping myself in far too many at once. That means lots of time for dreaming up epic PbF plans and not so much time for actually acting them out. This is where those dream games are chronicled. They may not start in the next few weeks or even the next few months but they will be run eventually (probably). The games are listed in vague order of likeliness to run in near-ish future.

See one that strikes your fancy? Let me know! The more people are interested, the sooner I am likely to run it.

For a full list of PbF games (that I've GMed or played in) that have actually started see: Kezle's Ultimate List of All Play by Forum Games Ever! (or at least the ones I'm in)

God bless,
Kezle

"It is the year 891 of the Imperium that united the shattered isles of the cataclysm under one rule— all glory to his majesty the Immortal Emperor.

You work the ghost lines— the electro-railroad that passes through the ink-dark deadlands between cities. Spirits of the dead— free to roam the world since the gates of death were broken in the cataclysm— often get entangled in the powerful electrical field generated by the trains. Line bulls like you walk the length of the cars, magnetized boots clanking and breather-mask hissing, to clear the offending spirits with your lightning-hooks before they do too much damage."

It's an AW hack, the setting is awesome, and the rules are completely free. What more can you ask for? I GMed this once for the Newbie Initiative but there there was interest from veteran players and I plan to run it again (at some point). There are some rules wrinkles (the resolution is slightly different from standard AW) and I think it would work better with a grittier, much lower magic tone which is what I'll aim for next time.

Aiming to Start: Not before I finish up the newbie initiative game and play a few different PbFs.
Estimated Length: 3-5 months.

"Project Ninja Panda Taco is a collaborative story-telling game where each player, acting as a Mastermind, attempts to take over the world, while preventing their Nemesis from doing the same while Minions help whoever gives them the best loot."

I have already facilitated a PbF of this but it was such fun I hope to do it again (and again ).

Aiming to Start: It's been on the back-burner for a while so hopefully soon(ish)

"The sun and moon have disappeared from the sky. The worlds on the branches of the cosmic tree Yggdrassil have grown dark and cold. The gods and giants are on the brink of war. Mankind has descended into anarchy.

Welcome to the Age of the Sword... Welcome to Ragnarok!

Fafnir's Treasure is a standalone Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok saga that will bring 2 to 6 players deep into the dark age of Ragnarok. They will be engaged by the emissaries of the gods, and must avoid perils both known and unknown to find the most wondrous treasure of all – the legendary hoard of Fafnir the dragon!"

Ideally I hope to play this one first so it would be quite some time before I feel ready to run it. The battle system could prove too fiddly and/or slow for a PbF but something might be worked out.

Aiming to Start: Probably not for a while

"For a long time, we were at war with The Jackals. But now, we’ve driven them off, and we have this – a year of relative peace. One quiet year, with which to build our community up and learn once again how to work together. Come Winter, the Frost Shepherds will arrive and we might not survive beyond that. But we don’t know about that yet. What we know is that right now, in this moment, there is an opportunity to build something."

A map game in which you define the struggles of a post-apocalyptic community and attempt to build it up. The map part might be a little awkward but I think it could still work and I have seen a few PbFs of it already.

Not exactly a traditional RPG (or one that requires GMing) but it is designed for PbF and plays relatively quickly. Could be a nice game to slip in between others. Also the concept is too interesting to pass up.

Caravan Guards, Night Watch, At Ends, and the rest, they all look interesting. I wouldn't mind running/playing any or all of them.

Another John Harper game, they always looks so cool (not to mention they're free). But this is not for Lasers and Feelings as written. I actually want to try a hack of this I stumbled across while lurking on the Story Games forum. It is set in an alternate Celtic world with western-themed technology (for more info, possible tweaks, and the PDF see HERE).

I don't how it all would work (or if it would) and the setting will need a good bit of fleshing out (not a problem for me) but the concept is too cool not to at least try.

Aiming to Start: Probably not anytime soon

A low-fantasy mystery with lovecraftian overtones served up with a heaping side of creeping dread in a sandbox campaign that somehow manages to list nearly 200 NPCs and locations and yet still feel appropriately claustrophobic.

I have grand aspirations of someday running as a sprawling PbF (maybe even attempt my first campaign wiki, because all those NPCs would surely call for one). Could be epic or fall flat on its face. Somewhere in the back of my mind I dream of making this (even more) unnecessarily complicated by using the Les Ombres d'Esteren rules/setting. But that could end badly. Still, I'll dream.

Planning to Start: Not until I have a good chunk of time and dedicated players
(Overly Hopeful) Estimated Length: Probably at least a year
