Nathan was first to arrive, so we kicked it off with his first play of Medina. This was my first play against someone other than my kids, so I was curious to see how adult competition would compare. Nathan did quite well, but I still squeaked out a victory.
Seth managed to snag a copy of this at BGG.CON a few days ago. Adam joined us as we wrapped up final scoring on ZhanGuo, so we needed something for five players.
I must say that though it is thematically dry, the gameplay is certainly interesting. It pays homage to Steding's Hansa Teutonica in some slight regards, but stands on its own quite well. I definitely want to play again, though not sure it is a guaranteed "buy" on my part.
Adam stuck around for one more game, as the others had long drives back home.
I had never won at Imperial Settlers, but the cards just seemed to flow SO well for me tonight. I managed a 10-point win with the Romans (vs the Barbarians). Feels good to win, but even more satisfied to have a fun day gaming with friends.
