The Demise of Dr. Frankenstein!

Quote:
The Demise of Dr. Frankenstein is a unique worker placement game where the questionable accomplices and facilities available to you and your opponents change turn by turn. Each roll of the dice has the possibility of changing the dynamic of the game as you forge ahead with your plans while trying to interfere with the schemes of your opponents. Will you barter with the Trader for some gold, visit the Curator to calm down the villagers your opponent whipped into a frenzy, or take a trip to the Undertaker because-- well, the villagers are already mad anyways! Or maybe you’ll snag the first chance to buy some Officer cards to come along for a few rounds.

In the course of the game, you must improve upon your unconventional clinical skills with the help of your faithful ally Igor, fill your lair with hungry and horrifying creatures, collect valuable equipment for your lab, expand your facility, and lure more conspirators to aid you in your ghastly experiments. And while gold is a valuable resource for your nefarious ends, the most precious commodity around is fresh, Grade A human body parts! That’s where your friend, the Undertaker, comes in. But beware! When the villagers catch wind of your grisly business arrangements, they will be none too pleased.

In the end, when the townsfolk come bearing torches and pitchforks for the last time, will you meet your demise in a blaze of glory, having conquered life and death, or will you be just another nutjob with a lab full of spare limbs and torsos?

Space Slugs: A Card Game

Quote:
SPACE SLUGS is a fun and addictive card game for 2 to 6 players ages 7 and up. It plays in 5-20 minutes and takes about 60 to 90 seconds to learn.

Your spaceship has crash landed leaving seventy slugs stranded on the Desolate Moon.

Following a series of unanswered distress calls to the Slug High Council, You and the remaining Slug Officers are doubtful of any possible rescue attempts.

One option for survival remains - the only functioning escape pod.

THE OBJECTIVE: Recruit one of each of the five different slugs to activate the escape pod and flee the Desolate Moon.

THE CHALLENGE: The remaining Officers are also attempting to flee, and they will stop at nothing to activate the escape pod first by stunning, confusing, and eliminating your slugs, whilst recruiting their own.

Forged in Steel, a card driven strategy game for 2-4 players

Quote:
"Forged in Steel is a game of strategy and development set in Pueblo County, Colorado spanning the years 1890-1910. Known as 'The Pittsburgh of the West' for its steel mills, Pueblo was also at the center of an immense economic and cultural boom at the turn of the century. As a prominent local family, you must use your influence and strengths to build an empire and dominate the local economies. The paths to success are many, whether you wrest control of municipal development, commercial, mining, industrial sector, or some combination: the choice is up to you. Command your prominent local family and manipulate grand historical themes to your benefit."

Forged in Steel is a card driven strategy game, designed by Wade Broadhead, where players competitively construct a city and region together, closely intertwined but always in fierce competition. Each and every build changes the landscape. Depending on how an Era has developed, immigrants will arrive and locate willing employers or overwhelm the region sending it into riots which will potentially ruin all your hard earned successes. Players set the yearly “Headlines” which effect the development (and rules) of the region and play throughout the Era. Every turn has interesting decisions whether to use cards as events or for the points on each card defined as Municipal Muscle (MM). MM is the currency players use to buy, build, and seize structures on the game board. All events are beneficial, but players will find it important to balance events and MM to form strategies for the end game.

DRCongo: Hope out of Horror.

Quote:
The Democratic Republic of Congo is the nineteenth most populous nation in the world with enough natural resources to rival the productive capacity of most First World countries. From the Belgian administration of King Leopold II through the torrid times of independence and the horrors of two ‘Congo’ wars, DR Congo has seen its vast economic potential wax and wane and its citizens become some of the poorest in the world.

You will play the part of an Industrial Baron whose longing to see your country rise up and take its rightful place in the world economy is so strong that you will commit your best endeavours to combat insurgents and develop the industrial might of DR Congo - you bring Hope out of Horror!

Players build industries and expand a transport network of river, rail and roads. Oil, minerals and crops are produced and if sold via the Atlantic port of Matadi will reap rich reward. You will develop cities and harness the vast hydro-electric potential of the Congo river, to sell to the emerging urban areas.

The game itself is made up of four ‘layers’ and for ease of learning we have written the rules as four separate games, each of which can stand alone. In layer two Insurgents and Peace Keepers are introduced; in layer three the Government takes a role and in layer four International interests begin to have a strategic effect on the game play!

Tiny Epic Galaxies

Quote:
30 minute MICROGAME of Galactic Conquest for 2-4 Players! Develop your empire and colonize planets to create the most powerful galaxy!!

In Tiny Epic Galaxies, each player controls their very own galaxy! From which they will develop their empire by managing resources, expanding their fleet, colonizing planets, and exploiting their enemies' position.

The game runs on a clever dice combo-ing mechanic; players roll for their actions and choose the order in which to take them. This can lead to big "pay-off" turns, especially when combo-ed with planet abilities!

Throughout the game, players spend resources to upgrade their empires, re-roll unwanted dice, and even follow the actions of other players' dice!

Players will accumulate power (victory points) based on the level of their empire, as well as for successfully colonizing planets. When a player has reached a power of 21 or higher, the end of the game is triggered.

Empyrion - A Dystopian Card Game for 3-5 Players

Quote:
Empyrion is a deck building resource gathering card game in which 3-5 players compete as rival Scions in an effort to gain enough influence to declare themselves Grand Scion and win. Each turn players gather or commandeer resources, using them to shore up your faction strength by recruiting specialized citizens or building unique buildings on your faction board. Citizens provide strong one-time use actions that can quickly change the course of the game. Buildings grant permanent benefits once built and are the primary way to gain influence. How will you run your dystopia? Focus on building, attacking your opponents, or recruiting as you vie to gain enough influence points to claim the title of Grand Scion and ruler over all of Empyrion!

Spirits of the Rice Paddy

Quote:
Ancient Balinese legend describes a host of powerful spirits who help poor rice farmers achieve success. These farmers have long used a sophisticated irrigation system to organize rice cultivation by integrating religious devotion and social responsibility with traditional farming methods. Even modern farmers seek to placate the spirit world in their quest to produce an abundant harvest.
In Spirits of the Rice Paddy players compete against fellow rice farmers to construct and tend rice paddies. Livestock can be used to build walls and remove large rocks. They can eat harmful pests and fertilize the fledgling crops. Weeds must be kept at bay. And, most importantly, water must be conserved and released with the greatest of care. With a little luck, all that back-breaking labor will pay off in the end. The good news is that the spirits are eager to assist, granting many special abilities, blessings and magic. The farmer who produces the most rice over seven rounds wins!

Reclaim Oz: Deckbuilding Strategy Card Game

Quote:
Reclaim Oz is unlike other deckbuilding games because of the combination of PvP elements and a limitation to the size of each players built deck. It is a unique tabletop experience that has the play differently than any other games in the same genre. We have added items to the game as well, these will work as multipliers and bonuses to specific characters!

If you didn’t know already, the game takes place in the Wonderful Land of Oz, but at a time when it wasn’t so wonderful. All the great Legends of Oz have disappeared, and four Witches from the Silver Islands. While L. Frank Baum may have written a much happier world, this is still the same place, with all the characters and places you know in love—but in a time of great terror. The game consists of animals, beasts, and mythos—it is your task to get the World back to the way it once was, with the characters you know and love. If you are able to compile the best deck filling each of the categories (HEART, COURAGE, BRAIN), you win!

Wallenstein - the 30 years' war

Quote:
For many of us, the Thirty Year's War is the name of a conflict that occurred almost four hundred years ago and beyond that we know very little. But this war was one of the longest and most destructive in European history and was a major driver in the changing political and religious boundaries of Europe, as influential in Europe as the Revolutionary and American Civil War were to the foundation and development of the United States.

Albrecht von Wallenstein was one of the prominent generals of the 30 Years’ War and is the namesake of one of Queen Games’ highest rated games. Wallenstein is a game for 3-5 players Designed by Dirk Henn and published by Queen Games. This is a medium to heavy strategy game lasting around 120 min. The Wallenstein game box comes with the base game and three expansions, the Emperor’s Court, Landsknechte and Military Leaders. The expansion Military leaders is exclusive to the Kickstarter Campaign. (there maybe small quantities available at shows and promotions).

Terrenus: The Game Of Gods - Board Game

Quote:
Terrenus: The Game of Gods gives you the chance to defeat your rivals over and over again, using a mortal world made just for the purpose! All of your god powers get used - creating a world, bringing human life to it, having them edify their love for you with temples, and using them to attack your rivals. Summon monsters! Call up heroes to defeat your rivals' monsters and heroes! And at the end of the game, just wipe it all away to do it again.

Players: 2-4
Time: 20-45 minutes per player, depending on experience.
Ages: 13+
Style: Sort of Euro, sort of classical Go/Chess, and sort of RAWR go forth in my name and strike down my enemies.

Terrenus: The Game of Gods is like nothing you have played. It is a unique blending of four quick minigames, each with simple rules, but also building on the phases that came before it. A phase lasts roughly ten turns, with the gods scoring points on each turn.

WYSIWYG: [wiz-ee-wig] In WYSIWYG you play a light fingered thief. Your goal is to loot, pickpocket, and burgle your way to fame and riches. But watch out for the city guard! They'll put a stop to your life of crime at every turn of the die.

Each player is attempting to collect Items, everyone gets one go at stealing from the target. As you collect the items, you will trade them in at a Fence each fence is represented by a color token. When you have 3 items with the same color Token. i.e. the locked Chest, The Ancient Tablet, and the Treasure Map. You trade them into the Green Fence. You get a Green wink to represent being "Solid" with this Fence.

Winner is the first thief to become "Solid" with 5 of the 7 available Fences. But keep an eye out. The other thieves maybe aiming to take your ill-gotten goods from you! And with the Fence Rewards come item cards that can assist in their nefarious plans to take your loot, freeze it in place, or use a fire bomb to wipe it from existence. Quote:
Conan is a miniature-based board game that pits one player, the overlord, who controls hordes of savage tribesmen, no-good lowlifes and undead minions against 1 to 4 players who incarnate the legendary Conan and his fellow adventurers. The gameplay is asymetric, as the overlord possesses a large selection of models and objectives which are his own, whereas the brave heroes are played from a first person perspective, much like in a role playing game. An adventure can be played out in 1 hour on one of the beautiful game boards (depicting iconic locations of Howard's immersive Hyborian world) as you pit your wits, daring and tactical acumen against your opponent

Deluxe Orléans - Best of Essen 2014

Quote:
For $57 you can get our special Kickstarter Deluxe edition, with metal coins and wooden tokens instead of cardboard. And for just $2 more, you not only get the deluxe edition of Orleans, but also a TMG original game by Andy Van Zandt, Bottlecap Vikings!

A Brief Description of Orléans

During the medieval goings-on around Orléans, you must assemble a following of farmers, merchants, knights, monks, etc. to gain supremacy through trade, construction and science in medieval France.

In the city of Orléans and the area of the Loire, you can take trade trips to other cities to acquire coveted goods and build trading posts. You need followers and their abilities to expand your dominance by putting them to work as traders, builders, and scientists. Knights expand your scope of action and secure your mercantile expeditions. Craftsmen build trading stations and tools to facilitate work. Scholars make progress in science, and last but not least it cannot hurt to get active in monasteries since with monks on your side you are much less likely to fall prey to fate.

KOOPS HOOPS - Finger Flick Basketball Game

Quote:
The KOOPS HOOPS Classic Finger Flick Basketball Game Board is the most ingenious and exciting game on the market today. KOOPS HOOPS is a tabletop board game that everyone can enjoy. This game is a spin-off the tabletop football game which students across America enjoy playing in study halls and cafeterias. In the traditional finger flick game, a pack of matches, or a folded triangular piece of paper acts as the ball.

KOOPS HOOPS takes finger flick table games to a higher level of excitement and competition. Playing the game on the KOOPS HOOPS court or on a REPLICA FAN FAVORITE College or Professional Court addsto the thrill of victory.

KOOPS HOOPS lets you test your skills and hand-eye coordination without leaving your favorite spot. Next time you want to shoot some hoops, just pick up your KOOPS HOOPS game board. In minutes you'll be in the middle of the tension and nail-biting action that is only a "Finger Flick" away.

Krakatoa: The Explosive Dice Game from Joli Quentin Kansil

First published (only 500 copies were produced) in 1983, it has become virtually impossible to find. Players vie to score the most points after six rounds of tossing three sets of custom-made (for us only) hand-painted 12-sided dice.

Horrible Hex

Quote:
Horrible Hex is a game of strategic spatial relations that combines the depth of a chess match with the simplicity of a game of dominoes.

There are only two components: a deck of goal cards and a set of hex tiles. There is no board; instead, the hexes form a constantly shifting maze of possible moves, blocks, and scoring opportunities.

Each player places tiles and attempts to favorably arrange the hexes to complete their goal cards and thwart their opponent’s plans.

NEARSPACE: Cards, Dice, and Stellar Conquest (relaunch)

Quote:
Two fledgling empires stare across the void at one another.

The Terran Alliance explores space eager for new frontiers and resources to exploit. They are a cantankerous collection of conflicting factions united only in their refusal to accept any limitation to their individual ambitions. They are at their strongest, and happiest, when challenged.

The Alpha Centauri Regime advances into space to meet the alien threat and eliminate it. They are a single people united under a single banner. The State gives every citizen a purpose, and every citizen gives their all to the State. Anything less is unacceptable.

Now aware of the existence of the other, both sides advance eagerly for the conflict to come. The one thing they share is an appetite for war.

GAMEPLAY

In the standard game, each player takes on the role of an intergalactic empire in a head to head battle for domination. A field of cards between the players represents the space that separates the two homeworlds, with every card offering a potential threat to overcome or resource to conquer. Each player uses the resources of the homeworld and conquered planets to construct ships in the form of polyhedral dice. The number of facets determines the firepower and resilience of the ship, while the color dictates its armaments and special functions. Purple royal crafts inspire greater production from the colonies they control, while the gray stealth ships advance upon the enemy unseen.

The growing fleets explore space and claim worlds, fighting the enemy whenever they make contact. All ships attacking a contested card roll to determine the effectiveness of their assault. The defending ships roll and pair off the highest roll against the highest attacker, then the second highest, and so on until all ships are paired. The higher roll of each pair survives while the lower falls as a casualty. If any defending ship survives the onslaught, the attacker is repelled.

The game continues until an empire loses its homeworld for three turns, is crushed entirely, or suffers unbearable losses to its fleet represented by 100 facets worth of ships destroyed.

El Dorado Canyon: A Card Game

Quote:
You moved out West to make a name for yourself and you settled in a tiny town called El Dorado Canyon. After setting up camp on the outskirts of town, you begin to hire locals to do some work for you. These characters all want a piece of the action and El Dorado Canyon is the perfect place for cowboys to make something of themselves. Do you have what it takes to become the richest, most infamous cowboy in El Dorado Canyon or are you going to be sent packing with the rest?

El Dorado Canyon is a card game set in the American Wild West with lots of shooting, stealing, bluffing, and mining. You might be a Lawman with dwindling health and ammo, in-between a Gunman and a Bandito, trying to avoid death. Or you might be a Prospector, mining contentedly next to a Coward and a Banker who want nothing to do with you. Every game of El Dorado Canyon is unique, and to make it more interesting, sit next to someone different every game!

The 5th Land

Quote:
The 5th Land is a Resource Management & Wargame hybrid where the players build alliances, backstab, accumulate resources and ultimately fight each other on the field (militarily) and on the world markets (financially) in order to be the first to control 5 lands on the map.

Our objective was to make a strategy board game that could stand up to any advanced stategy board game, yet be played in 30~45 minutes, instead of 2-3 hours.... (each additional player adds about 15-20 minutes to the game's length).

So after more that 300 playtests (not counting In-House testing) we've managed to produce a game that is very simple to learn (5 minutes) but... devising a winning strategy will take a more calculated approach. You need to carefully consider what actions will advance you and put your opponents at a disadvantage. You need to weigh many different pathways to victory, including the financial collapse of your opponent as you attempt to control The 5th Land.

Exodus: Edge of Extinction. Forge your space empire.

Quote:
The original Exodus: Proxima Centauri was a distinguishable entry among other 4X games of the new wave, leaving its unique mark on the gaming world. Now we want to expand both the gaming and the narrative aspect of Exodus with Exodus: Edge of Extinction – a worthy expansion to an epic space strategy.

Lead one of six unique, fully developed and beautifully illustrated factions with their own histories, strengths, unique special abilities and a set of new, exclusive technologies.

Exodus: the Edge of Extinction is a an expansion worthy of the base game, introducing asymmetric powers and new game play options to the critically acclaimed Exodus: Proxima Centauri Revised Edition. Bigger fleets, custom action cards, novel technologies and completely new mechanisms like the Combat Cards add a whole new layer to the spectrum of strategies already available in the base game.
