My name's Jo and I'm thrilled to be participating for the very first time in this year's 10x10 challenge. I think this will be a great opportunity to get my least played games back into circulation. I have also included some newly acquired games that have only a couple of plays under their belt.

1. Trajan

2. Among the Stars

3. Lewis and Clark

4. Nations

5. Bora Bora

6. Keyflower

7. Castles of Burgundy

8. Kemet

9. Five Tribes

10. Legendary: Villains - Marvel Deck Building Game

This is one of my favorite games. I snagged this from a Barnes and Nobles red dot clearance sale for $15!

Progress:

1. 01/01/2015 - Played with my husband. Victory was his. Score: 133 to 130

2. 03/15/2015 - Two player game with my husband. I thought we both played rather well. I was surprised at our low scores, though. Scores: 117 and 118.

3. 03/21/2015 - Played a great, tense game with my husband tonight. My strategy was to focus on shipping and collect commodity cards through Trajan titles. My husband's strategy, as always, was to advance on the senate track. It was a very close game, but my husband managed to squeak past. Scores: 157 and 154

4. 03/22/2015 - Four player game with a newbie. The newbie picked up on this game really fast. I was seriously impressed. I didn't play as well as I had hoped, but I had a blast. I ended up tying for second with the newbie. Scores: 119, 114, 114 and 112.

5. 04/12/2015 - Two player game with my husband. My husband tried out a new strategy where he mostly ignored the senate track and concentrated on the build action. As a result, he manged to score a whopping 60 points for his sets of construction titles. My strategy was to advance on the senate track and more or less ignore the shipping action. I won! Scores: 174 and 166

6. 04/18/2015 - Two player game with my husband. My husband went heavy on construction and I tried my hand at military. My husband won! Scores: 175 and 140.

7. 04/25/2015 - Three player game with Rae and Don. I didn't do well the first round and only managed to get around 10 points after deducting 9 points for not being able to meet two of the peoples' needs. But I recovered and ending up tying for first place with Don. Unfortunately, I forgot to write down our scores before cleaning up.

8. 04/29/2015 - Two player game with Rae. We both went strong in construction and we both dabbled in some shipping. I won! Scores: 130 and 125.

9. 05/08/2015 - Two player game with Rae. Both of us were convinced that the other had won. We ending up tying. Surprise!

10. 05/17/2015 - Four player game. Nick and Don went heavy on shipping. They even managed to deplete the deck! I concentrated on advancing on the senate and managed to get max out on the track for two of the years. I won by a landslide. Final scores: 136, 103, 94 and 89.

Conclusion: I still love this game a lot, but I'm looking forward to giving it a rest for awhile. I don't think I gained any new insights on strategy. I still think it's best to concentrate on construction and shun shipping. But most of the time I'm a dabbler and will do a bit of everything.

I still love, love, love this game. Hasn't made it to the table in months, though.

Progress:

1. 01/02/2015 - Solo play. Lost by three spaces. I look forward to reintroducing this to my group.

2. 02/08/2015 - Four player game with a newbie. The newbie caught on fast and played really efficiently. My husband managed to reach the Fort while most of us were nearing the last mountain cluster.

3. 02/15/2015 - Four player game with another newbie. The new person didn't quite catch on to the game as quick as I had hoped. They struggled a little bit with the resource management part of the game. I managed to snag some good cards in the beginning that helped be move quickly through the mountains. I won!

4. 03/08/2015 - Five player game. This game went by relatively fast despite a full table. Only one person seemed to be struggling with some AP but it wasn't too bad. I won!

5. 10/21/2015 - Two player game with Nick. We were neck and neck the whole game but I managed to eke out a win.

So far I've spent more time making a custom foamcore insert for this game than playing it. Hope to change that in 2015.

Progress:

1. 02/21/2015 - Two player game with the husband. The husband won. Final scores: 192 to 163.

2. 03/28/2015 - Two player game with the husband. I won!. Final scores: 169 and 167.

3. 03/28/2015 - Two player game with the husband. Boy, this was a strange game. My husband swore up and down that he tried his hardest to win, but I have my doubts. During the first round he did not recruit a man or a woman and failed to complete a task tile. I did play exceptionally well, though. Final scores: 214 and 152.

4. 06/21/2015 - Three player game with Nick and Don. Nick won this one and I managed to get second. Final scores: 158, 151 and 138.

5. 09/05/2015 - Two player game with Nick. This was a bit of a refresher game for both of us and I felt it. I expected him to win, so I was pleasantly surprised when we tied. We were a little confused about the tiebreaker listed in the rules. But we consulted BGG and found that I had won since I had gotten first player during phase C. Final Scores: 160 and 160.

Suburb game that I need to bring to the table more often.

Progress:

1. 01/09/2015 - 2 Player game with hubby. We played the variant where we were randomly dealt two player boards to pick from. I played with #4 and hubby played with #8. I think we both played very strongly. I managed to snag some very helpful knowledge titles that helped me complete the city spaces on my estate board. Hubby's strategy was to quickly complete the 1 and 2 tile spaces on his board to get big points. Hubby was a little upset at the end when he realized he didn't have enough turns to complete his last city cluster. Anyway, I won! Final scores: 166 to 155.

2. 01/10/2015 - Another 2 player game with my husband, standard boards. Nick went heavy on shipping and I scored big points for filling up my biggest city and pastures spaces. I made the mistake of miscalculating how many turns that were left and not being able to fill out my last city cluster. Sound familiar? It was a close game but I managed to win. Final scores: 177 to 174.

3. 04/18/2015 - Two player game with my husband, standard boards. I forgot to write down the scores for this one but I won by over 20 points.

4. 04/19/2015 - Two player game with my husband. I played with board 2 and I think my husband played with board 3. I won by a hair. Final scores: 163 and 161.

5. 05/03/2015 - Three player game with standard boards. I got second place by a hair. Final scores: 191, 176 and 175

6. 05/26/2015 - Two player game with my friend, non standard boards. I won! I was in a hurry to put the game away so I forgot to record the scores. I won by at least 10 points.

7. 06/14/2015 - Four player game with Don, Nick and Matt. Standard boards. Everyone was familiar with this game except for Matt. But he picked it up very quickly and managed to get third place. Don won and I came in second. Final Scores: 220, 215, 199 and 190.

8. 09/01/2015 - Two player game with my husband, Nick. Two random boards dealt to both players. I won! I forgot to record the scores, though.

9. 09/26/2015 - Four player game with Nick, Jeff and Wanda. Standard boards. Saturday we went to a monthly game meet up hosted by the Oahu Board Gamers. We played Wanda's copy which included some tiles from a couple of the expansions. I ended up winning but I did cheat a little. It was pointed out to me by Nick that I had placed two buildings of the same type in the same city cluster. I was really embarrassed.

I bought this for my husband last year for Christmas. I hoped this would be the game that would take him from being a casual gamer to a hardcore gamer. The game is great, but the miraculous transformation that I hoped for didn't take place.

Progress:

1. 02/08/2015 - Four player game with a newbie. I was psyched because we finally got to use the full side of the board. The newbie caught on quick and managed to thwart several attacks and retain ownership of two temples. It was a close game and it looked likely that Don was going to win. But the newbie managed to defeat Don in battle and steal back ownership of a temple. Matt, the newbie, won!

This was a Christmas present from a friend.

Progress:

1. 01/01/2015 - Played with hubby. He completely crushed me. Landslide victory at 209 to 148.

2. 01/03/2015 - Four player game with a newbie. This time my strategy was to keep my bids low for turn order and concentrate on getting viziers instead of collecting resource cards. I won! The scores were 154, 148, 116 and 95

3. 01/03/2015 - Four player game. My husband sat out and was replaced with our friend Rae. I won the majority of viziers again which reaped a total of 35 points. It was a very close game, so I didn't feel too bad about coming in last. The scores were 103, 102, 102 and 99.

4. 01/17/2015 - Three player game. Can't really say I had much of a strategy in this game. Most of my points came from coins and camels. Placed third. The scores were 148, 141 and 134.

5. 01/17/2015 - Two player game with my friend Rae. Rae managed to buy the two Djinns that, when activated, allow a player to take control of a tile. This allowed her to place one or two camels per turn. The game ended pretty quickly as a result. So quickly, in fact, that neither of us had recruited any yellow Viziers! Final scores: 124 to 110.

6. 01/25/2015 - Four player game. Again, I got the most Viziers which provided me with the majority of my points. The end game was interesting. A new bidding round started with a single legal move on the board. It would have provided the winner at least 15 points. I put in a bid of 12 and was subsequently outbid by my friend Don who ultimately won the game. I came in third. Final scores were 152, 149, 136 and 115.

7. 04/05/2015 - Three player game. I hadn't played this game in two months and I felt a little rusty. I don't think I played exceptionally well, but I still managed to win. Final scores were 147, 138 and 132.

8. 04/26/2015 - Three player game. Early on I got the Djinn that allows one to place their camel on a tile with just meeples, no palm trees or palaces. At some point noticed that I had a single camel left and thought it would be wise to end the game on my next turn, thinking that I was well into the lead. My mistake! When we tallied up the points I was dead last. Final Scores: Will look up later. Too lazy right now.

9. 05/10/2015 - Four player game with Don, Matt and my husband. Don went heavy on collecting resource cards which at game's end gave him the bulk of his points. I didn't really have much of a strategy other than to bid low and aim for the most viziers. I won! Final Scores: 155, 131, 122 and 119.

10. 06/28/2015 - Four player game with Don, Matt and Nick. I did two big blue builder actions that reaped me a total of 85 gold coins. I also got second place in viziers. I won! Final Scores: 163, 126, 123 and 114.

Conclusion: I absolutely love this game!

This was a Christmas present from my husband. We've only attempted the starter scenario and lost.

Progress:

1. 01/14/2015 - Played the starter scenario with my husband tonight. I managed to defeat Dr. Strange twice before we were done in by drawing our last plot twist. I'm also pretty sure we made several mistakes in our favor.

2. 01/16/2015 - Played the starter scenario with my husband again. We corrected our mistakes from the last game and finally managed to win. I'm really starting to warm up to this game.

3. 01/19/2015 - Two player game with my husband. We used the same allies but changed the adversaries and plot. We took on Professor X and his mutant do-gooders. It was a bit of a challenge, but they were ultimately defeated.

4. 04/12/2015 - Two player game with my husband. We were five turns in before we realized that we forgot to shuffle in the plot twist cards into the adversary deck. We started over and managed not to make any big mistakes. We managed to take Odin three times before the adversary deck ran out.

Simple and fun. Great for veteran gamers and newbies alike.

Progress:

1. 01/25/2015 - Three player game. I came in second. The final scores were 49,41 and 38.

2. 01/25/2015 - Three player game. This game ended in a three way tie! Before we scored puddings, Don and I were tied at 50 and Nick was at 41. Nick had the most puddings, and Don and I tied for least. The final scores were 47,47 and 47!

3. 04/26/2015 - Three player game. We ended our gaming session today with a game of Sushi Go! I tied for second with my husband.
