I generally use these to focus my gaming a bit even if I don't achieve total success. Last year I think I achieved about 3-4 of my 10 goals and came close on a couple others. Don't always just focus on one game but sometimes a family of games, limitation, or something else.

Loved my one play of a PnP copy in December. Could be difficult to get to 10 plays due to the nature of the game, but I'm game. There's a lot to explore here! Harry Potter would have no chance at Argent!

d10-1 February 7, Brookhurst Hobbies. Came in second 6-5-1. I played as novice mages.

d10-2 February 9, Lance's. Came in fourth of five with scores being 3-3-2-2-2. Teaching game which took us 3.5 hours including the instruction.

d10-3 February 17, Rick's. I won this one although it was close. Two people new to the game. We played four player in just over 2 hours after 20 minutes or so of teaching. 4-4-3-1.

d10-4 March 7, Brookhurst Hobbies. I won 7-5-0. New person struggled to grasp how to play well. Took over 3 hours due to this.

d10-5 March 10, Rick's. I won 5-5-2 on the tiebreaker due to being ahead by one point in influence. New guy did well until his plans fell apart in the final round.

d10-6 March 15, Jason's. I won 5-4-2-1 in a game involving two new people. No nasty red mages but the green mages allowed pushing around of people in a room and was almost more aggravating really.

d10-7 May 26, Rick's. I won 5-3-2-2 in a game involving one new person in a four player game. Quite a bit of banishing, moving, and wounding going on in this one. One of these days, we'll finish a game in under 2 hours...but this wasn't it.

Last year I tried to stay under 10 games and failed. I'd like to try again. I think after some less than stellar experiences I'll be able to achieve this one assuming my more discerning eye has been developed. I've learned to avoid Game Salute and now Queen (why this company can't figure out communication is beyond me in this day and age) and while I enjoy the toy factor of minis have done pretty well at resisting their allure.

d10-1 Forged in Steel - Hope this one funds the second time around as I really enjoy this CDG focused around a developing town.

d10-2 Orleans - I enjoyed my first play and while I didn't think it was awesome, I would enjoy exploring this one more. I figure this deluxe version would be easily sold for close to what I paid if I tire of it.

d10-3 Trickerion - The art, mechanics, and theme drew me in for this one. I guess I love my "table hogs".

d10-4 Mistfall - This one looks intriguing, particularly with the add-on campaign system.

d10-5 Burgle Bros - Supported this one for two reasons - my twin has enjoyed his PnP copy immensely and the designer is local.

d10-6 Project Elite - I am a sucker for alien vs human games that remind me of X-Com the computer game. We'll see if this one "fires" Escape or one of the other time pressure games I own.

d10-7 Samara - I enjoy most of the Cwali games and this one looks solid as well.

d10-8 Foreign King - Looks like a solid game in a small package at great value. We'll see.

d10-9 Mare Nostrum - I'm a sucker for most Academy Games publications outside of their system games. I did not yet pledge for any add ons this time...chips look cool, I know they'd feel cool, but I'm not certain I'd play enough to make this add on worthwhile!

d10-0 Pillars of Eternity - Wasn't planning on backing this one but some of my friends played a prototype and enjoyed their plays. We'll see if its a keeper. Often willing to give some benefit of the doubt to fantasy games...

d10-1d10-1 13 Days: A Game of the Cuban Missile Crisis - Twilight Struggle lite? Yes please! Good reports from a couple geekbuddies.

d10-1d10-2 The Gallerist - Production levels high, enjoyed my prototype play, curious to see the changes.

d10-1d10-3 Carson City - I enjoy worker placement games and this one has some fun twists. Figure the KS edition will easily recoup its value if I decide to move it along due to wooden components, etc. Also added on Haspelknecht.

d10-1d10-4 Iki - Has met its funding goal and a couple geekbuddies write highly of the game. Japanese game with solid components.

d10-1d10-5 Paradox - I'm really curious to try the puzzle mechanic aspect of the game and see how well it integrates into the theme/game.

d10-1d10-6
Factory Funnier - Loved the original game, I'm sure I'll enjoy this one just as much (although if there isn't an allowance to pick up and move a machine, I might house rule that one...

d10-1d10-7
Gloomhaven - I have a group that enjoys RPGesque collaborative games. This one looks interesting. I have no interest in games that have an overlord and this doesn't have one.

FAILED!...sigh, and sill with 5 months to go!

Last year my Monday night group was successful completing a full journey through the first Pathfinder Card game. I'd like to aim to do the same with this one or at least play 10 times!

d10-1 First mission and the Rebels won, sigh. (6/29/15)
d10-2 Things were going well in this side mission and I got cocky...and lost, sigh. (6/29/15)
d10-3 Well, at least I'm consistent. Lost again. (7/13/15)

Not going to list out the rest of the dates of play, but I did complete the full campaign which took us 11 missions or so. I was the IMP and won twice but wasn't close to winning in the finale. The heroes leveled up to ridiculous levels and would cut down my best troops with three attacks at the start of the turn/activation. Hard to get much going there. Won't be revisiting this title in the future. I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer game AI serving as the DM and everyone working as a team against that. No one in the group really seems to enjoy being the overlord/DM.

Really enjoy this game and am excitedly waiting to receive the Merchants expansion. Played this a dozen times last year and hope to do the same this year regardless if it is with all expansions, a portion, or none.

d10-1 With Farmers. I came in second about 12 behind the leader. (1/25/15)
d10-2 With Farmers & Merchants. I came in second 8 points behind (99-91-90). (2/7/15)
d10-3 With Farmers & Merchants. I came in second with 77, 8 behind the leader. (2/8/15)
d10-4 With Merchants. I won with 91 points. (2/14/15)
d10-5 With Farmers. I came in second with 72 points, one behind the winner. (3/18/15)
d10-6 With Merchants, 5 player. I won with 80 points. (4/24/15)
d10-7 With Merchants, 5 player. I came in second with 79 points. (6/23/15)
d10-8 With Farmers, 4 player. I came in third with 71 points, 4 behind the winner. (7/18/15)
d10-9 With Merchants, 4 player. I won 72-71-68-65 after denying an opponent the win by taking the ship that would have given him 10 points. (9/15/15)

d10-3 I won with 111 points. (2/8/15)
d10-4 I won with 120 points. (2/14/15)
d10-5 I won with 115 points. (2/24/15) No blue buildings until final couple rounds made for short game.
d10-6 I lost two player game 100-78. (3/5/15) Not sure about 2 player...

d10-8 I won a three player game 97-92-78 (3/8/15)
d10-9 I won a four player game with one person new to the game with 127. (3/24/15)

I've held a good number of auctions over the last few years as I've sought to reduce the collection. It is getting harder now. However, I still want to commit to reducing the size or at least keeping it stable. The goal here is to sell/trade 10 games per month (and ideally acquire less each month!)

January:

SELL: Dragonscroll, Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia, Istanbul, Maharani, Greenland, Alea Iacta Est, Baltimore & Ohio, Big City, El Gaucho, Lost Valley, Jungle Rumble, Space Cadets

TRADE: Wok Star, Thebes: The Tomb Raiders, Villainy

Schmiel has designed a diverse stable of games which are quite enjoyable. I've noticed that I haven't got many to the table recently so this is an attempt to remedy that situation! Games include A La Carte, Extrablatt, Kunst Stucke, Lieber Bairisch Sterben, Die Macher, Packen Wirs, St. Peterburg, Tribune with expansion, Tyranno Rex, Was Sticht?.

d10-1 Was sticht? Four player game on 3/8/15. I was tied for last.
d10-2 Packen Wir's! Three player game on 4/4/15. I was second. I think we failed on 3-4 different attempts in moving items.
