But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you… And I will beat you.

After Action Report (AAR) Sample

Due to the numbers we have playing and for ease of entering data to make this campaign an enjoyable experience for everyone I am implementing a mandatory format for After Acton Reports. Please follow the proceeding example for AAR structure. This will help facilitate quick updates in order to keep our campaign moving at a once a week pace.

KEY:
Items in Bold Black; are required, a Must follow AAR guidelines.
Items in Dk Blue; are needed items but format and placement may vary.
Items in Lt Blue; are optional items.

Pilot: 2nd Lt.. Terry Bradshaw
B-17: Steelers of Souls (B-17F-27-B0 41-19789) GB – 4th Mission

^ The above pilot entry, the pilot that flew the mission, even if it is a temporary replacement, bombers name and serial MUST be at the top of the page in this order and fully spelled out. A serial number was assigned to all the new crews and those who needed one from previous campaigns. If you are in need of one please make a request in the mission thread and I will get you one.

Squadron: 154th Bombardment Squadron, 218th Bombardment Group (Heavy)
MISSION One Hundred and Fifty-One:

^ Follow up the pilot and bombers info with the squadron you are assigned to.

^ Crew data can be as simple as above or as elaborate as some of our players have had in the past missions, but I do need some specific data for my stats gathering. Crew wounds MUST be entered after the effected crew entry. This helps me find who is wounded or killed. Please don’t rely on me reading through fifty AAR’s to get this information. If you are one of the players with extremely detailed, and stretched out crew data areas, I would like you to put a summery at the top similar to the one shown above in red. Also you may add enemy fighters shot down or medals acquired as you see fit but please keep this data prior to the wound data as it will make it easier for me to find it. If you would like to bold or use colors for this data that too would be helpful in my data gathering.

Key:
½ = Half an Enemy A/C KIA
* = 1 Enemy A/C KIA
# = 5 Enemy A/C KIA

Bomb Run:
---- Bomb Drop; On
---- Accuracy; 40%

-or-

Bomb Run: Aborted
---- Bomb Drop; DNB
---- Accuracy; 0%

jasta6 wrote:
^ Bomb run information MUST follow the crew data. Use the top format for bombing runs where you dropped your bombs. The bottom format should be used if you aborted the mission prior to bomb release and didn’t drop your load on the target. Also use the bottom format if the bomb bay door were jammed, just replace the word “Aborted” with “Doors Jammed.”

Enemy Fighters Encountered: (KIA – 2 / Prob – 1 / Damg – 3)

Claims:
Harris – 190 & 109
Ruether – 190

jasta6 wrote:
^Enemy fighter claims are required and I need everyone to be explicit in there claims. You MUST use the above summery As Is for your claims. Please do this as this is one area that is neglected by many. You may spell out the exact crewmen that shot down what plane below this summery but I need this information for our stats. PLEASE don’t make it where I have to search your entry and add up your claims.
Key:
KIA = KIA
FBOA-2 = Probable
FCA-1 = Damaged

Replacement Crew Available
Bombardier – 1st Lt. Russel Davis (45)
Port Waist – Sgt. Larry Douglas ***1/2 (26)
Tail Gunner – Sgt. Willy Fry (62)

B-17s disposition: Minor; port wing root, fuel tank self sealed, multiple superficial holes. Repaired for next mission

Peckham Points – 190

-or-

Major; two engines, 2 wing roots tail plane, heater, tail; turret, etc lots of superficial holes. Repaired in 4 days.

Peckham Points – 255

^Bomber status is required so I know who needs a replacement bomber or a temporary spare. You may add any information you deem fit, like what the damage is, but I need to know if the bomber is fit for the next mission or if it is Heavily Damaged or Lost and needs a replacement.

Mission Debriefing:
[Player may be as descriptive as they want here. This area is totally up to the participant.]

Pilot: 2nd Lt.. Terry Bradshaw
B-17: Steeler of Souls (B-17F-27-B0 41-19789)

jasta6 wrote:
^ The above pilot entry, the one listed at the top, and the bombers name MUST be at the bottom of the as well. This is due to the length of many AAR’s and it helps me as I don’t need to scroll up the page to confirm the bombers crew while doing my paperwork.
