New and Uncoming Sci-fi Games Geeklist Turns 1000 Contest! Guess the games and win STAR REALMS
- Simon "that sci-fi guy"(tiggers)Australia
The New and Uncoming Sci-fi Games Geeklist has turned 1,000 (items)! To celebrate (and just for fun) I'm running this GL contest.
Read all of the header before entering!
There are scans of sprues from 49 games in this geeklist. To enter send me a geekmail with a list numbered 1 to 50 identifying the games the sprues are from. Entry 50 is your guess of what the average score per entry will be. Take into account the bonus entries below.
Each game sprue you correctly identify will earn you one space credit. Most space credits wins.
Do NOT comment with answers on this list.
If there is a tie, the tie will be broken by whoever has the closest guess to what the average score per entry will be (including bonus' below). If there is still a tie the geek roller will determine the winner.
One entry per person.
Contest will be open from now until 2300 Australian Eastern Daylight Time March 14, 2015.
Hint: I scanned all these sprues myself.
Subscribe to this GL to see results when they are posted.
This isn't meant to be easy! Some didn't fit on my scanner so you only have partial views of them.
A game from the same family is not a correct guess. So, for example, guessing Carcassonne when the game is Carcassonne: The Count of Carcassonne will be marked as incorrect.
You do not need to thumb this GL to enter but it would be appreciated.
Bonus space credits
Since this contest is celebrating The New and Uncoming Sci-fi Games Geeklist, anyone who owns the microbadge from that list will receive 5 additional space credits. You do not need to be displaying the MB in order to earn the bonus space credits.
There are a number of Sci-fi games in this list. Each correctly identified game will earn an additional space credit (i.e. Sci-fi game are worth 2 space credits in total).
There is one game in this list that I have forgotten the identity of. If you are able to name it you will receive 3 bonus space credits. (i.e. this entry is worth four space credits in total, assuming I can verify you are correct).
Prizes will be awarded based on most space credits - not just on the number of correct entries.
First prize: a sealed copy of Star Realms sent anywhere in the world, plus 50% of the geekgold pool (which starts at 100gg plus any tips added to it).
Second prize: 30% of the geekgold pool.
Third prize: 20% of the geekgold pool.
The maximum possible number of space credits with bonus taken into account was:
49 correct games
11 sci-fi games
3 Unknown game - item #1 (Rum & Pirates)
The tie-breaker: The average space credits was 36.8
1st Place: Winner of a new copy of Star Realms + 50% of the GG prize pool (109 x 0.5 = 54.50)
with 66 (of a possible 68!) space credits:Paul K.(pk2317)United States
There was a tie for 2nd place and so the tie breaker came into effect
