I've seen recently this Dice Tower episode:

and it made me think about all games that was poor at first but then I've played them again.

Feel free to add your games that kept getting better

Sorry for my poor English. If you see any big mistakes write me about it. Thanks!

First time when I was playing this game I was really disappointed.
Being honest I don't remember why. I thought about it as a really boring card game.

We gave it another shot last week, and it was totally different for me.
Maybe with Ennio Morricone as a background music everything gets better
Nay, this game is really funny, and quite fast.

It wasn't funny at all.
Nope. Just some cards with funny (?) pictures.
But then we played this one with other ppl. That helped A LOT.
I laughed so much that my stomach ache
We had this same problem with Story Cubes and Mysterium (Tajemnicze Domostwo).

I am not a big fan of tactical wargames at all. When I first played CC it has all the dressings of a tactical wargame (3D map on a 2D surface, line of sight, etc.). Plus all kinds of wacky, random things happened in a given game.

Recently, my son asked to play a game an I pulled it back out. Teaching it to him, I realized how easy the game was to teach/assimilate unlike other tactical wargames (cough, ASL). Plus, by playing with him (versus more competitive sessions with other wargamers) I was able to appreciate the drama and narrative of the game as it unfolded.

Definitely moving way up on the charts for me....

No doubt, this is the one. At first games you are overwhelmed by all the different cards and options, it can even scare players off. But with each play Twilight Struggle gets better and better.
