I enjoy games where you desperately want to guess what the other players are up to, not only by looking at their cards etc. but by reading their faces, eyes and body language. In some games I never do this, while in others I do it a lot. I want to find more games that have this quality. What games make you try to read your opponents?

Starting with the obvious. If you disregard the money, reading other people is what makes it interesting. Not that I'm any good at this.

I think the name of the game is actually derived from the Japanese word that means "reading." The game is all about trying to figure out what the opponent will play, and then playing what counters that.

Wings of Glory, formerly known as Wings of War, is all about reading the other players. Will he turn left or right? Will he cross my line of fire or will I cross his? It's a rather expensive game, but it can be great fun!

Players try to secretly smuggle contraband past the Sheriff in any given round (i.e.-the "active" player) by putting cards inside a quality component velvety pouch. It's up to the Sheriff to decide if he lets those pouches get by unexamined or not, based on the likelihood or suspicion of what the other players claim to be inside the pouches. At this point, the other players can continue to bribe the Sheriff not to open their bag while pointing fingers at other players whom they suspect of being dishonest. Overall, a great game of bluffing and deduction.

Players are trying to get their meeples who are in various boats across the board to the various islands, each worth differing amounts of points if reached. Players also have identical sets of cards containing the colors of the players. Each turn, everyone negotiates who should be thrown out of which boat. When everyone reveals their cards, the color that appears the most is the player who loses one of their meeples. Needless to say, you don't have to keep your word as to which color you are going to vote.

To further complicate matters, each player has 3 "captain" cards. If you play a card of a player color, you always keep the card after voting takes place. But if you play a captain card, it goes out of the game. But here's the kicker: if you're the only player to play a captain card, you alone get to decide who gets thrown out of the boat; but if more than one player plays a captain card, they all cancel each other out and everyone still has to lose the captain card and voting is determined as before. This adds a nice element of "chicken" in a sense. This is another great bluffing pure negotiation game.
