This month I'm suggesting we give a slight theme to our board games of 'highly thematic'.

To those who aren't quite so obsessed with board games. this is games that really feel like you are immersed in the world of the game.

Feel free to add any other games you fancy playing from mine, or your own collection (You'll need to register on this site to do that however)
There are 2 games I've yet to play from my games, so would need some advanced warning in order to teach.

My Game Collection

This is VERY similar to Ludo, however it features taking goons hostage, drive-by shootings and your very own Godfather.

I've had this since I was little. It can be very quick and is a good filler to start the session.

This is in tribute to the recent passing of Terry Pratchett.

It's heavily filled with jokes and references to his books and is actually a very in-depth game (although just a little bit random at times).

Main features of hidden victory conditions and area control.

This is a game that can play very quickly, depending of how the game goes and we might even want to play this again later in the evening.

This would be the first 'Big' game we would be attempting on one of these game nights. It's a difficult co-op game of stopping an ancient terror from devouring the earth.

Think Pandemic meets an RPG meets a Fantasy Flight adventure book (choose your own adventure). I have some very nice dice for use with this (Rob will like them!).

If I play this 'solo' it takes around 90 minutes. However, depending on how well we do, and how quickly people catch on to the game, we could spend 2-3 hours. I've yet to play this using a new app I have which is supposed to speed up the game considerably (replaces a lot of card drawing).

This one has been a bit neglected by me as for 'solo' play you need to use at least 3 heroes and this can become fiddly to track for one person and so I instead play it on the android app for solo.

However, as a co-op game it's basically a super hero team vs the big bad guy. You basically pick a hero you like and play their deck but it's got beautiful cards and every archetypal hero/villain (albeit a universe created for this game).

This game does have player elimination, but you stay involved (down, but not out).

I believe this is the game that Dave is going to bring.
I've not played it myself, so I'll leave the description brief.

It's a co-operative game based on the remake 'gritty' TV show. You're trying to survive the Cylon's. However not everyone can be entirely trusted, as one/some (depending on number of players I believe) of your fellow players might actually be a Cylon.

Dave says it's a Brutal game where Evil often wins. Maybe we can be the exception?
