Dear Santa,

This is my first year participating in this fabulous event and I couldn't be more excited! Thank you for stopping by to see what I'm longing for. I have been a very good boy this year, but I have really overdone it, as far as buying games. Unfortunately, for you... that makes things a bit more difficult. I'm very sorry. Have a cookie.

I have reorganized my wishlist, but it is full of OOP grail games and unreleased games. Please feel free to ignore those. The remaining items I've tried to rate with *anything* 'like to have' or better being things I would be very excited to receive.

All that being said, please feel free to ignore my 'wish list' and surprise me with something/anything that you love and would like to share. I love surprises! As far as myself, I play solo a majority of the time, so +1 for anything that plays solo. But, I enjoy many multi-player only games, as well, so don't shy away from that instead.

Please, just have fun picking something, and don't fret. I'm going to love *whatever* you come up with.

Most of all... Thank you!!!

Best wishes, David

Dear Klaus,
It is very exciting to hear from you. I will do my best to answer your questions to the extent that I can considering your questions are about me and my playing preferences and I don't really know much about me
As I said in my note to Santa, I am predominantly a solo gamer. That doesn't preclude multiplayer games, however. I enjoy mucking about with solo variants for games that aren't made for solo play.

I don't have a steady gaming group at the moment, so most of the time I play two or three. Oh!!! Maybe Santa can send me a gaming group!!!

I also have a 9 y/o son that I am trying to ease into the hobby, but I have yet to make much progress. I have had even less success with my wife

My preferred genre is Mid to Heavy Euro. I love worker placement (probably my favorite). I usually go for economic or city building themes, but I'm really very open to a whole range of subjects. I've never managed to put together a top 10 list, but for you I will say that among my favorites are: Snowdonia, Keyflower, Shipyard, Troyes, Nations, Village, London, La Granja, Peloponnes, Robinson Crusoe, Luna, and Glen More. Wow that was hard work! Is that 10? I can't count. Let's call it 10.

I hope this proves somewhat helpful. I realize I'm a difficult target (but I was a very good boy this year) and I assure you I will be delighted with whatever you (and S.A.N.T.A) come up with.

Best wishes, David

Dear Klaus,
I don't know how I (and Santa) got so lucky to have you as our liaison, but I am already feeling very grateful. It should also be mentioned that you are proving to be quite a mentor, inspiring me to have a lot of fun in the first year of my new role as elf! This is so much fun!!!

Be well and don't work too hard. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Cheers, David

Dear Klaus,
I am looking forward to this challenge! I should warn you, however, that I am in the midst of preparing a feast for the Thanksgiving holiday this Thursday, so it may take me a while to respond. It will give me something fun to think about while I'm slicing and dicing and stirring and mixing.
Best Wishes, David

Dear Klaus,
This would be a bit easier if I knew more about your gaming preferences
Still, I will try... Two quick thoughts this morning:
Glen More
Anyone worked up a Solo variant?

London
Sweet Little Solitaire Version

Dear Klaus,
I don't know what to say. I'm thrilled at the gifts you sent to me! Thank you for your generosity and your thoughtfulness. I hope your secret Santa is as kind to you. My family and I had a wonderful holiday meal with good friends. Now it's time to get back to gaming
Thank you... truly.
All the best to you and yours, David

Back to looking for fun soloable games, I found a pair of games about ships that are both quite good this way, Nauticus and Shipyard.

Dear Klaus,
You've been quite the good boy, too. Santa must be very proud. Cheers, D.
