This is a list of upcoming anticipated board games to be launched for Kickstarter. Please help this list by adding a game with a launch date (or estimated), as it's difficult to know everything coming up in the pipeline. If you have any pertinent information regarding a games Kickstarter launch or development, feel free to comment with that as well.

Please use the standard format (with geeklinks) for items added to the list, and then any other info OR pictures may be added as a comment below! It helps significantly to keep this list organized with a standard format and not to include anything extra in the geeklist item header itself. Any geeklist item not following this format is subject to deletion.

Description

PUBLISHERS: Hopefully this will be a great list for you to generate some traffic to your project before it launches. I'll do my best to keep arranging these in order by estimated release date as games are added.

Once a game has been launched on Kickstarter, It will be removed a few days after launch (3-7 days), as there are plenty of devoted lists and posts for active Kickstarter projects. Due to life demands right now of opening Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour, I am MIA on BGG activity and usually only updating this list monthly. After things calm down I hope to get back to the list more regularly. Special thanks to those whom are managing their additions and marking games as launched and completed to help keep the list cleaned up.

This is a list for only upcoming and unlaunched projects. Please feel free to geekmail me if you have any questions.

Thanks for subscribing and enjoy!

*disclaimer: This list is not anything definitive to a project launching on the estimated date, or time, or even launching period, as project creators/publishers may change plans without notice.

Description

In the year 2200 began the war, it was inevitable ... metal mixed with technology turned to fire, smoke and destruction.

Nowadays a few cities have survived, and are defended with great metal walls, mazes and gates to prepare a first defense before reaching the city center.

Men are only worth their armor inherited from parents to children. Sometimes armors are made with scrap and pieces of other Mechs, rarely are new designed and most often are stolen on the battlefield. Really there is no longer honor in the war.
Pirates, mercenaries and traitors attack the cities to conquer them, loot them or steal as much junk and technology as possible.

The Last Mechs board game is a full Cooperative with Map exploration, dungeon-crawl boardgame set in the postapocaliptic world, driving Mechs and narrative campaign through comic!

Description:
"Our newest discovery changes everything! Our paradox engine lets us manipulate paradox particles, the fundamental building blocks of reality. Past, present, and future—none are beyond our grasp, and nobody can stand in our way! Except, that is, maybe the frauds at that rival paradox lab down the street. Quickly, to the control room. Switch off the safeties, there’s renown to be won!”

In The Paradox Initiative, players are mad scientists competing to claim strands of spacetime from worlds all across the multiverse. Who can most efficiently operate their particle-matching “Paradox Engine” to collect strands from the different worlds? Be careful! Every captured strand of spacetime sends ripples throughout existence, collapsing the wormholes that future generations will need to reap the benefits of your reckless experiments.

Paradox takes the familiar board game elements of card drafting, set collection, and resource management, and then adds a Bejewelled-like grid of discs for each player to manipulate. As a result, Paradox is simple to learn yet challenging to master, with players navigating three interlocking systems to grab as much spacetime as they can to be hailed as the greatest scientist in the universe!

Play Time: 60–90 Min

Description

Scott Almes' Silicon Valley puts players in the shoes of budding entrepreneurs struggling to be the first amongst their competitors to have their startup company valued at $1 billion.

players hire staff for their start-up company to put out new products, with the nature of the products being determined by patterns that you build with polyominoes. By putting these products on the market, you'll gain income, but other players might copy your product and take some of that money for themselves — refining your ideas to steal market share, as it were. Along the way you need to acquire funding and try not to go bankrupt while working you way toward being the first company to be valued at $1 billion, which nets you the win.

Players must juggle their products, while keeping an eye on their competitors, hire and fire staff, seek investors, and expand their HQs, all the while keeping an eye on the bottom line. Will the valley make or break you?

Silicon Valley plays in 60-90 minutes and includes a challenging and innovative solo-mode!

Description

Lee's War is a point to point hidden movement war game that allows gamers to refight the American Civil War in the East from 1861-1865. The game uses markers to represent the various corps and armies in the East. Tracking sheets are used to keep track of the commanders and strengths of the onboard markers.

The game has 4 scenarios, each covering one year, 1861, 1862, 1863, and 1864. With only 12 pages of rules gamers will be up and playing in 30 minutes. Rules cover supply, sieges, initiative, command control, interception, and special situations such as Grant's Tenacity, and command change due to incompetetence.

The game is very open ended. Players are given the initial setup, special rules for the scenario (normally less than 3 to 4 paragraphs), and victory conditions. What they do with what they are given is up to them. Combat is handled with a single die roll by each player, and smaller forces can suprise larger forces.

Victory is determined by seizure of terrain objectives, cutting of supply, and elimination of enemy units.

It is a 2 - 4 player game with each scenario player in 90-120 minutes.

Description

Vienna, in the early 1900s… The Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud established a revolutionary set of theories and therapeutic techniques called psychoanalysis, which are related to the study of the unconscious mind.

From the autumn of 1902, a number of followers who expressed interest in Freud's work were invited to meet at his apartment every Wednesday afternoon to discuss psychology and neuropathology. This group was called the Wednesday Psychological Society; it marked the beginnings of the worldwide psychoanalytic movement.

As a member of this society, your goal is to master therapeutic techniques, establish a practice, and grow your clientele. By delving into your patients’ dreams—their unconscious minds—you can help them recover from various complexes and traumas. In turn, the people you heal will live happier and more productive lives.

Unconscious Mind is a competitive strategy board game for 1-4 players that features a novel blend of worker placement, engine building, multi-use cards, and action programming. Each turn, you will activate all of the therapeutic technique cards you have in a given row of your notebook, marked by your ink-pot. Then, you will send a figure to one of the various action spaces in Vienna—spending time and moving your ink-pot to pay the costs—which, as a result, will set which row of your notebook will be activated at the start of your next turn.

Over the course of the game, your office will be visited by many citizens of Vienna. Once they have been healed, they can happily return to their occupations—which opens up more action spaces in Vienna for players to use. Along the way, you may compile your knowledge and submit a thesis to gain additional rewards. After a number of rounds, scores are tallied, and the player with the most points wins!

Astronots – Betrayal Awaits is a social deduction party game where you are sent on a space mission to discover a new habitable planet for humankind when you realize something odd: You've been hijacked by alien parasites.

Players are divided into two distinct teams and are racing each other to victory. The game takes place in a series of rounds where players will pick and play cards from other player's hands in order to achieve their team's goal. The Crew musts play two Serum cards in order to neutralize the extraterrestrial threat, whilst the Parasites must play five Contagion cards to win the game.

In Astronots – Betrayal Awaits, it is forbidden to play your own cards. Players pick and play cards from others' hands. You will need to decipher who's friend or foe, all the while convincing the other players that you have the cards that will lead their team to victory. Other than the Serums and Contagions, these cards will let you learn information about other players, counter certain strategies, and change how the game itself is played.

Play Time 90-120

Description

Climb the ladder of power in this thematic, Euro style board game for 2-5 players! Each player starts as the ruler of a small tribe, and if you use your strategic skills right, you can be the one to become the most influential ruler of the ancient Maya! Explore the possibilities with a unique mix of area control and worker placement, build your pyramid temple dedicated to the ancient Mayan Gods and invoke their powers for bonus actions and use them to create crafty combos!
Ahau - meaning "ruler" in Mayan -, is a fun, deep, and immersive board game for those players who would like to test their strategic skills and for those who love a good challenge.
Playing time is approximately 90-120 minutes. The recommended minimum age is 13 due to the complexity and historical lore of the game – but no worries, the game is family-friendly. Coming soon to Kickstarter around the spring of 2021!

How is the game played?

The game consists of 10 generations (or rounds), and each generation consists of 4 phases.

During the Movement Phase, players will simultaneously select two cards from their hand, one for the region to move their King into, and the other for the base strength to use for conflicts. A conflict is triggered if two or more Kings end up in the same region, in which case the number of own workers around the region is added to the base strength, and the player(s) with the weaker strength must move their King to another, empty region.

During the Build/Destroy Phase, the players in turn order (starting with the player whose King is in the lowest numbered territory) will select a pyramid tile from within the region where their King is standing, and build that tile into their pyramid. Each tile touching another tile must have the same colour or deity symbol as another adjacent tile in the pyramid. The cost of building is as many resources as the level of the pyramid, in the colour of the tile. For example, building a yellow tile on the second level costs two corn (yellow resources).

Next comes the Action Phase, during which the players, in turn order (A) must place a worker to a city adjacent to their King, (B) may inactivate workers in cities adjacent to their King’s region to produce resources from regions adjacent to that city, and (C) may activate their pyramid tiles for bonus actions. These three actions may be carried out in any order.

The activation of a deity gives bonus actions, such as removing an opponent’s worker, moving a worker to an adjacent city, farming, protecting a city, or moving the ruler and taking another tile. The more tiles you activate, the stronger your bonus action will be. The generation will end in the Cleanup Phase, during which a scoring card will be evaluated.
At the end of the 10th generation, the final scoring takes place, and the player with the most victory points wins the game.

Description

Arena Colossei™ is a miniature game by Top Hat Games, set in ancient Rome. Choose your favourite combat technique and make your gladiator fight! The game can rely on three great features: amazing miniatures, an original and extremely competitive gameplay, historical accuracy at its highest level for what concerns this specific topic.

The game is divided into rounds. To begin with, each player must select which cards (minimum 1) they will play during the current round. Each card represents specific moves and maneuvers the gladiators can perform. The original FightHex System integrates all the information about orientation, armor and view directly on the miniatures' bases!

The round begins: the players must choose, alternatively, which move their gladiators will perform, trying their best to predict and counter the opponent's movements. At the end of each round all cards will be refreshed.

As soon as two miniatures are engaged, combat begins! Use Combat tiles to Defend or Attack a specific area of your opponent: block enemy attacks and penetrate their guard. In this phase, predicting where your opponent is going to hit and where they will block is essential! If your opponent's Defense tile does not match your Attack tile... your attack is a success, pull out a Damage token from the bag!

The Summa Rudis tracks Crowd Favor. Both if you penetrate the enemy's guard or block their attacks, move it towards your side. You win immediately if the Summa Rudis reaches the last space on your side of the track, or if at the end of the 15th round the Summa Rudis is on your side of the track!

The game can be played in two modes: Duel (1 Vs 1) and Melee (1 to 6 players). Moreover, each type of gladiator has four experience levels featuring special moves and techniques!

Description

Axon Protocol [AP] is a cyberpunk themed game of corporate warfare and brain hacking. You are a powerful hacker in the ranks of an international Mega-Corporation.

Your job: hack into the brains of innocent citizens and manipulate their behavior.

Your goal: wring as many resources out of the city as possible and maximize your corporations profit, no matter the cost. Time and timing is crucial. Enemy hackers will fight you every step of the way, and at some point the city will reach its limits and collapse under the corporate struggle.
Chaos and anarchy will follow. It doesn’t matter. You got the most out of it. And there is always another city.
It’s all in the name of profit.

Axon Protocol is a for 1-6 players and features a unique game mechanic called “Shared worker control”.
Every single character in the city has their own routine and skills. Each character can be hacked and controlled by every player.
But they will follow their own behavior again the moment no one is hacking them. The Rockstar might give a concert in the city plaza, until a terrorist blows it up, and the corporate rescue team can only save one of the victims.
The game features 6 types of resources: augments, data, drugs, products, scandals and violence. Each corporation profits from two of these resources.
With over 40 unique characters and 6 different corporations each with their own unique special ability, every game of Axon Protocol will tell its own story.

Description
In 2088 only monolithic cities of trans-humanistic worship protrude from the crust of the earth. Between these cities lies The Expanse, where all opposed were banished. The first to stabilize an economy was Neo Tokyo. The 3 foundational levels that stabilized the economy are as follows:

THE UNDERBELLY
The Underbelly is at street level and is home to the augmentation junkies looking to merge with machines as much and as fast as possible. This is a wild jungle with extremes in morals and values. The Underbelly is a powerful economy completely driven by tech advances.

THE PEN
The Pen, home to the sheeple. The Pen is completely self contained ecosystem above the Underbelly. It is a stable economy but possesses a docile culture which needs protection provided by corporate security called "The Regulators". Now that The Pen faces a new threat from the villains henchmen, their fear needs to be managed because if the The Pen falls, so does the city.

THE QUANTUM
Above it all sits The Quantum, the home of the Corporate Elite. Completely sealed off and secured, these are the lever pullers. Their key to success was helping to facilitate a social contract with the citizens and their representatives. This unwritten understanding is what made Neo Tokyo possible and has yet to be displayed, defined or quantified.

When word got around about the quality of Aug's/Mods and the success rate, many, including Natalia Burtolla (an accomplished hacker known as Liquid Squid) rushed to Neo Tokyo. Born without legs, she came for the best money could buy. She quickly fell in love with the city and the feeling was mutual. She finally feels at home and will do anything to protect Neo Tokyo.

With great decadents comes greater corruption and the stench of that sludge attracts the greatest of villains.

When the villains henchmen hit the streets many were caught off guard. Liquid Squid was well aware and prepared for this threat. To The Underbelly, this was only a matter of time.

OBJECTIVE
A Super Villain is hell bent on terrorizing Neo Tokyo into his control. If he takes out 3 Landmarks he gains the levers of power over the entire city. When the 3rd Landmark has been targeted for attack the Super Villain himself and his elite army descend to make sure the job gets done right. Try to foil the attacks on Landmarks until you can assemble an army of allies powerful enough to defeat him and end the chaos.

DEFEND NEO TOKYO
Neo Tokyo is rife with the Villains Henchmen and natural enemy factions that will destroy anyone and anything in their path. You must protect the citizens from these threats. At the same time you must try to foil attacks on Landmarks until you are prepared to face the Super Villain.

BUILD AN ARMY
Build rep with powerful city influencers by completing missions, assemble your army of allies and temper public fear.

END THE CHAOS
When the third Landmark is triggered you go toe-to-toe with the Super Villain and his army with only one option for an ending. Explosive.

Description

A Noble War is an area control game with a unique take on courtly intrigue for 2 - 4 players. As the head of a noble house, you’ll scheme, plot, and battle for dominance as war breaks out between two rival kingdoms. With family members stranded on each side of the conflict, you’ll have to play both sides to end up on top by the end.

As the head of your household, you’ll pull strings and twist arms to accrue wealth and prestige. During each game, you will wield influence and muster armies as you climb up the ranks at court. Each action has deep consequences as it shapes the economic, military, and religious power of a kingdom. Of course, you’re not alone in these noble pursuits. Each House has its own ambitions... and secrets. Be vigilant, as a well-timed accusation may bring your enemies to their knees.

Greatness comes at a high cost… if it comes at all. Will you rule with an iron fist or a silver tongue? Are you willing to extend an olive branch or do you prefer a dagger in the back?
The choice is yours, but only one family will win at the end of A Noble War.

Description:

In Arkosa, you’ll be developing your bunker, recruiting unique new colonists and trying to keep your population happy, fed, rested and breathing.

However, the planet won’t make it easy for you. There’ll be regular attacks from the resident hostiles to contend with, plus a whole bunch of unique events that can occur to your intrepid explorers while they are out in the wastelands. In order to claim victory you’ll need a well organised, productive and happy bunker. But only one colony will win the grand prize... a ticket off the planet.

Each player will build and take charge of their own bunker. They will then compete to have the best reputation over the course of 3 rounds. Players will earn reputation points by recruiting new colonists, building new rooms, keeping their colony happy and making successful bribes. The player with the most reputation points at the end of the game will be rescued from planet Arkosa and declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the colony with the highest morale will take the victory.

Arkosa is primarily a strategic game, with a sprinkling of luck here and there to keep things spicy. You’ll need to make the most of the resources available to you and your decisions throughout the game will be key to whether your bunker is deemed worthy of departure into the skies.

Mechanics include: Resource management, base building and a little bit of storytelling

Description

In April of 1948 soviet forces halted the supply of Berlin in the British zone then went on to block land routes in the American zone. This was easy to do since Berlin itself lay deep in the Russian zone. Two million civilians dependent on allied supply watched delivery slow to a trickle. Requiring a daily minimum of 5000 tons of food, fuel, and other necessities, Berliners began dipping into their reserves. American officials estimated they would run out of fuel in 45 days but would run out of food long before that.
The Allies faced a difficult decision. Abandoning the city would be a huge loss of face that could lead to the eventual loss of all of Germany to the communist bloc. On the other hand, with all land routes into Berlin cut the city could only be supplied by air, and was such a thing even possible? The Soviets didn't think so. When the blockade commenced, Americans were only capable of delivering 300 tons of supply a day. Together with the British who could manage 400 daily tons. Officials admitted the tonnage still fell woefully short.

Supplying a major city by air for an indefinite amount of time? Nothing approaching it had ever been attempted. Despite the overwhelming odds, the Allies determined to give it a go. Veteran pilots and aircrews were recalled as disbanded cargo units were refitted and flown back to Europe. The effort was massive... no, it was beyond massive, nevertheless, Stalin was certain the operation would fail. His determined opponents proved him wrong. This Herculean effort is remembered as the West's most selfless accomplishment.

Over the course of 12 months the airlift provided 2,225,510 tons of cargo for the city's survival. At one point an airlift plane was lifting off every four minutes. In the end, more supply was provided to Berlin by air than could have been provided by rail. The Soviets did not stand passively by. There were 726 recorded instances of Soviet harassment involving everything from aerial buzzing, and ground fire to rockets, chemicals, smoke and balloons. In the course of the airlift 25 aircraft were lost, costing the lives of over 100 American, British and German personnel. And during the course of the airlift, many curious and heartwarming incidents enhanced the legend of their effort, including the candy bomber, the tour of Clarence the camel and the Easter Parade.

The Berlin Airlift is a historical treasure begging to be gamed and here we attempt to fit the bill. But a game is only as enjoyable as the conflict it portrays. The game pits players against each other in a race against the clock. Can players overcome accidents, miscommunication and soviet interference to achieve their goals? Who can deliver the most tonnage, and will it be enough for Berliners to survive? Naturally, Berlin Airlift is only representative of the larger enterprise, but in it, players will enjoy tense competition as they face all of the elements these brave allied aircrews faced when the war ended and - the blockade began.

Players will command either a British or American air squadron. Each squadron consists of up to three flights depending upon the number of people playing. Each flight contains from 3 to 5 period aircraft depending upon the scenario and the faction being played. Individual planes have a rated capacity and in some cases are restricted to carrying fuel. The object for each player is to attempt to carry his squadron's tonnage goals in fuel, food, medicine and spare parts into the city and carry refugees and finished products out (cargo is represented by colored cubes). Each turn the ACTIVE player rolls two dice, consults either the Personality chart, the Help & Hindrance or the Soviet Harassment Chart to determine effects, then begins drawing flight chits to determine who moves when. Strategy enters into the Active player's assignment of problems, decision making as to what to carry and who to fix, what base to return to and how to block opponents from reaching their goals. Oh, but players must be careful, for there is a cooperative aspect to the game. Players have to keep up the Berliner Morale for if it remains in the negative range after the final flight has delivered its cargo Berlin loses and so do all players.

Description:

Around 800BC China was blossoming as a civilization. The Zhou emperor sat on the throne of a feudal China and ruled through wise philosophers, able warlords, and a strong army. The Chinese world was making huge cultural, scientific, and philosophical strides.

But a single generation later, those same advisors and lords rose up against the throne, and each other, to claim hegemony for their philosophy and way of life. Welcome to the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China.

Spring and Autumn: Story of China is a 4X civilization game in which you take control of one of the pre-eminent states of the time to explore the world around you, expand your borders, research powerful advancements, build up your economy, and bring honor upon your name. Your goal is to establish the first true dynasty in China.

Spring and Autumn: Story of China expands on the system from in Hellenica: Story of Greece, introducing all-new gameplay elements like a philosophy system, diplomacy, enhanced combat, honor, expanded victory conditions, the Great Wall, and did we mention Chinese dragons? As with all "Story of" games, Spring and Autumn: Story of China will include the best AI and solo play system available in a 4x game.

Can you guide your civilization during these turbulent times? Will your vision of Chinese civilization be remembered for all time, or will you merely be a stepping stone for another…?

Players: 1-6
Play Time: 20-300 min

Description:
Daimyo: Battle For Japan is a boxed, 1-6 player game set during "The Warring Period" of Feudal Japan's history.
The game can be played differently depending on your preference. Campaign games will take several hours of patient scheming and intense warfare. “Freestyle” game may take less than half an hour!

The Campaign mode is a city builder, worker placement game that has been folded with a clan “management simulator”. Playing as the historical Daimyo (head) of your clan, rise to the top with Retainers, Legendary items and beautiful additions to his castle or domain!
Be nefarious by hiring Ninja, importing guns or even trading with Christians! Dominate the other clans or become their better by any means necessary!
The Campaign mode is currently planned to have “save points” so you can come back to the game as a group if you desired a shorter play session.

The Battle mode starts with a small but slick deck builder mechanic where the player recruits an army of 12 cards. Each “unit” card representing units of Samurai and Ashigaru.
Battling another clan involves taking this army into the field or into a siege and playing a "battle mode" game that combines your units positioning, strengths and your leader's orders to win in modified "highest roll value" dice combats. There are hundreds of combinations of army to explore as a General in Feudal Japan.

Daimyo: Battle For Japan has no “true” player elimination mechanic. If the Daimyo and his Heir are killed then the player becomes a “Ronin”, or master-less Samurai, who can engage in banditry and still influence the game’s end result with new asymmetrical abilities.

This will be a combined campaign with Senjtsu (not yet in the database), which is a 2 player miniatures skirmish game set in the same period.
