This is a list of upcoming anticipated board games to be launched for Kickstarter. Please help this list by adding a game with a launch date (or estimated), as it's difficult to know everything coming up in the pipeline. If you have any pertinent information regarding a games Kickstarter launch or development, feel free to comment with that as well.

Please use the standard format (with geeklinks) for items added to the list, and then any other info OR pictures may be added as a comment below! It helps significantly to keep this list organized with a standard format and not to include anything extra in the geeklist item header itself. Any geeklist item not following this format is subject to deletion.

Description

PUBLISHERS: Hopefully this will be a great list for you to generate some traffic to your project before it launches. I'll do my best to keep arranging these in order by estimated release date as games are added.

Once a game has been launched on Kickstarter, It will be removed a few days after launch (3-7 days), as there are plenty of devoted lists and posts for active Kickstarter projects. Due to life demands right now of opening Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour, I am MIA on BGG activity and usually only updating this list monthly. After things calm down I hope to get back to the list more regularly. Special thanks to those whom are managing their additions and marking games as launched and completed to help keep the list cleaned up.

This is a list for only upcoming and unlaunched projects. Please feel free to geekmail me if you have any questions.

Thanks for subscribing and enjoy!

*disclaimer: This list is not anything definitive to a project launching on the estimated date, or time, or even launching period, as project creators/publishers may change plans without notice.

Battle of GOG
Launching on 8th June 2021

Kickstarter prelaunch:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vitaliminin/battle-of-g...

Battle of GOG is a light strategy board game for 2-4 players, it challenges to find 5 sacred scrolls as they battle over the ancient land of Canaan. It's an entry level game for new players while creating a unique playthrough for seasonal players.

Easy mechanics and gameplay involves complex strategic thinking.

Simple rules! Complex results!

Sometimes you need to carefully consider whether to make a move that will benefit you or one that will put your opponent at a disadvantage. You need to weigh many different pathways to victory: conquer cities, fight enemy soldiers, obtain the scrolls, or reach all 4 corners of the map to make a winning move.

With so many factors involved, even establishing 3 cities in the most abundant map areas won`t ensure your victory, as Ability Cards and Treasure Chest Cards can make the difference in a critical situation.

Lastly, remember that the Oracle of the game is GOG' and that he has the power to save you from the Angel of Retribution!

Description

The Bloodstone is an evil and powerful relic that enchants any who possess it. We pick up our story with an interesting cast of characters from all over the realm. They all have very different stories about how they became entrapped in the arena. Nightly, they fight to the death only to be resurrected and made to do it all over again at the sorceress' whim.

In Bloodstone, you control one of the characters and use a custom dice mechanism to determine your attacks and movements, using your miniature to move around the arena and engage in combat. You hope someday to escape this damned place, but tonight...you fight!

Description

In The Palaces of Carrara, players want to buy the marble from this famous region of Italy as cheaply as possible – but any reduction in price will benefit opponents as well. Maybe you'll find it profitable to instead invest in the buildings created from this marble? Maybe it'll be more worthwhile to grab the expensive raw material when bigger buildings in town turn out to be not so lucrative?

The game includes two levels of play: beginner and advanced. Co-designer Wolfgang Kramer says, "To understand the game, it's important that players play the beginner version to learn the game mechanisms and how they mesh together."

Description

In the centre of a vast, but secret forest stands the Arch-Oak – a majestic tree that was already a sapling when the world was still young. It is even said that from its wood, the Gods crafted the first humans and animals.

Druidic Orders from far and wide flock together around its roots to bathe in its glory. Arch-Druids sanctify sacred places and erect rune-etched monoliths, while Bards tell the tallest tales to recruit a greater following. Ovates read the omens to gain a glimpse of the things to come, while Sacrificers use force to defend their Order’s beliefs.

Oak puts you in the role of the leader of one of four different Druid orders, where you will try to establish that your Order deserves to be chosen by the Arch-Oak’s spirit to stay and learn its secrets. Your order will start out small and insignificant. But if you choose your actions wisely and use your Druids efficiently, you will see it grow in power and stature. You will gain the friendship and help of otherworldly creatures like the mischievous brownie, the terrible merrow and the magical pixies. You will learn powerful spells of the Wild and uncover mighty artifacts. You might even risk upsetting the natural balance by creating new sacred places in the forest to house your growing flock of Druids.

Will you be able to prove to the Arch-Oak that your Order is worthy? Will you be able to unlock the secrets of the Ancients?

Kickstarting Date: Q1 2022

Designer: Adam Hill, Ben Pinchback, Matt Riddle

Publisher: Motor City Gameworks

Players:
1–4 Players
Play Time: 45–60 Min

Description:

Motor City is a strategic roll-and-write game about running an auto plant in the heydey of Detroit.

In Motor City, you have two player sheets, each with multiple areas. The Plant has testing, assembly, and supply chain. The Office has engineering, prototype shop, and management.

These areas are represented by tracks that you will mark off as you make progress. Many of the tracks are interconnected with other elements in the game, giving you bonuses along the way and opportunities to unlock more points. Advancing on all of these tracks offers various amounts of points, advancements, and bonuses.

The game lasts eight rounds. Each round, roll colored dice based on the number of players, then place them on spaces on the action chart based on value and color. Each player drafts one die and uses it. Once everyone has drafted a die twice, all players get to use the remaining die on the action chart.

Each die you draft lets you do three things, which you do in this order:

Collect the bonus of the space from which you removed the die.
Take the action associated with the space from which you removed the die (or an alternate action).
Take the action of the space on your sheet where you placed the die.
Then all players receive the action associated with the space of the remaining die.

After eight rounds, you score points for your progress in engineering, assembly, testing, and more. Whoever has the most points wins.

Motor City has a solo mode in which you try to top your own score against an auditor that drafts dice and blocks areas of your sheet.

Motor City is game 3 of the Motor City Gameworks Loaded Roll and Write series.

Game 1: Fleet: The Dice Game
Game 2: Three Sisters
Game 3: Motor City

Secret Unknown Stuff: Escape from Dulce -- The Re-Escapening

Kickstarter Date Late 2021

Designer Donna Ackerson, Craig E. Sawyer, Chris Weller
Artist Mo Moussa
Publisher Sentient Cow Games

Players 1-5
Play Time 40-180

Description

Escape from Dulce is the first in a trilogy of collaborative, sci-fi adventure games for 1 to 5 players. Choose from one of 8 hilariously bizarre characters, who have been imprisoned on the bottom level of the Dulce Base and have just awoken after a Cryo-Pod malfunction. The players must blast their way through a base full of self strategizing human and non-human enemies, as they attempt to traverse the seven nefarious levels of Dulce and escape to freedom.

Along the way you’ll collect zany items, incredible weapons and level up your characters, while constantly working to keep the alarm from reaching critical levels and releasing the dreaded Man in Black.

The game is more than just blasting enemies though, as a tale slowly unfolds in the form of story themed Encounter Cards, randomly drawn every time the players enter a new room. The story portion of the card describes the room and what happens to the players while in that room, while the business portion of the card dictates what traps or puzzles and enemies the players must overcome. The Encounter Cards create the feeling of a lived in world and allow for maximum replayability and role-play fun.

Will you play as Snippy Von Bell, a two-headed mutant cow that can strap machine guns on its back, or Amelia Earhart, a pilot who disappeared in 1937 over the Pacific? Maybe you’ll meet a helpful sasquatch or have to decide if you should release an Atlantean fishman from his aquarium cell. Tentacle monsters, robot ninjas, a game of lizard man chess and even a mini black hole await you! Good luck escaping. You’re going to need it.

Description:
Europe, 1805. Emperor Napoleon prepares his La Grande Armée for a perilous invasion of the United Kingdom. Only the might of the Royal Navy stands between him and the British Isles – that and Napoleon’s own meddling in international politics.

2-player game of military conquest and diplomatic realignment, of bold action and meticulous planning, playable in a couple of hours.

players simultaneously play two cards. One for its initiative value and up to two actions, and the other one for its various military and diplomatic effects. Each player has a hand of 10 cards and playing any given card makes it unavailable for next 2-3 turns. And there are always the two national questions looming ahead. The French can recreate Poland and take over Spain, but will the gains outweigh the costs?

Description

“Beyond Humanity: Astrominers” is a board game for 2 to 4 players (up to 6 with an expansion) in which players manage competing groups of space miners extracting minerals from the asteroid belt. The challenge comes in planning how to manage your personnel and resources through a variety of missions to extract minerals and outmaneuver the competition. Build the wealth of your Corporation, and fuel financial and material success. Be careful to not be left behind, for to the victor go the spoils.

According to the current scientific knowledge of potential space mining missions, players extract seven resources: Water, Xenon, Plasteel, Tungsten, Nickel, Palladium, and Gold, on three different types of asteroids: S-Type, C-Type, and M-Type.

The game uses a collection of custom six-sided dice (7 for each player) with icons representing four types of workers: miners, automatons, geologists and inspectors.
Workers availability is determined by the dice rolls each round, and a skillful management of those worker dice is necessary for effective resource extraction. Players draw Mission cards to their hand and then perform the Missions by placing the Mission card on the Mining Barge in the Dock and gradually filling its fields with worker dice. Order cards are first drawn to the player hand by placing a die with a geologist icon on the Refinery field, and then redeemed at the end of the round by paying the cost indicated on it to receive the victory points marked on the card. In addition, the game features a resource exchange, an Achievement set collection and a set of Executive Cards, providing more possible actions and ways to victory.
Orders, Missions, Achievements, and gathered resources are the means to collect Victory Points.

Watch out, magnetic components and boards

Game of Hunt includes four different family board games in one book with magnetic components. All games are fully cooperative, each has its own story and different rules. Players work together, move around the maps and pick up objects by using the cards.

In the "Trash monster" devil game players will be cleaning the town hunting trash cubes until they pick them all. Trash cubes are thrown by a cute flying monster who takes turns after each player's turn.

In the "Mushroom forest" game players help small gnomes to pick up enough mushrooms for the soup. However, the forest is magical and some mushrooms can teleport a player to a completely different place.

In the "Another planet" goo game players travel to a different galaxy and help a friendly alien to collect all the resources. Mind the wind forecast since it blows players away after each player's turn.

In the "Monkey temple" bluetaj: game players go to the ancient temple full of strange moving monkey statues. The treasure will be the players' reward if they find a way to stop all of the statues.

The choice of the board side matters
The side of the board you're sitting at matters. Players can sit near different sides of the board and they will have different perspectives. Thus, going “to the left” for one player may be “to the right” for another. You will have to think about that when planning your actions and swapping the cards between players.

Description:
Patria Libre is a game that recreate the historic events occurred in Mexico (New Spain) 1810–1821 between the Insurgents who sought to separate from Spain and the Royalists who tried to prevent it.
It is played with two sides, insurgents and royalists.
2 to 4 players may participate.
The side that obtains more victory points will be the winner at the end.
Use orders that will allow you to recruit, move, attack, and level-up your units, collect taxes or gain victory points, build a stronghold, or buy event or character cards. Your objective is to gain more victory points than the other side. To achieve this you must control key regions and use cards akin to your faction. Climbing rising in popularity will help a lot.
Cards are essential. With them you can buy characters that joins your faction or event cards that will grant you interesting rewards.
Popularity is very important in this game, if you have the support of the people, you will be able to strongly link your orders, however, without the people´s approval, your cause will dwindle .
Historically, characters changed factions, this is also true in the game. So a few characters may change their minds over time, according to their preferences, sadly joining the opposing side.

Batman: Escape from Arkham Asylum

Kickstarting Date: 26th October 2021

Designer Jose M. Caballero Delso, Sergio García Vicente
Artist Juan García, Israel Pato
Publisher: Knight Games (III)

Players: 1 - 5
Play Time: 30 minutes

Description

Batman: Escape from Arkham Asylum is a semi-cooperative dungeon crawl for 1 to 5 players in which the Super Villains of the Batman universe are the protagonists. This is one of the few games where you must defeat Batman, and that gives the player the opportunity to play as dozens of characters. The players will put themselves in the shoes of the most iconic Super Villains of Gotham City: The Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, The Penguin, Bane, Poison Ivy and The Scarecrow. The goal? Escape from an iconic institution of Gotham City: Arkham Asylum.

Batman: Escape from Arkham Asylum offers the funny and wild vision of the comics of the Batman universe and introduces a novel element: confronting Batman. Players must join forces to achieve their common goal. However, each one of them will have their own hidden objectives, which can range from escaping on their own or sowing as much chaos as possible in the asylum, something they must achieve to gain an advantage over their companions and be the one who finally wins the victory.

The players choose a Super Villain and play their turns one after the other. In each of these turns, the players can perform different actions such as moving around on the board, attacking their enemies with crazy weapons, searching rooms or crafting tools to use in their escape. The game ends when the players escape or when everyone is defeated by the forces of order that run Arkham, from the tough guards of the complex to, of course, the Dark Knight himself.

Play Time: 60+ minutes

Description: Puppeteer is a negotiation tabletop game, based on the universe of the strategic prequel Electioneer. This time players play as party leaders to vote and make agreements among themselves to allocate the districts of Hong Kong. Players may win by being the Puppet or the Puppeteer.

The game plays over a total of 6 rounds.
In convention phases of each round, candidates may freely negotiate with one another and make agreements to trade your voting decision and influence cubes in that round. Once an agreement is dealt, it is normally enforced for that round. Then all candidates cast their votes. The candidate with the most votes wins the election in this round and he can allocate Zone cards to all candidates. If there is a tie, the leading candidates with most votes will enter Black Box phase to battle each other by bidding influence cubes.

Two types of winners: At the end of the game, VPs will be scored to the candidates who have majorities in each of the 5 regions.
Puppet: Candidate with the highest VPs wins the game.
Puppeteer: Candidate who holds the most Puppet’s influence cubes also win the game together.
