I'm merely keeping the contest going until Cerith returns.

Newish Feature:

One random thumber will receive a bonus of 5bag!

Contest Rules:

1) Add the game of the miniature(s) you painted as an item to the list. You may submit images of a single miniature or a group at your discretion.

2) The image you submit must have been uploaded during May 2015. Gallery images are okay but submitted images are preferred. As they've gone through the rigorous geek mod process it means at least someone has checked the submission conforms to BGG guidelines and it's also easier to check the submission date. The contest will end on 30 June 2015.

3) Please use the format [imageid=xxxxxmedium] where xxxxx is the id of the picture. Medium should be sufficient please do not use large.

4) You are the artist. Please do not submit miniatures painted by someone else.

5) One entry per person. You may, however, use either:

a. up to two 'normal' pictures of your entry, usually, the front and back of the miniature(s); OR
b. one image of a montage/collage of your entry.

6) The winner will be the picture with the most thumbs. You can thumb as many entries as you like.

7) If you can please note the make of the mini, scale and what paints you used in your entry.

Prizes:

I'm reliant on tips to offer prizes. Any tips received will awarded as follows:

1st place: 35%
2nd place: 25%
3rd place: 15%
Encouragement Awards 25%

Note I have altered this at my discretion - this may change when Cerith retakes the reigns.

Encouragement awards will be given to non-placing worthy entries with a bias to new participants. New painters are particularly welcome to enter and pleas do use the comment section for each miniature to discuss painting techniques, materials, share tutorial videos & etc.

Judging at the end of the month and winners will appear in the next months’ list.

1st place will now also receive an exclusive microbadge! mb

Please give this geeklist a thumb to help get it to the front page. The more contestants the better!

And don't forget to click on the images you like and give the actual images thumbs up as well!

Not painted for the game pictured. Rather, this is a toy from the 'Star Wars Command' toy range that I painted for my eldest son. Actually, he received a set of the nine miniatures and we painted them together (along with his little brother).

I chose this game as it seems to be the closest fit for the miniature which was actually uploaded to the Miniature Painters Guild files. These files aren't moderated (so no ) but as I couldn't really match it to any set it seemed a good fit here.

So, in future if anyone is having trouble with geekmods this might be another option to get your image uploaded.

The paint scheme was inspired by a Sorastro YouTube tutorial which we watched together and then had fun trying to match the GW paints suggested to what I had on-hand. I ended up using Vellajo and P3 paints and (very old) GW inks.

A quick paint job.
I painted 95% of this model before the paint dried. I added water to keep it wet and let the colors flow together. After it dried I touched up a few spots and added a wash to the base and rock.

Some Silvans for Blood Bowl, coming from the Greebo range.

A team that makes you work on your skin tones.

The challenge here was to have different skin hues, without going full rainbow. There's 3 main variations on the team (Caucasian, tanned and drow, but no drow on this picture, obviously), each with either a different shading or highlighting. Same goes for their hair, none are strictly alike.

We're pretty happy with the result, there's unity though they aren't elves-clones =)

Painted with Citadel, 28mm minis.

The whole team can be seen here.

Finished painting the CW cultists in may (Black Goat and Crawling Chaos).

Since they're all the same sculpt with a different colour scheme I just put 1 entry, but let me know if I should create a second one.

Painted mostly with Vallejo Model (plus a few Army Painter & Citadel).

These are the core game heroes from Guardians' Chronicles: Super Nova, Adam Spell, Sgt. Freedom, and Golden Boy ... I just love those "generic" names!

As those familiar with the Kickstarter campaign for this game remember well, the original miniatures in the core set were, well, crap. Backers were promised "hobby-quality miniatures," but instead we got plastic blobs. After receiving many complaints, Iello and Red Joker said they would re-do the molds and provide backers with replacements; and we waited many months to receive them.

Well, these are the replacements... still not hobby-quality, but at least a bit better than the original blobs. So, with the less-than-stellar detail of the sculpts, I know these won't be winning any awards here, but hey, it's superheroes! A change of pace from all the fantasy and sci-fi minis in my collection.

These minis are 31mm scale according to Iello. They are painted with craft acrylics. Thanks for looking!
