Normal Challenge

I except the challenge of playing 10 games 10 times (or more ) this year.
I had already played a lot of games before I excepted this challenge, but I don't know them all exactly.
I therefor only count the games I know for sure (like some remarkable dates ).
For already played games I'll try to remember the number of players and how about scoring.
From today I'll keep track of them all.

This is the list voor my Normal Challenge (some names are the Dutch names):
Escape: The Curse of the Templemeeple-finished+2
A la cartemeeple-finished
Ticket to Ridemeeple-finished
Patchworkmeeple-finished+8x
Sushi Go!meeple-finished+9x
Metropolismeeple-finished+1x
Machi Koromeeple-finished
Colt Expressmeeple-finished+8x
Camel (C)Upmeeple-finished+2x
Imperial Settlersmeeple-finished

Progress: 100% completed (+30%)

So this challenge is done.

Escape: The Curse of the Templemeeple-finished(+2x)

3-7-2015:
2 times played, 3 players each
First time I've played this game. We've played the base game only, because it's totally new to us.
The music added a lot of stress to the game, which is perfect.
Both times we've succeeded to Escape, but second time was a close call.

3-8-2015:
4 times played, 2, 3 or 4 players
One day after I got this game and we tried it for the first time, we now know the game, so we can speed up.
It was a lot of fun and my son don't want to play it with music for a while. He thought the music was to tense.
We succeeded every single game.

3-22-2015:
1 play, 3 players
Today we learned my mother-in-law this game. laugh
The game was a mess. She cheated blush, she stressed out and lost control .
But we had a lot of fun again. But this time because of her whistle.
(We didn't escaped, but to see her stress like that, was worth it all.)

5-31-2015:
2 times played, 2 players each
I bought 3 expansions for Escape at BGG.com-market. Doomed, Fountain and The Pit.
Today we tried them.
First time we played also with the modules of the base game, 'Curses' and 'Treasure'. We died before the second countdown (totally blocked our dice and no spare-gems left).
Second time we didn't add the modules, but only the 3 expansions. We succeeded, right after the second countdown.
For those two games you can also read my blog.

6-30-2015:
1 play, 5 players
Today I took some games to school to play with my students.
This was one of the games I taught them to play.
It was a lot of fun, with a lot of stress (and some cheating, for they forgot some rules whistle).
We didn't succeeded in escaping, but they liked the game anyway.

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
Further games will count for my hardcore list.

A la cartemeeple-finished

5-23-2015:
4 times played, 3 or 4 players
My daughter got this game for her birthday, so we had to learn and play this game off course. It was easy to learn and it played easy to (if you were lucky ).
With some family as our guests we played this game several times and had a lot of fun. My youngest brother played like an expert (he has all the luck, I pressume).
So three times played, three times lost (for my, not my brother...).

6-21-2015:
2 plays, 2 or 3 players
First play against my daughter.
I'd managed to complete two star-worthy-dishes, but at the end of the game I only got 15 point. My daughter won with 22 points.

The second play was against my daughter and my mother-in-law (her first play of this game).
It was a lot of fun to see her preparing the dishes.
At the end my daughter and I collected for 17 points of dishes, where my mother-in-law collected 18 points. So first play for her and immediatly a win.

6-28-2015:
1 play, 5 players
Today there were some friends at our place, so we had to play a game.
Finally my wife learned this game also, even as our friends.
We added the expansion Dessert to the game, but without the menu's.
We had a lot of fun, but lot of dishes ended in the trashcan.
I don't know anymore who won the game, but probably not me.

7-4-2015:
1 play, 4 players
A friend of my daughter slept at our place and she had to learn a few new games (as study-project for school ).
We choose this game, because it has an original way of playing a game.
We added the expansion again, but this time also the menu's.
Final scoring: 24, 16, 15 and 0 (I had 15, my daugthers friend had a lot of bad luck and finished with 0 dishes).

7-19-2015:
1 play, 3 players
We were visiting family, so I played it with my daughter and youngest brother. We added Dessert including the menu's.
I started with some good dishes, but then the luck was over. I didn't managed to complete my third dish (for my menu) and my brother ended the game very fast with five dishes.
Final scoring:
- my brother: 19 points (5 dishes completed, with two stars also and he completed his menu)
- me: 11 points (with only 2 dishes completed surprise)
- my daughter: 4 points (only one dish but with a lot of risk she'd tried to beat us )

8-11-2015:
1 play, 4 players
We had some guests over to stay, so we have to play some games and this was one of them. I had some bad luck with my menu and the others didn't... It cost me the game, I think. I was almost ready with my last dish, which would make me finish my menu. And then my daughter finished her fifth dish... Too bad. But we had fun trying to flip our pancakes.
Final score:
- my brother: 14 points (3 dishes completed, two stars and almost his third and he completed his menu for 5 points)
- my daughter: 26 points (5 dishes and a menu for 5 points completed)
- her girlfriend: 11 points (3 dishes, a bonus-point and her menu completed and one star)
- me: 12 points (only 3 dishes completed)

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
Further games will count for my Hardcore List.

Ticket to Ridemeeple-finished

5-31-2015:
1 play, 5 players, USA-version (+1910)
I had a little bit of bad luck, because my start-tickets weren't good to combine. So I took the risk and kept them all 5.
I managed to complete them, but that didn't helped a lot.
I wasn't last (4th ) but we had fun today.

6-7-2015:
1 play, 3 players, Switzerland
Together with my wife and youngest son I played the board of Switzerland this time. I always like this board and tickets (where you have to connect countries or cities to one of the country).
With building tracks the scoring was 58-42-59, for tickets 81-91-33 and with the 10 bonuspoints for longest track the final score was 149-133-92. A win for me this time.

6-13-2015:
1 play, 3 players, Switzerland and Dice
This night our eldest two went out (for two different party's), so we had our youngest three to spent some quality-time with. We went out to eat pancakes.
Back at home our youngest kid has to sleep, but with the other two I played TtR-Swiss. Because of the time we use the dice-expansion, this make the game faster. I helped them if necessary, but won anyway.
If you like TtR but don't have time to play, use the dice.laugh

8-3-2015:
1 play, 2 players, USA-version (+1910)
We played TtR again. This time the USA-version.
My daughter started building very soon, so I was forced to do it too. After a while she starts to get new tickets already and I wasn't even close with finishing mine.
One time she got a ticket (20 points) which she already completed. So I though I would loose the game.
However at the end I was able to get some extra tickets (11 in the end) and I guess that made me win the game.
Final score: 216 vs 129.
I had 11 tickets completed, my daughter 9 (and 3 not).
I build 59 points for tracks, my daughter 52.
I've got 132 points from my tickets, my daughter 77.
And I've earned both bonuscards (most completed tickets and longest route).

8-9-2015:
1 play, 3 players, Switzerland
With my brother coming over we had to play some games including TtR.
I had a little bit of bad luck with my tickets. They didn't combine that good and also a later ticket made it more difficult finish and get more tickets.
But I had the longest route
Final score: brother 156, wife 128, me 129.
Points for tracks: 54, 47, 52.
Points for tickets: 102 (11 completed), 81 (10 completed), 67 (5blush completed).

8-11-2015:
1 play, 2 players, Nordic Countries
This time against my brother. We both build a lot and I was lucky with my cards. I build the 9-pieces-track with 9 cards.
My brother finished his tickets first (I guess) because he took new tickets first.
Final score: 93 vs 177 (sorry brother).
I build tracks for 64 points, he 50.
I finished 10 tickets for 103 points, he 5 for 56 points and he had an unfinished tickets. I had the bonuspoints for most finished tickets.

8-26-2015:
1 play, 2 players, USA-version (+1910) and Dice
This play was with my youngest son and because we hadn't enough time to play the long version, we used the dice-expansion.
I like the quick play with that. You build a track (single or double) or gain new tickets.
I let my son choose his own tickets, so he chooses some short ones.
He eventually completed 12 tickets (against my 13) and gained 62 points for building tracks. His tickets gave him another 129!! points.
I gained 70 points for building tracks and gained 118 points for tickets, which isn't bad either. I earned the two bonuspoints for completing most tickets and making longest track.
Final scoring: 213 vs 191

8-30-2015:
1 play, 4 players, USA-version (+1910)
A play with my wife and my two eldest daughters.
I always like a play with more than 2/3 players, because you have to fight for tracks more. And this time several tracks were build just before someone else would have done that.
I had several good tickets, so I almost build an East-West-track. I didn't build a track from Phoenix to LA. In the round where I drew new tickets, my wife build that track (just before I drew the tickets) and I had a ticket to LA.
However, a lot of fun, some bad luck with drawing tickets or just be to late with building.
Final scoring (points for tracks+points for completed tickets-points for incompleted tickets+bonuspoints):
My wife (9 tickets completed, 6 not): 64+122-43+10=153 points.
My eldest daughter (8 tickets completed): 61+108=169 points.
My second daughter (4 tickets completed, 1 not): 59+61-8=112 points.
Me (10 tickets completed, 2 not): 59+92-27+15=149 points.
So I became third.

9-5-2015:
1 play, 3 players, Switzerland
Tonight my wife and I played this version with our second daughter.
It's funny to play Ticket to Ride with her, because she can play this very well.
At the end it appears that she probably could have kept a lot more tickets, because she misunderstood some tickets. She had a lot of fun and so did we.
For building tracks the scores were: 54, 55, 52.
For completed tickets the scores were: 52, 79, 114.
My wife earned the bonuspoints for the longest route.
Final scoring: 106, 141, 161. My 114 points for my 12 tickets made me win the game. Yeea.

9-22-2015:
1 play, 2 players, Switzerland
We played a quick game by adding the dice expansion, so my son will not sleep that late.
He, and therefor also me, enjoyed playing a game with me alone right before bedtime. It's always good to have some quality-time with just one kid.
Final scoring? Does it matter? Only for the record: I won by ticket-points, the rest we tied almost everything. (203-152)

Patchworkmeeple-finished(+8x)

5-17-2015:
2 plays, 2 players (off course)
I bought this as a gift for my wife. So we played it 1 time together. The other play was with my daughter.
I managed to win both times.

5-24-2015:
3 plays
2 playes were with my daughter but she had all the luck (I think I made some unfortunate choices).
Also a play with my wife. She won too, so it wasn't my day at all....
I love the game though.

6-7-2015:
2 plays
First play with my wife. She started better with way better income. But I managed to buy some good parts, so I won (36 vs 10).blush
Second play was with my eldest daughter. This time I had bad income also, but that didn't get better during the play. I get the 7-bonus, but that didn't helped me much. I lost (-8 vs 23).cry

6-13-2015:
1 play
This play is better to forget fast. My wife scores 16 points, me...9 (less cry).

6-14-2015:
1 play
This time I've played this game against my daughter. I won the game, with more income, because her Patchwork was more finished than mine.

6-19-2015:
1 play
Against my daughter again. This time my income was good, but my pieces worse. At the end we finished with the same amount of buttons (23), but she finished first so won the game.

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
Further games will count for my hardcore list.

Because I've finished my hardcore list too, I'll now count 10 plays here and than there and so on.

5-5-2015:
1 play, 4 players
We love to play this quick cardgame.
There are usualy enough players to get 4.
And its fun to see all different stragegies.

5-7-2015:
5 plays, 4 players
Today we had a lot of played games and also Sushi Go! had to be played several times. I don't know all scorings anymore, but it was fun for sure.

6-13-2015:
2 plays, 3 players each
Every Saterdaymorning two kids have swimminglessons. But not at the same time... and very early for a Saterday...snore
So I wait in the restaurant where I can see them swim.
This morning one of the other kids came along, so we waited with three persons while the other is swimming.
I thought 'why wait if you can play Sushi Go!?'.
So first I played this game with kid 2 and 3, while kid 4 was swimming.
Second time I played with kid 2 and 4, while 3 was swimming.
It makes waiting a lot more fun...

6-28-2015:
1 play, 5 players
Today we taught our friends this game.
We had a lot of fun and they liked the game.
Final scoring: 38, 33 (me), 30, 25, 22.

6-30-2015:
1 play, 5 players
Today I'd took several games to school to play with the students.
This was one of the games I'd played today. (There where some games I'd only explained.)
I don't know our final scoring, but know the most of them liked Escape - The Curse of the Temple more.

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
I'll count my further plays, but won't write about it.modest

6-7-2015:
1 play, 2 players
Played this game together with my wife.
In a two-player-game there is always a run for villas.
At this game my wife build the first two. But I managed to build 4 at last and that made me win.
Final score: 69 vs 46

6-14-2015:
1 play, 2 players
Against my eldest daughter. And she beat me just one turn to early. And I had 4 villas....

7-31-2015:
1 play, 2 players
This was a while ago.
I was able to build some buildings that creats good income very quick in the game. At the end of the game I was at 20 cards of income (my daughter had 10, which can be more then enough).
She was able to buy some buildings with high points. So I had to end the game before she does (she was almost there).
In my last turn I build 2 villas (so I had 5 now) and ended with 76 points vs 46.

8-2-2015:
1 play, 2 players
I had high income soon in this game (again). I missed a Construction Gang. Normally I wait to be able to build this one, but now I've build the Architect instead (for income off course).
Therefor I just was to late with building my villas and my wife won the game with 50 vs 48 points.

8-11-2015:
1 play, 3 players
I played it this time with/against my brother and my wife and we re-read the rules again (there was a rule that could be interpreted two or three ways), but then we could start playing.
At our second last turn we all counted our points, because my brother wanted to know the score. It appears that both my wife and I had 40+ points. So I need to build my best building. And I did, I build the metro which was (only) 8 points.
Final scoring: 55 vs 50 vs 36 (I won).

10-11-2015:
1 play, 2 players
Play against my eldest daughter. She was low on her income (11), while I had a high income very soon (ended at 28). Therefor I had a lot of good cards very soon.
But because I didn't want to finish the game that soon, I saved a few good ones for later. I waited to long.....
My daughter ended up with 50 points and ended the game, I had 42 points at that moment, but wanted to play my best cards one turn later so I could finish the game way over 50 points... Too late, too bad. I lostcry

10-17-2015:
1 play, 2 players
This time again with my daughter. But the mistake I've made last time, I won't make again.
So I start building villa's as soon as I've got them.
I ended up with 5 villa's so final score was 22 vs 67.
This was a very quick game though.

10-20-2015:
1 play, 2 players
With my wife in Germany on a holiday. Always time for a short game.
This play was in my advantage. I had 5 villa's soon, but kept them (build 3 in the end), which costs me the game again. I think I'm to kind. Was a little bit unlucky with my 'Construction Crew', it showed up too late.
Final score 56 vs 32 (my wife build 1 villa).

10-21-2015:
1 play, 2 players
A play against my wife again. This time I will build my villa's as soon as I get them.
But I didn't got them... I build 1, my wife 4 and that killed my game. I wasn't lucky at all. Didn't manage too build that much. But we enjoy spending time together.

11-22-2015:
1 play, 4 players
A play with my wife and my eldest two daughters.
I managed to create income very fast, so I had a good city running.
Final score: 51 (I owned 3 villa's)-41-22-33.

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
I'll keep counting my plays, but don't write about it anymore.

Machi Koromeeple-finished

4-4-2015:
1 play, 3 or 4 players
First time I played with the harbour expansion. And almost immediatly the last time I played without it. It added a lot of extra choices, which made it a lot more challenging in choosing your stragegy.

6-8-2015:
1 play, 2 players
Played together with my youngest son. He doesn't always make the best choices for buildings, but loves the game anyway.
Therefor I was able to win this game by building my six special buildings first.

6-20-2015:
1 play, 3 players
I played it against my wife and her mother (yes, my mother-in-law).
I had a very slow start, my income was terrible.
At the end however, I'd managed to build some marveless buildings, which gain a lot of income in the last two rounds (over 30 coins). It made me win the game very fast at the end.

7-16-2015:
1 play, 2 players
I've bought the second expansion Metropool today, so I had to play it today.
It add a lot of new buildings which make you take some different choices. My daughter was way ahead with her special buildings, so I considered the game lost. But with my 'Beleggersgebouw' (don't know the English name) I gained some discount for my special buildings which made me win the game at last.

7-17-2015:
1 play, 3 players
Again a play with both expansions. This time I've build a lot of purple buildings (which I don't often do).
However, my daughter had more luck on income and her purple sixes, so she won. I had three more special buildings to go, my son also two.
Better luck next time.

7-19-2015:
1 play, 3 players
While visiting family this game also was played.
We taught my little brother the expansions (he only knew the base game) 'De Haven' and 'Metropool', which he liked a lot.
The game started slowly, because of the high-dice-cards in the market, so income was low in the beginning.
And I made the stupid choice and bought the cards which give me a lot of money when throwing 11 (or even 12), but then make me divide the money over all players (Park...). So their income was better then .
However, it didn't cost me the game. I won, where my daughter only needed the Radiostation and my brother the Radiostation and the Airport.

7-23-2015:
1 play, 2 players
The market at the start was a little bit unlucky.

That killed my game. yuk
The view times I got money it was at the turn of my wife or there wasn't anything to buy for me. And at my turn, I hardly had any income, while my wife collected a lot of money. The 'Money Lending Office' wasn't a good card for me in this play.
At the end I've only build the Harbor and Trainstation as Landmarks.

7-26-2015:
2 play, 3 players (#1) & 5 players (#2)
First a play against two of my daughters.
I won with a lot of money left (32 coins). My eldest daughter bought the Harbor, Trainstation and Shopping Mall, my second daughter the Harbor and Trainstation.

In the evening we played it again (in the morning we were with 6, but it isn't for 6 players, so we had to wait untill the evening, when my our youngest son went to bed).
This time my eldest daughter and I were bad in income again. Halfway the play we had an agreement that we (when possible) should not attack eachother.
At the end the battle between our eldest son, our second daughter and my wife was exciting. Who would collect the needed money for the last Landmark first.
At my turn, my wife collected all needed money first (16+ for her Amusement Park).
Our second daughter was next, she builded nothing so she collects 10 coins because of her Airport and was close to her needed 22, but hadn't enough yet.shake
Than it was the turn of our son. He threw 12, so he lost al his money to my wife. But because of already earning the Radiostation, he rerolled. And he earned his last 6 coins to collect 30 coins exactly and build his Airport and won the game.laugh
Our eldest daughter builded her Trainstation and her Radiostation.
I only managed to build the Harbor and the Trainstation. cry
But we had fun.

7-30-2015:
1 play, 4 players
When we play this game with more players it sometimes starts real slow.
This time also the game started slowly. Eventhough the market was oké.
My eldest daughter had some luck so she was ahead of us (and stayed ahead, so she won the game), but we managed to get close to her.
At the end I still needed the Shopping Mall and the Amusement Park, my second daughter still needs to build the Radiostation and the Airport, while my youngest son only builded the Trainstation and the Shopping Mall. (He doesn't play any tactic, he just build what he likes)

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
Further plays will count on my Hardcore Challenge List.

11-7-2015:
1 play, 6 players
My first play of the game.
I wasn't that excited, but the kids wanted to try this on the Spellenspektakel in Eindhoven, so I give it a try.
The game was a fun one and after the Spellenspektakel, we decided to buy this for the family.
And that's when I was starting to like the game.

12-4-2015:
1 play, 6 players
This was the first play with almost all of my family-members.
It was the first play for my wife, but it appears she's the best bandit.. She won with $2500,-
Total loot: $9350,-

12-5-2015:
1 play, 2 players
First time of a two-player-game, with my youngest son.
It was fun to control two bandits.
Total loot: $3600,-

12-6-2015:
1 play, 5 players
I like the game better with at least 4 players, so I had fun again with playing this game with my four eldest kids.

Total loot: $8450,-
Mine loot:

12-8-2015:
1 play, 3 players
A game with kids 3 and 4
I had a hard game to play. Although I tied in first plays for most shots, I didn't get a lot of loot.
I had $1600,- of the total loot of $6750,-

12-9-2015:
2 plays, 2 players both
First play with my youngest son.
He managed to get a lot of loot this time, althought he didn't win the game.
Total loot: $9100,-

Second play with my second daughter.
This play was also a close finish in loot, but I managed to get the most of $7600,-

12-12-2015:
1 play, 4 players, with expansion Horses and Stagecoach
I was able to play several games with the first expansions.
This expansion adds a lot of fun and chaos to the game, which I like.
It adds some difficulty too, so in a first play I won't recommened the expansion, but add it as soon as possible.
Total loot: $11600,- (Hostages added a nice loot too) I finished 2nd.

12-13-2015:
1 play, 5 players
Unluckly my wife didn't want to try the expansion yet, so this play was without it.
The robbery of the train wasn't working well this time.
Total loot: $6550,- (2nd again...)

12-16-2015:
1 play, 4 players
One of the last lessons of the year I always bring games with me.
So I thaught this game to some of my students (age 12).
They had a lot of fun and helped each other if necessary. They were suprised with this gameplay. And I had a lot of fun too.
Total loot: $6950,-

COMPLETED
I've completed this part of the challenge.
I'll count my further games (and loot)
Play 11 (3 players): $ 5150,-
Play 12 (6 players): $10600,-
Play 13 (2 players): $ 8900,- (with expansion)

Play 16 (4 players): $10750,- (with expansion)
Play 17 (3 players): $ 5800,-
Play 18 (6 players): $11700,-
