...and only one person can win.

I mused in this for a while and thought I'd pick your collective brain. What games that are competetive and do not allow group wins do not need a tie breaker because ties cannot occur?

I'd be especially interested in games that have points, money or something like that determine who wins.

I had the idea to this list when thinking about this game. It is impossible to have a tie here because every time you would land on the same spot of the point track as another person, you either stay one spot behind or jump one ahead. This is important because points determine when it's your turn, so ties would have to be broken each round to determine turn order.

Primordial Soup also has you leapfrog occupied spaces on the score track, so even though it is a VP game there's never a tie.

While King of Tokyo has VP and can be won with VP, the game ends immediately when a player hits 20 VP and VP are only scored on your own turn, so a tie cannot occur.

No tie breakers here. First person to capture 3 flags in a row or 5 total flags (out of 9) is the winner.

On second thought, there are "tie breakers" of a sort in the game play itself. If the formations on both sides of a flag are of the same value, then the player who first played their final card at that flag captures that flag.

If memory serves, the first person to place their tenth star is instantly the winner.

Everybody has 9 mobsters, and the last person with a surviving mobster wins. There are several ways to kill multiple mobsters on the same turn, but since they are always eliminated in order from a "hit list", it always works out that whoever is last in the queue is the final player surviving and wins.

Similar to your first one on the list, you cannot tie because when you score points you cannot land on someone. You move one point ahead of them on the track if you end up at the same score as someone else.

A similar scoring method to Fresco, in this game where you have the same score as someone else the first person to have got there is winning.
