Just printed up the first "episode" of the new Tabletop Novel, GrowthBreaker.
This is a card game for anyone to play alone. It contains whimsical items, enjoyable places, and helpful friends. Your heroes will be challenged by unexpected choices in their quest to reach the goals of each season, which are broken up into serialized decks known as episodes. This is the blurb which captured my attention, and I am intrigued by the idea of decks released weekly over several months.
The first (demo?) episode weighs in at all of 21 cards. Having seen both FTGC's ready for prime time and not ready for prime time Tabletop Novels in action, I am excited to see how much can be packed into these starting cards.
You’ll start in the farming town of Baburu and explore the world as you Grow and Break friendships, plants, alliances and yourself in this truly original work from my friend and yours: Joshua Rizzo. The game is based on Joshua’s love for Manga, anime, Nintendo, Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh! and the childhood emotions he seems to be escaping to and from at the same time every moment of his waking life.I have no sense of whether this is going to be a free PnP, a subscription service or some other model, but whatever the case, I expect to be on board.
I'll post more one I actually get it to the table . . .
