2015 Edition of Look What My Secret Santa Sent Me... (10th Anniversary Edition)
- Gary C(ghcstr)United States
Finally, it is HERE! Once again, many thanks to Octavian for keeping Secret Santa rolling these last several years. I can't wait to start reading all the Secret Santa entries that will be piling up on this list in the very near future. The standard information/suggestions/comments are as follows:
For those of you who are new to the list:
I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.
Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!
Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order.
I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly (in 2014 there were 83 pages with 2072 unique entries to sort through!). (Santas: you may find it convenient to subscribe to your target to see all their activity...not weird at all, trust me... )

Further helpful hints:
IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than just place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there plus your Santa who may be looking for your entry by clicking on your GeekList items from your profile! Listing an item in the comments will simply be missed by many of the readers.
A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.
Making an actual entry just makes it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.
If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:
I will add other Secret-Santa related links below. If you have a GeekList or Forum conversation you would like added, send me a GeekMail and I'll add it.
