I just started to fold origami boxes so that I can use them to organize components in my board games.

I strive to separate the components so that it's easy to use the boxes during play. Although, in many cases the components have to be removed from the boxes before play. Anyway, I think that the boxes look neat, regardless of how usable they are. Boxes with an orange sticker on the box, is used in every game. The other ones are usually player colors.

The large boxes are made of 20x20cm paper and the small ones 15x15cm.

Here some instructions to do the box with lid:

http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-box-with-cover.h...

or:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miKVWRH6Jzc

If you enjoy folding stuff, this is an cheap and somewhat eco-friendly way of organizing your games

Update: Feel free to add items yourself

First attempt at Origami. I'm pretty happy about the result.

From gallery of ThunderingGiraffe

Four small boxes (15cm paper) for the meeples.
One big box (9inch paper) 1x1 titles.
One small rectangle box for the tokens.

If you put the punched out cardboard under the insert and once you put the player boards over the boxes everything fits perfectly and doesn't move.

Here's my version of storage for Agricola (French version here, which has animeeples by default)

I mostly used 15cm square paper, except for the room tiles which is 20cm.

For the black and white ressources, I regrouped them with a “Divided Masu Measuring Box” from the book Origami for the Connoisseur, with a 20cm paper. A 15cm regular top fits on it.

All fits in the box!

Caverna was a tricky one with loads and loads of bits. The plastic boxes protrudes about one or two millimetres at three top. Otherwise, I'm happy with this one.

I add some Origami Paper (15x15) with Japanese Washi Patterns, so I use them in this Japanese related game:

From gallery of mithoron

I only had eigth Washi Patterns, so I did eight boxes:

1 Seafood & Raw Silk Tokens.
2 Copper & Tea Tokens.
3 1-yen & 3- Yen Tokens.
4 4 boxes, one for each player (with pawns, tiles & tokens with the same color)
5 Rest of tokens.

In play, I use the box and cover when there are two kinds of tokens in the same box.

I based mine shown above on Darren's thread How to Fold Origami Rectangular Boxes with Lids for Game Box Component Storage. I used cardstock for sturdiness. For the money and resource boxes I snapped a photo of the contents and print the photo on the outside of the box.

Not the nicest looking organization but reasonably functional. I could probably manage to get some of the bagged tokens into boxes still but it's good enough and I wasn't in the mood to learn rectangular boxes.

I don't know what I'll do if I ever get an expansion, but for now these fit almost perfectly.

Pretty sure box sizes are from 5inx5in and 20cmx20cm paper

The box for the round tiles is a modified design to make it deeper (you do the opposite of what you'd do for box covers. You go over the center line instead of not quite too it)
