WHAT STARTED IT ALL:
Before the first weight loss challenge, I thought I was around 235 lbs, which is my highest ever, but my first time on a scale in months (6/27) revealed that I was 245.6 lbs. Ouch.
Since I am 6'2", that leads to a BMI of 31.5.
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
Overweight = 25–29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
I am officially obese. The BMI scale has its limits, but for the most part, it is accurate. The fact is, I am fat and I need to not be.
WHAT I AM DOING TO LOSE WEIGHT:
-- Drinking 125 oz of water a day
-- Walking 20,000+ steps a day (yep planning on doing 10 miles per day!)
-- Not eating any sugar (pop, candy, chocolate, etc), greatly reducing my carbs. -- I am trying to fill up on mostly grilled chicken and salads.
I am also planning on participating in the 5 k Orc Stomp at Origins and don't want to embarrass myself there.
