SPIEL 2016 Preview Index: Ordered by Thumbs (2016-09-17)
- Emile de Maat(Purple)Netherlands
SPIEL 2016 Preview prompted me to create a list containing all the items from that preview, ordered by the number of thumbs they have received.
I found it interesting to see the result, so I'm now doing regular updates of that list. The previous list can be found here: SPIEL 2016 Preview Index: Ordered by Thumbs (2016-09-11).
This list lists all the items from the SPIEL 2016 Preview as it was on 2016-09-17 at 18:00 UTC+2, ordered by the number of thumbs they have received, starting with the items with the most thumbs. Each item on this list has a link back to the actual item on the preview.
For games that have more than one entry on the list, I make a single entry, and I add up the number of thumbs. This isn't entirely fair, as the same person can thumb both entries - and it turns out most people that thumb one entry do thumb the other entry to. (So, it might have been better if I had followed another approach, but for the sake of continuity, I am going to stick to what I was doing - for now.)
If there is an arrow ( or ) behind the number of thumbs, this means that the game has moved up or down the list (compared to the previous list). The number behind the arrow indicates the number of list positions it has moved. (I consider all items with the same number of thumbs as being on the same position.)
Similar information (and more) can be found in Peyo61's Essen 2016 - One-page, searchable, multiple-sort views of popular lists, which can show you the entire preview list ordered by name or thumbs up, or in the original order, and which updates every hour.

Pard has done a similar exercise, and has counted the subscriptions and wishlist entries for the games on the preview. The results can be found here: Essen Spiel 2016. The Great Expectations.
These lists give a different view of what games are most anticipated.
