I came up with idea to create list with games that are pretty known in your country, but they don't have international release or even if they have international releases it's not so popular outside your country for some reasons.

As you can imagine - I can't provide much to this geeklist by myself so your contributions are welcome, hopefully we can show some hidden gems here!

Damm is the oldest and most famous publisher in Norway.
They publish family and children games. And they do franchise for Disney and other popular games.

Their policy is to have very simple rules. Often printed in the lid. I know that game designed in Norway have been dumb down this fit their policy (No exception to the main rules).

One of the most famous games was Fargo (1985), a decent game, but again simplified from original rules.

The designer almost got it published in USA, but stopped it as he gave priority to ordinary work.

For serious gamers, Damm is just a faint memory from childhood, but they still publish games for kids and their parents. 50 years ago, they almost got 100% of the market. Now dropped down to I guess to max 10%.

This one is about buying different things in times when communist system was "in charge" in my country. It has other language releases but they are clearly not so popular as it is in Poland. Probably it's not much understandable for people who didn't live in times when everything was hard to get (except vinegar - true story) and folks have to spend in queues a lot of time (sometimes even couple of days).

Game itself is pretty good and has a lot funny 'take that' mechanism which can turn against you in the end and provides a lot of laugh.

Pic related.

This one is based on fantasy/sci-fi novel that is quite popular among the genre fans in Poland. Its translation is not so good in English so it probably put a mark on this one. There was a lot of hype in Poland when this was released and is stil pretty known and has a lot of fans.

For a game itself it's like eurostyle Chaos in the Old World without dice and other random elements from cards - area control is the key for winning. Cool minis and asymmetric play puts this among my favorit games.

Magnates has heavy historical theme but play is pretty simple - it's so that I have planned and prepared history lesson with local museum for kids based on this game only.

I won't get into history details but in game you are head of family who send his family members into senate (trying to get influence in further rounds) and into filed to battle enemies. You have to balance between high value cards in senate and in provinces to defend them. Twist is - you defend Poland together but trying to get most influence on map by yourself. Of course you can loose some conflicts intentional to screw your opponents but if three provinces are successfully raided - everybody loose. Lot of planning and balancing, worth trying.

Metallum won a contest for designers organised by publisher Galakta. It's two players area control game set in outer space. Really cool game, rather abstract in its core but plays nicely.
I don't really know how it is known outside Poland but it has only two other versions - English and German. Check it out if you can grab a copy!

Imagine you are an ancient god and play poker with another god where stakes are your worshipers. Theme is dark and heavy - you can play plagues, floods and other stuff like this or bluff your opponent(s) and take easy win without playing anything. Build your deck and crush enemies. Simply as that. Game has two expansions with more gods added to the game, sadly it didn't receive enough buzz outside Poland but happily funded on kickstarter.
