This list collates the results of the Card Games Tournament I have been running.

The first round had 76 games that I included, plus another 30 games that were added by other users, a total of 106 card games.

I have combined the results of all the rounds by weighting the rounds on the basis of number of thumbsup and then worked out an overall score for each game over the course of the whole competition. Where appropriate I've added in comments that were added to the game entries as the tournament went on - unfortunately these are uncredited.
I've also added a comment for each game from someone who rates the game highly, I tried to pick the most informative comment for each game!

I think it is worth producing this summary as the definitive card games geeklist (for now).

The original rounds can be seen here:

Round 1 (106 Entrants):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/20998

Round 2 (The Top 40):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21101

Round 3 (The Top 20):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21255

Round 4 (The Top 10):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21474

Round 5 (Semi Final, The Top 6):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21781

Round 6 (The Final):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/21936

My list is the top 100, but I've allowed public additions to the list in case you think something has been unfairly missed.

Zambo: "For a game with a (pretty) simple ruleset, there's a lot of variety in this little gem. Games are short and very tactical. The better player will win. I'm glad I picked this up. Unfortunately you need to play this multiple times to really start exploring the depth of the game; in today's environment of instant gratification a good number of people will play Blue Moon once or twice, wonder what all the fuss is about and never play it again. Which is a shame. If you buy Blue Moon, play it at least half a dozen times before writing it off! I'll bet things start "clicking" with you and you'll see what I mean. "

soubriquet: "For causing an immediate descent into chaos, the opening bell of "Pit" has few rivals. The rules can be explained to even neophytes and children in less than a minute, and people with vastly different levels of gaming experience can play and enjoy it on essentially even levels. If you like it at all you'll probably like it forever (there is no curve to master and no "true solution." And the visual experience -- the gasps of frustration as people accidentally exchange identical cards, the bouncing and mad gesticulation as traders try to emphasize their offer over another's, the facial contortions as people run short of oxygen while repeatedly screaming "four, four, FOUR!!!" -- is a pearl beyond price. juuzzom: "A brilliant game. Looks really good, everything works well and there is a lot of possible strategies for drafting. The possibility of hate drafting is also there, but it isn't so important because mostly you could pick a clearly best card for yourself. The life of the game is also nicely lenghtened through pairplay. The only con is probably that the face of the card is quite inoptimally used. "

Eddy Bee: "Outstanding trick-taking game. Provides great moments of agony and triumph. It takes a while for the strategies to sink in - so don't be discouraged by your first few games. Excellent with 3-players. The rules say it can be played with up to 8 players, but with 6 or more, it's not quite as interesting. "

There are at least two brilliant ideas here: the cards you spend never come back, so you lose flexibility as well as raw purchasing power; and the player with the least money left at the end of the game can't win. "

The game is hilarious, fast paced, and takes only 30 seconds to learn. If your group doesn't enjoy this game, you're either playing it wrong, or you're borderline comatose."

But, I Like the twists and turns the game takes sometimes by other players playing cards that can change the line making themselves pick up a good point value person or by making someone pick up a negative point value person. Sure it's in German, but it's fairly language independant. All you need is one player to figure out the rules and teach it to everybody else. Probably the best quality for my dollar that I've ever spent on a single game. "

The game gets better when there is more player. We play it so there is always as much or a little less saboteurs than prospectors (3p-2s, 3p-3s, 4p-3s, etc.) and do not score points (who cares about points! the point is finding your allies and thwarting your enemies!) I love the art (Vohwinkel is the best) and the game play is fantastic. Absolutely worth every penny. Update: I'm changing this one to a 10, it's just that great. It is my wife and my filler of choice. Wee!

rtrowan: In my opinion, the best TCG ever made. Each side plays very differently and with a single starter (contains a corp and runner deck) and booster (mix of both), you can plan over and over and over, and every game is still a blast. Tedious deck building is purely optional for the people that like that sort of thing. Yes!

Defeated in Round 1 by Mystery Rummy 78-62, may have sneaked into Round 2 against a weaker game.

fortinm: I'm having difficulties identifying what I love so much about this game. It has the tension of Lost Cities. It gives you great expectations! And the pizza deliveries phase is very funny. On top of this, the mechanic is brilliant and, I believe, unique.

Knocked out of round 1 by Bang 125-62. May have got into Round 2 against a weaker game.

Scott Tepper: This is a great 2-player game. Yes, luck is involved, but there are so many strategies available, especially those involving bluffing, that you'll find that over time, skill will override luck.

JUST missed the cut for round 2, even as a Wild Card again...

LetsGetTrivial: With 3-players it plays very quickly as we played 12 times in two days. Needless to say, some in my family appear to be addicted to this game.
If this worked with 2 players, I might have rated it higher as it is good pirate fun!

In Round 1 beat Flaschenteufel 60-53, but was then dumped out of the cut by Wild Cards.

defntx: Well this is the definitive game! This is a remake of the now-classic Ra! game. I have never played the original, but from what I've seen and read it looks bland and is heavily overproduced as compared to Razzia.
Pure brilliance combined with portability and affordability. Besides, this is the first game I played to win, with all the game-maths done as seriously as I can.

Lost to Settlers in Round 1 96-57

kimmo: The best multiplayer CCG, but you need at least 4 players to really enjoy it. The game is at it's best with 5-7 players. Two main reasons for this to be the best multiplayer CCG are: 1) you can get a good deck without spending too much. The best cards are common or uncommon, and the rare cards are mostly just funny and wierd. Often a good deck can be build only using cards from two pre-constructed starter decks, at least with Camarilla Edition starters. 2) it's very well balanced, there is no such deck that is always victorious, every deck always have a weak point too. Therefore the game is interesting even before the actual game begins, since the seating order really makes a difference.

jcarvin: The best trick taking card game that exists. This is very good with 2 or 3 players but simply outstanding when playing a 4-player partnership game. One of my all-time favorite card games. This is in my lunchtime card group's regular rotation, in fact we started off exclusively as a Pinochle group. The more you play the better you'll get, especially if you play with the same partner consistently. I created a little cube (2"x2") with the four suits and two blanks sides to make the trump so people don't forget each hand. It's been very helpful.

EYE OF NIGHT: One of my absolute favourites, the choices are terribly simple, but the balance in the game lies in the management of your cash. You can take money once out of each show, but that devalues the show and hence your scoring. Do you compete for the best show, or try to be average overall. And watching that 9 singer disappear just before your turn is so frustrating. Oh this game couldn't be better! Now re-issued with slight tweaks as Atlantic Star by Queen.

Wildcard in Round 1: 54 Votes

Badger on the move: The object is for each player to bid the number of tricks they think they can take from each hand, then to take exactly that many; no more and no fewer. Points are awarded only for making the bid exactly. At least one player will fail on each hand, because the total number of tricks bid by the players may not equal the number of tricks available on that hand. a.k.a. Blob. Excellent game but would choose Wizard in preference. The same game with an added tweak.

Steve99: Boy, how did we all manage to forget how good a game this was? All the intensity of in depth board game but then allows you to watch in amusement as two other unfortunates (whose only mistake was to bid for the same prize) are being forced to bid away their hard-gotten gains. It's as entertaining a spectacle as you are ever likely to see in gaming circles. If you haven't played this recently, do try it out; I doubt you will be disappointed.

Larry Chong: A very clever "hot potato" trick-taking game, with only three suits. Unique and unlike anything that most trick taking games have. It's counterintuitive in that many times, when you win/take tricks, you will end up holding the Bottle Imp. If you end the round holding the Bottle, you get negative penalty points. Can be played to an agreed # of hands, -OR- as a race to X number of points. Best played with four.
