HeavyCon 2017 Scheduling Geeklist
Welcome to the official HeavyCon 2017 scheduling list! HeavyCon is the convention put on by us, the hosts of the Heavy Cardboard Podcast for fellow fans of the heavier end of the hobby. The convention takes place in Denver, Colorado, over the Memorial Day weekend. The dates this year are May 25-28, 2017. From 8am Thursday up thru midnight Sunday night, it's all-you-can-eat heavier games in the hobby (18xx, war games, heavy Euros, etc). While the convention is by invitation only, you can always reach out to us and be put on the waitlist for subsequent years.
This list is here for any attendees that wish to post & organize games prior to arriving at HeavyCon. By starting this list a few months in advance, players can start reviewing rules, assign players to specific countries/characters/etc.
Got an 18XX, a wargame, or a Phil Eklund game that you've been dying to have hit the table? How about that game of Die Macher or Fire in the Lake you've always wanted to try? This list is for you!
Please also use this list to coordinate informal teaching/learning games for newbies as well.
Organization of the Geeklist
The games are listed in ALPHABETICAL order so that you can scroll down the list and see if a game you want to play is being organized or not. If it is, you can post a comment showing your interest. If it's not, you can Add an Item and put your game on the list.
It is also usually a good idea to Subscribe to the specific games you are interested in playing, rather than the entire list. This way, you will be notified when there is a post to the specific games you want, rather than all games and comments.
For particularly organization-heavy games in which players, roles, and other stuff must be handled prior to the con, it might be good to have several entries of a game. You can look at previous years' lists here:

How to Post
Some useful information to include in game listings:
Game Title (added via the Geeklist Item)
# of Players
Day/Time to Meet (This will likely be TBD until we get closer to the Con)
Expected Playing Time (Duration)
Requested Experience Level of Players (i.e. Beginners welcome, Expert, etc.)
If you are willing to bring a copy of a needed game, please do! Many of the games on this list may be scarce, but we have a lot of locals that have good sized libraries that will be willing to bring games. Obviously, more obscure titles may require a Mule. If you are a local to Denver, supplies such as plexiglass, poker chips, etc. are greatly appreciated.
Requesting a Game
If you aren't planning to host a specific game, but would like to still help get it organized, please REPLY in the comments section at the bottom of the geeklist your desire for playing a certain game. You should have pretty good success getting someone willing to set up a game if there is enough interest for that particular title.
