Some of my favorite bits and pieces to games could have been made far simpler, or left out of the game entirely! But, for reasons, thematic or otherwise, they were included in the game and I love them all the more for it. This list is a place to praise the useless or overly novel game components that you love. Lets hear it, what novel component do you love?

The beautiful, stupid, squishy salmon pouch! This could have easily (and probably more affordably) been placed in a box. Instead, North Star Games opted to jam their neigh indestructible plastic coated cards into the guts of a cute little fish.

Extra assembly required scenery! Tumbleweeds, canyons, cattle skulls and cacti add exactly nothing to the game play, but I will not play a game of Colt Express without them. I love the fact that we're given not only extra pieces for aesthetics, but we have to (mildly) assemble it ourselves. Normally this would be infuriating, but sliding two halves into each other really wasn't so bad.

Fat stacks of cash. Level 99 knew there was hate for paper money, but that didn't stop them. They double downed on it and make $1 in the game a stack of 10 bills that you have to tape together with sticker money bands. Despite it taking over an hour to assemble just the cash in this game, it's tactically one of my favorite things about it. Sure you could just as easily slide over a single bill, instead you're thwapping down piles of money to buy that one single card you're looking for. It feels and sounds satisfying and just adds to the layers of parody.

The Ravens. For a thematic game, everything in the box has a pretty solid purpose in the game. Except for the Ravens. I get that it's important to keep track of how many re-draws the ghost has had, but this could have been done in any number of ways, all of which would have been simpler than having chipboard birds perch on the ghost screen. That being said, how ominous is it when the silent ghost places one of those crows at without a word or even a glance?!

Foam Guns. This is arguably more vital to the game than everything else on the list. That being said, the goal of indicating who your target is can be accomplished in a million ways, creating an entire set of guns was NOT the easiest way to go. It IS however, the big appeal factor for the game.

In every game there is a clove of garlic. Very thematic but completely useless. After 30 years such cloves had been disintegrated.

Firstly, this is a truly atrocious game based on drug dealing, do not approach under any circumstances.

However one of the big selling points on the back of the box was that it came with a pen to help keep track of scoring - shaped like a syringe. A Fifty pound game circa 2000 and that was one of it's biggest selling points.

Well, you did say good *or* bad.
