In which order, from the games I own at the moment, I try to convince people to start playing boargames (my English is not perfect...)

As a first step, this game is a very good entry point. It can be taught in 10 minutes, doesn't last too long and can give a taste of what is a boardgame to people who played only family games like Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit (as my parents for instance).

As a second game, Pandemic would be a good choice. It's also simple, is not competitive between the players but has a very high growing tension when players come the end of the play. Obviously it's not as immersive as the wargmes I like to play, but this will bring some fun to newbies.

Agricola is not as simple as the first two games of the list. It requires quite a long and precise explanation but it's a nice step towards more complex games. After a few turns, the players will have understood how it works, and I'm sure, will have fun with it.

With Imperial 2030, your friends will step into some battles and more fight to win. We are not into high levels of strategy or warfare, but here we are in real boardgaming (in my opinion). This prepares well your team to something a bit deeper.

This game has a very high level a appreciation among my friends. The rules are easy (count one hour of explanation), the choices during play are quite wide and the ways to win are various. The fact that each player takes the role of an emperor gives some kind of joy to most of the people. Alliances and treasons are quite frequent, so should advise your friends not to take it too seriously though.

Here we start with real wargaming. This one can be played by 4 players maximum. The system is simple and progressive, suiting very well to new people in this type of games. I'm currently designing a 3-battle campaign for CoH (link on my profile page).

I'll finish this list with my favourite game at the moment. It should be played at 3. The immersion is close to perfect, taking in account the relative simplicity of the rules. All the friends I proposed this game were overwhelmed by the design of it. This will close the list. Enjoy!
