Don’t forget the homebrewed, two-fold rating system.

Announcing four new tracks for Grand Prix!
Every race track in the Thunderverse has a historical counterpart. Some are more famous and well known than others. The four newest tracks, specifically designed to enhance Grand Prix, are no different. Adding to the 13 previous series tracks, the Grand Prix Track Pack provides four new tracks based on the most famous F1 courses in the world; Silverstone, Monza, Monaco and Spa-Francorchamps. Each provides new challenges for racers.

Three of the tracks are designed with just Grand Prix in mind. Monza utilizes the historic oval to create three unique experiences, the oval, the road course, and the monster combined course requiring a trip through the oval after completing a circuit of the road course. Each track can be used for both Grand Prixand Thunder Alley.

Golden Gate Park is a fast-playing board game for 2-4 players. In the game, each player assumes the role of a married couple spending a day visiting historic Golden Gate Park during their trip to San Francisco.


Players begin the game having just arrived from their hotel to the Music Concourse at the heart of Golden Gate Park. The time is 10:00am on a gorgeous weekend morning. Players will take turns traveling about the park visiting its varied attractions, ending the day at 5:30pm sharp for the trip back the hotel.


Every action taken by a player takes a certain amount of time, which must be spent wisely throughout the game. Walk, shuttle or taxi to places like the bison paddock, Stow Lake, Shakespeare Garden, or the California Academy of Sciences. In between attractions you will need to find time to eat—perhaps at the famed Beach Chalet—and to answer the call of nature. And you don’t have unlimited funds so be sure to mind your budget for the day.


You will accumulate—or possibly lose!—valuable experience points along the way, with the player having had the best experience for the day declared the winner.

In the bleak future, after the collapse of our modern technological world, most of the structures we hold dearly today are no longer effective. The things that brought us comfort and ease have fallen into disrepair and disuse. Central governments have given way to localized strongmen. In some places the world is nothing but a vast wasteland and in other locals mankind thrives by calling back to its pre-modern lifestyle.

Through it all men still choose to compete and challenge each other in the various arenas. Auto racing is one of these sports that will not die. But the rules no longer apply. The racing circuits are no longer about speed and guile. Now they resemble high speed demolition derbies. The most famous organized racing competition of them all, the Apocalypse Road, is run by callous thugs and monsters who encourage drivers to arm their cars and literally destroy their opponents. It is the Roman Coliseum reincarnated.
Over time, new rules and organizational structures have taken hold. Ten teams now complete across the Thunderverse in a season-long show of firepower and twisted metal. Drivers work as part of a team struggling to complete laps under machine gun and even missile fire. The tracks, falling into decades of disrepair, are a jumbled mess of jumps, joker lanes and dirt. Much like the gladiators of old, in a time of intense anguish, the chance to be a hero, even for a day, calls drivers out to risk life and limb for wealth and food. The arena beckons, will you take the wheel?

Apocalypse Road is a race game using the Thunder Alley/Grand Prix engine. Players attempt to score points by crossing the finish line (somewhat like roller derby) and by eliminating opposing cars. The first team to 15 points wins the event and gets a double portion of foodstuffs as a reward.

The Battle of Rhode Island is volume 9 in GMT’s Battles of the American Revolution series by designer Mark S. Miklos. The map board depicts the northern half of the island including the fortified American positions around Butt's Hill. There are 64 America, British and Hessian combat units and leaders giving the game a counter density comparable to Saratoga in the series. Although the tactical situation is somewhat straightforward; Americans retreating and British pursuing primarily up two main roads, the nuanced play and game texture is like that found in all the games of the BoAR series.

To ensure replay-ability, each player has a unique deck of 26 Opportunity Cards that either enhance his side or diminish the enemy. Cards are drawn at-start and occasionally throughout play as governed by the turn track. There are also mechanisms for card draw tied to accumulated casualties or the possession of terrain objectives. Players may also spend Momentum to purchase additional cards.

The cards themselves may provide DRMs, adjustments to Army Morale, leader replacements, tactics advantages, step losses or step recovery, and additional units introduced into play among other outcomes. There is also the possibility of the game being extended one game turn into "night" wherein the British launch a surprise night attack.

There are only a handful of Exclusive Rules to provide chrome including a squadron of British warships which may conduct off-shore bombardment. Players familiar with the core game system will be off and running in no time.


As a bonus, volume 9 will include a second scenario; The Battle of Newport. This hypothetical scenario features a second map board depicting the southern half of the island, the city of Newport and the British defensive works that surrounded it as well as the American siege lines. The French army is presumed to have stayed on the island to cooperate in a direct assault upon the town. It will make for a fascinating "what-if" study of the first attempt at cooperation in the war by Franco-American forces.

Tank Duel: Enemy in the Crosshairs is a card-based game for 2 to 8 players that depicts tank-to-tank warfare on the Eastern Front of World War II in the early to mid 1940s. It attempts to convey the claustrophobia and urgency that tank crews experienced in this bitter conflict, utilizing a simple Action system to keep the action moving at a rapid pace. Players will issue commands with the use of Battle Cards and attempt to score Victory Points by claiming Objectives and eliminating their opponent's tanks and crew.

The tank board will be used to keep track of information regarding the status of a tank and its crew. Types of condition could include, tank on fire, damage tracks, immobilized and damage to the gun.

The crew information will include, health of each individual crew member, the crews experience and moral status.

The board also contains areas to manage your spotting and acquisition of enemy tanks and range on the battle field between tanks. There is also a box to hold the terrain that the tank is currently in or its movement status as well pertinent firing information.

Here is an example of some of the cards that are included in the battle and damage decks for Tank Duel: Enemy in the Crosshairs:

Each player will be managing a hand of cards. With these cards the player will be able to take actions. Some of the actions a player may take during his turn could include:
• Fire at enemy tanks
• Move and find terrain
• Flank enemy tanks
• Attempt to improve their position by going hull down
• Load special ammunition (APCR)
When a tank receives damage, the player reveals a card from the damage deck and applies the results to the tank and the moral effects to the crew.

This two-player wargame recreates the titanic struggle between the invading armies of Nazi Germany versus the Soviet Union in a fresh new way. Continuing the No Retreat! Series, where the Russian Front of World War II was first simulated, then taking the action to the African Front, the Italian Front , the French & Polish Fronts, game designer Carl Paradis now presents the fifth chapter: No Retreat 5: The Western Front 1944-45.

After the Fall of France in May of 1940, the Battle of Britain put a stop to Hitler’s ambitions in the West. While his attentions turned eastwards towards the vast expanses of the Soviet Union, the German Army, occupying most of Western Europe, started fortifying the coastlines to defend the Nazi dictator’s conquests against the resurgent Allied might: the vaunted “Atlantic Wall” was born. Soon, Allied troops will be knocking upon its doorstep…

In No Retreat 5, players command the Allied or German forces, invading or defending West Europe: France, Belgium, Holland and Germany proper. Maneuvering forces over hexes that are approximately 20 kilometers across, over turns that each represent between a week to a month of real time. The No Retreat series card-assisted game system is there to create on-map puzzles around each hex, unit and battle as the tense engagements rage back-and-forth and nothing is entirely predictable, and also manages the pre-invasion “fog-of-war”.

Under the Southern Cross: The South American Republics in the Age of Fighting Sail is the fourth volume of the highly regarded Flying Colors series of games on naval combat. The focus is on the southern part of the South American continent: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, from the Wars of Independence starting in 1810 through the last naval war fought completely under sail between Argentina and Uruguay in 1841. These wars attracted naval officers recently unemployed by the end of the Napoleonic Wars as well as providing a proving ground for the first generation of naval heroes native to Latin America. Updated rules introduce river and tidal currents, modified grounding rules for operations in the Rio de la Plata and Uruguay rivers, and the use of ship’s boats to tow stranded or becalmed ships. In all, over two dozen battle scenarios ranging in size from a handful of ships per side, to full-blown fleet actions are presented. Also included is the return of the popular ship duel map and activation cards originally found in Serpents of the Seas (Flying Colors volume II), along with 18 ship duel scenarios.

With a very short rule book that lets players get into the game quickly, Ancient Civilizations of the Inner Sea is an exciting, fast-playing, easy-to-learn, easy-to-play but challenging to master and always different abstract game in which player's guide the legendary civilizations that surged and receded around the shores of the Mediterranean: which the Romans aptly called the Mare Internum, or Inner Sea.
Ancient Civilizations of the Inner Sea is not just one game but many games. From one to six players will each take the role of one, two or even three of these civilizations as they compete across up to four epochs, each Epoch taking up to four turns, on land and sea, each seeking to make their indelible mark on history. The scenarios are of much shorter duration of only a few turns each (depending on which is selected).

The second sequel to the Charles S. Roberts Award-winning game Downtown, Red Storm is a standalone game that utilizes the Downtown game system to depict a hypothetical air war in May/June 1987 over the central portion of the NATO-Warsaw Pact front in central Germany. Like Downtown and Elusive Victory before it, Red Storm is an “operational” level air warfare game where players manage large strike packages and numerous combat air patrols in an effort to strike enemy targets, protect their own ground troops, and secure control of the air above the land battle raging below. Both sides field highly advanced all-weather aircraft, long-range air-to-air missiles, precision bombs, sophisticated electronic warfare assets, and networks of surface-to-air missiles and radar-guided AAA.

As the NATO player, you fight outnumbered in the air, but with a qualitative edge in technology and training. NATO faces the daunting task of claiming air superiority in the face of the initial onslaught from the Warsaw Pack air forces while also delivering bombs onto Soviet and East German ground targets already on the frontline and those approaching in the rear echelons. As the Warsaw Pact player, you must push your numerous but less flexible forces to the absolute limit in an effort to overwhelm NATO forces in the air and destroy them on the ground, all while supporting your advancing ground forces. Both players also must manage air defense networks consisting of overlapping layers of SAMs and AAA.

Like other games in the series, air units in Red Storm are flights of 1 to 4 aircraft, each tasked with different roles such as bombing, combat air patrol, close escort, or jamming support. Red Storm features more than 50 types of aircraft, including both older “3rd Generation” workhorses like the F-4 Phantom II and MiG-23 Flogger as well as advanced “4th Generation” fighters including the US F-15 Eagle, the UK/West German Tornado, and the Soviet MiG-29 Fulcrum. Aircraft from the air forces of Belgium, Canada, West Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Soviet Union, and East Germany are provided.

Ground units depict various types of troop concentrations, radars, SAMs, and AAA assets. SAM units are both more numerous and more dangerous than ever, with low-altitude SAMs like the UK Rapier, US Chaparral, and Soviet SA-13 Gopher joining a potent array of medium/high altitude SAMs like the US Patriot and Soviet SA-10 Grumble.

This expansion set includes the most significant French forces that saw action on the Western front in 1940. Also included are the German forces that invaded France and the Low Countries, flanked the Maginot Line, and finally pushed on into France. Gallipoli 1915: Churchill's Greatest Gamble realistically covers the first three days of the campaign, a time of wild maneuver, of decisive attacks parried by the timely arrival of reinforcements, and the onset of trench warfare. Speed – but not reckless haste – is the key to success.
The map covers the entire peninsula from north of Anzac Cove to Cape Helles, based on the 1922 British Ordnance Survey. Players can choose to land at the historical beaches, or create their own plans.
The game system emphasizes command and control. Players command by Brigade and Regiment. To be successful, a player must plan for the eventual exhaustion of their troops, rotating them out of line to rest and recover stragglers. The result is an accurate modeling of the tempo of these battles.
Infantry combat is ranged rifle and MG fire, culminating in close assault. Artillery is powerful but ultimately limited. Shrapnel from the standard field guns is deadly against troops in the open, but only the rare howitzers firing high-angle HE can deal with trenches.

Bayonets & Tomahawks is a 2-player game, with one side controlling the French and the other the British. It can be adapted for team play as well (up to 2 players per side). The board covers the area from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ('Isle Royale'), to 'Pays des Illinois' and northern Virginia. It includes wilderness sites, Indian villages and British and French colonies with their settlements. Movement is point-to-point on land. Pieces can also be transported at sea.
Pieces are distinctly shaped for instant recognition: square Brigades (line infantry — the pawns so to speak) and Artillery, triangular Light troops, octagonal Forts and rectangular 'Fleets' (naval squadrons). The French player starts with the most Indian allies in play. There are neutral Indians who will eventually join one side or the other. Hypothetical British and French units have also been added to reinforcement pools (some of the units sent to the West Indies from 1759 onward).
Bayonets & Tomahawks offers scenarios that range from one year duration to the full campaign (5 years). In each, the British player can achieve victory by capturing a set number of key sites by game end (e.g. Louisbourg, Québec, Ohio Forks, etc.). The French can win by preventing this or by knocking out the British colonies with raids in any single year. Each year has eight Action rounds where movement, constructions, and battles take place; and three Logistics rounds where fleets arrive with reinforcements, colonials enlist, pieces return to colonies for winter and reserve supply is drawn.
During play, two kinds of victory points (VPs) are recorded on distinct tracks: Raid VPs and Invasion VPs (key sites captured). Victory is checked at the beginning of each Winter logistics round.

Welcome to Centerville is a fast-playing board game for 2-4 players. Welcome to Centerville abstractly models the growth and management of a small city — perhaps not unlike the one you’re in right now.
Players act as entrepreneurs, tycoons, politicians and other local movers and shakers working to develop a modern urban area. Fortunes will be made and fame will rise. As time goes by, personal milestones will enrich the players even further.
Throughout the game players will roll six dice, keeping some and rerolling others, then implementing the various die faces on the game board. This will result in political offices gained and lost, new vocations learned, acquisition of new land, or the erecting of new buildings.
The end result will be a vibrant community that is revered near and wide — but only the player who has best balanced his wealth and prestige will emerge the final victor.
