Tonight we welcome not one but two new members. We welcome Kenny and David.
Apologies to Dan who I also thought was new but was not.

We also wish a happy birthday to Zack who bought and unboxed his birthday game just minutes before game night. More on that later.

You can attend our events even when it is not your birthday. We have a weekly game night and a monthly game day. Our full schedule is available here: https://www.meetup.com/boardgames-495/

Zack's birthday game. As mentioned he bought it about a half hour before game night. Luckily I saw him at River City so he could unbox and sleve the cards and such. He was prepared for teaching having read the rules and watched many videos.

This is a one vs many game. One person plays a deadly sin (the base game comes with Pride an Sloth) and the others (pun intended) try to stop said sin.

Alex claims poor dice rolls. First play for all.
Zack (Pride) win
F.A.I.T.H. team: (lose)

César asked if I could teach and I was eager to.

We had some questions about the pandemic event. We played the first part right (a worker goes on it, even if they are allocated to spots on the board, structures and/or your country card), but not the second (they do not come back when a new event happens -- they stay there until you pay a science token). So César got his worker back early (it may have been enough to get me to second place)

First play for Kenny and César
Kenny 98 (wins more stuff tiebreaker)
César 98
Brian 96 (claims teaching, and miracle pandemic cure)

Carolyn showed while games were in progress. When The Others ended she taught this game to Elliot, Alex, and David. I am pretty sure they played the basic side.

Alex 58
Carolyn 55
Elliot 45
David 25

Zack chose this game, and they went with the "close scores" gods option.

César thought (mostly correct) that we could get this game done in time.
I thought I was doing good with a full set but it turns out that both Kenny and César had one as well (though I had 2 more set cards)
The "treat wary tribes as friendly" helped me get the teepee majority.

I'm pretty sure this is the first play where I did the "complete a second card" feat.

First play for Kenny

Teepees + sets + point cards = total
Brian 12 + 32 + 22 = 66
Kenny 0 + 24 + 34 = 58
César 6 + 24 + 22 (claims teaching and poor rolls)
