Played this game as the first game of the Con. We played a five player game (Clint, CJ, Michael Vergis, and one other, Scott?) which is fun, but I prefer 3 or 4 players. Blind auction game that relies on you not going after the same thing as the other players. Played this twice at last year's BGG Spring and currently have it in wrap at the house. Will/Would play again.

I am conflicted on this one. Played it twice, once on the first night and then again on Sunday. I enjoy the concept, and for one who generally does not like area control, this was more engaging for me. On the other hand, both games I spent the majority of the game drawing a card from the top of the deck hoping it would fit into my hand because the cards that were face-up were all gone. For me, it limited the strategy. I would still like to play again and see if I can make it work.

Tried a couple games of this to end the night. The first was a two player (CJ and I) where we learned the rules. The next game saw us grab a few others, including a guy named Paul from Great Britain. I enjoyed it, co-op where each person can only do a few actions and has to rely on others to help get the pawns to their correct locations and then to escape all while no one is allowed to talk. We only played the first scenario but getting an overview of the other 16-17 scenarios indicated that it could be a lot of fun and very challenging. Would play again.

It really is Power Grid without the map. You jockey for turn order, auction off power plants, and buy resources (now the most complicated part of the game). Like Power Grid, leftover cash is immediately important for winning (as we all tied on number of cities powered). Like Power Grid, it's fiddly. I would definitely play it again --- you get a fair bit of the PG tension and fun in about 30-40 minutes.

So I played two rounds/games/whatever with Seth, Celia, and both Davids and it was okay. Fun and diverting, but i never see myself wanting to play through the entire deck of locations. (It's a worker placement game with changing cards telling you what you can do, and you can track locations and use past game setups for future games.)

Played twice and taught twice, screwing up innumerable rules both times. (One game with both Davids and Celia, another with David B., Matt, and someone outside the group). My favorite "big box" game of the con. I like the worker placement and the need to leave "trails" to access location. I also never felt super-constrained, which was good. Very happy we have local folks who own this!

Two plays (one with a stranger with beginning setup, one with Seth and Celia with beginning setup and cave tokens). It's a well designed deck-building race game by Reiner Knizia, and I'd happily play it again and wouldn't mind owning it. I think the replay factor is fairly high, and you can finish a game in about 30-45 minutes.

A not-so-recent Knizia release that's a tile laying abstract game that uses the same machinery as the online Entanglement game. You lay tiles and move gems along paths trying to get them to gates to score points for you and the co-owner of the gate. Thus, you have temporary alliances. Played with David B., James, and Becca. Would not mind owning this.

Played with David B., Matt, and Mariyana.

On the one hand, this is a great worker placement game. Although there's a twist --- you have no workers in your color. Instead, you start with one black worker. On your turn, you place that worker (take an action) and pick up another worker (take that action). Eventually, white and grey workers are unlocked that allow you to go raiding. And it feels like a raiding game --- you raid and get stuff, but also lose members of your crew (special cards) and items needed to start the raid. So you have to go back home and rebuild. The themes fit the mechanics wonderfully.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how much I would want to replay this. I've only played once, but I don't see the game taking a radically different path the next play. However, would be happy to play again.

Played twice with David B., Matt, and Mariyana. A somewhat fun tile laying game where you try to get regions of the same color along with castles that enable scoring. However, the tiles you pick determine your player order for next round.

It's not much more than a filler, but a nicely designed one.

Played once with Matt, Mariyana, and David B. I get the impression others liked this more than me. You bid for cards that you add to your tableau to build a city that's worth points. The city building is nice, but the bidding mechanics seemed about the same as Pi mal Pflaumen, and I'd rather play that.

Worst game of the con. (Sorry, Hunter!) It was me, Seth, Celia, Hunter, David C., and CJ, and we stopped after two rounds. During those two rounds I won nothing except for the pity tokens you get for winning nothing, and I never saw any of the exciting asteroids cards. The graphic design drove me crazy as I needed to distinguish the big circles on the cards (the moons) from the small circles on the cards and tokens (the planets).

I've seen some reviews on BGG from people I trust who like the game, so I might give it another try, but it would take some convincing.

Played with David C., Seth, and Celia. Yes, I see why people like the game. Yes, I think it is a more meaty version of Splendor, and I'd rather play this than Splendor. But the theme doesn't do much at all for me --- I'm just upgrading and trading cubes. I will definitely pay it again (preferably with the mat), but see no need to buy it.

A table of two was looking for players, so I decided to join. About five minutes later, Celia showed up to fill out the four. All in all, it was a long three hour teach and game with a fair amount of AP and rules confusion.

However, I think I like the game. It's certainly gorgeous enough, and the pyramid building that turns into actions appeals to me. I know Matt and David B. think the lace portion of the game is too difficult for gaining points, but I wasn't bugged by that. Would like to play again with a hopefully shorter play time.

I saw someone checking this out. Since I knew I wanted to play it based on this review (https://www.shutupandsitdown.com/videos/review-quantum/), I asked if I could play and he said yes. (Yea for assertiveness!)

It's a space game where the dice are ships, but it's much more like Cosmic Encounter than Alien Frontiers. You try to expand your influence, get special player powers, and use the special abilities of your ships (each die face stands for a different ability). It's very tactical (which is not usually what I like), but the abstract feel really works for me. You can get a fair amount of comboing, and the game (so far) has come down to almost everyone one move away from winning when it finishes.

I played again with Seth and Celia, and I will probably buy this. Best discovery of the con.

Played with Celia. This was one of the nominated kid's games, and it's a cooperative game with a "travel to beat the bad game" theme and mechanics focused on memorizing item requirements on cards, flipping the cards to the blank side, and then trying to fill your backpack with the necessary items. I think it might work great for 3rd through 5th graders, but I don't need to play it again.
