I am an avid board game collector that have a respectable collection at this point. Therefore I figured it was time to write up a list that showcases what I believe to be the best games that I play way too little these days.

As a VERY enthusiastic backer of the Onslaught Two Kickstarter, and a very passionate Lovecraft fan, I really lament the fact that there is no way I will get to play this excellent game as much as it deserves.

The game is amazing, doubly so for a Lovecraft fan, and it is just such a joy to look at especially now after the latest Kickstarter campaign that has enhanced the aesthetic impression of the product even more.

The game IS one of the games me and my group have played the most, but still there is NO WAY I will ever get the full value from this game from a gameplay perspective, but goddamnit I love this game to bits. The completely uncompromising nature of it, the way it defies the norms of other boardgame products and shows my pure devotion to the hobby as it has completely dominated all my storage space at home, it is definetly the crown jewel in my boardgame collection.

We had so much fun during the first half of the Pandemic Lecay season. But then we didn't pay attention during certain developments towards the second half, and had some really grim luck, and then we lost so many games that we had to open "the box of shame" in the game. This led to most of the players just losing interest.

One player is VERY passionate about the game still though, and me and her are thinking about continuing. I have heard that the experience will get very cool towards the end, so there is some hope for this one, but man that unlucky streak we had feels quite bitter.

This boardgame is just amazing. I have a friend who is an enthusiastic map designer for the game, and the game really shines when it is a "RPG light" experience.

As a boardgame though it has problems, mainly in that the maps included with the game are WAY too big and pretty poorly playtested to boot. We have created our own maps that are perhaps half as big and they still take around 2-3 hours to play.

I love the atmosphere in this game, and as a board game with balanced maps it is absolutely brilliant. The monsters are well designed, the weapons are well implemented and the marine cards are fun but extremely inbalanced. I feel like the game has all these bits and pieces that have to be mixed properly to achieve this really great experience, therefore it feels more like an "RPG light" that in the hands of a good semi-DM/invader player is one of the finest board game experiences ever created.

The reason it does not get enough plays is that it takes to long to create and playtest the maps, although even that is really really fun.

Tied with Cthulhu Wars for my favorite "conflict and strategy game" that is best with 4 players. It complements Cthulhu Wars really well, as what it lacks in unit diversity and asymmetrical abilities it makes up for in a really really good asymmetrical card deck system as well as a stronger sense of "killing an entire world".

It seems heavier in its strategical depth than Cthulhu Wars, at least as how my group perceives it, and is pretty fixed at 4 hours but it is really fun. I love that there is an event card that rewards a player who has the most "dead peasants" in their pool, and the way cards are played in this game is just brilliant.

Most of the people in my playgroup enjoys this game, but like Cthulhu Wars, the game is at it's best when played regulary in order to improve the strategies. Also, I feel like the game has a worse sense of balance between the factions than Cthulhu Wars since Tzentch never seem to win in our group, but this is contested on the forums so could be due to us not getting enough plays of the game.

I have played this game a total of two times, and both times were very fun. The game has a very good sense of theme implemented into it's gameplay, and it's gameplay is very slick and tense.

I hear the expansions make the game even better, but one of the problems me and my friends have in regards to co-op games is that we have TOO FRICKING MANY! STill, I will try to champion this game in a near future.

I really like the theme of this game, but I do feel it is not quite as tightly designed as battle star galactica. Still, it is very fun, and has a very good traitor mechanic. I will try to get this game to the table soon.

An amazing two player experience that perfectly captures the theme of the core conflict in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I played this game quite a lot when I was younger, but in my new playgroup people has not been that enthusiastic about 2-player games.

Lately though I did manage to get a friend to play this, and he loved it, so the hopes for this is pretty good. Even so, it will not get as many plays as it deserves, as I just love this game and the way it mixes it character- and card driven strategic gameplay with it's stellar use of theme. A must buy for any Lord of the Rings fan that can appreciate strategy board games for two players.

It was such a long time since I played Marvel Heroes. I loved that it tried to emulate the comic books it was based on, and the way the player to your left also played your hero team's arch enemy was pretty cool. It was a pretty luck dependent game with LOTS of dice, and it was slightly too complicated in what it tried to do, but overall it was really fun for any fan of superheroes and comic books. Not quite as "underplayed" as the other games on this list, but I still would like to play it some more.

Love this game. One of my highlights of this past Origins was teaching the game to 4 newbies on Sunday as I was waiting for my ride partner to leave. The joy they had learning/playing the game was fantastic.

Hope it gets a reprint soon.
