It's been a year since I last ranked the games in my collection and about 15 months of being on this site in total, and I'm happy to say that I've been able to expand my collection and try out some wonderful games. Again, I'm only listing the top 10 that I own and have played so far, but am curious to see how this list will compare to both the next and previous years. With that said, here we go!

So I've cooled off on this a bit since last year, but even so, I love this little deck builder. I find myself playing it on the app more than my actual copy as it's just a great way to kill time. That said, when I do play it with others, I find that it's fairly easy to get a basic understanding of for new players. That said, in the year I've found myself just discovering games that give me that little extra.

So last year's rank was really for Sushi Go!, but I'm combining them here as I play both regularly. I just swap them based on the group size. That said, I love the additions brought to party as it really just gives you a different feel and strategy for its drafting mechanic each game. Really, it's just a great little filler for when I want to play something that's just lighthearted and fun.

I love games that make you feel actual emotions. And man, does this game do that. The entire semi-cooperative nature it has where you're working towards surviving but everyone has their own goals and there might be a traitor so everything gets scrutinized just makes sure you're always on your toes. Adding to the intrigue is how you can definitely play and have nobody win. It would probably rank higher if I was able to get it played more frequently though.

I remember playing this for the first time with a friends copy, and then immediately purchasing it for myself because of how much fun I had. Super quick social deduction game that's fun for the family and really, the more fun you have with role playing or throwing out references to Men in Tight's or Monty Python, the more you're going to have fun with this game. My favorite thing is watching my 12 year old just blatantly bribe the sheriff with as much as possible just to get the sheriff to check everyone else instead of him.

No change here outside of which version I choose to play at any given time. If I'm playing the original, The Harbor Expansion is always a must. That said, I like Bright Lights, Big Cities streamlined approach towards setting up, even if the production quality is inferior. It's one of my staple gateway games and is always a hit for me, making it easy to get to the table.

Another year in and I'm still fighting to get people past the theme of football in my group. When I do though, it's one of the best gaming experiences I have. I really like the focus being on an overarching season as opposed to just the game and really, the theme is one of the strongest I've seen out there. I just wish I could play it more though.

Talk about games that lived up to the hype. This one I kept hearing fantastic things about with a grain of skepticism. But when I finally played it, I felt that the world was right again. Until I blew it up on the third round. Because Ragnarok demanded it. There's so much going on in this game. You're drafting cards, you're fighting battles (not always with the intent of winning), you're pillaging, you're summoning monsters, you're trying to get into Valhalla. So many things, but they all serve a purpose. Sometimes games shoehorn mechanics in without that and they just fall flat, but Blood Rage shines on.

So I really fought over my number's 2 and 3 for this ranking and really, I could switch them out on any given day. But for now I'm putting King of Tokyo as my 3. This is my ultimate gateway game. This is my ultimate filler game. And on many nights, it's the main game I play. Especially now that I have the Power Up expansion. I like that I can play this game and not care if I win or lose because 9 times out of 10, the victory comes down to an insane turn.

Much like Dead of Winter, T.I.M.E. Stories makes me feel extremely strong emotions. No game on my list though can compare to how I feel after this one. I always find myself lamenting that a scenario is over. And some of the scenarios have kept me up at night with how we chose to go through them. Honestly, if the game didn't come with the $30 dollar price tag per play, it would probably be my number 1 game. But even then, this game is worth a buy. Think of it less like a game, and more like going to the movies with your family. A great night with a lot of story.

This is a game that fires on all cylinders for me. The first time I played it, I finished with a score that was more than my opponents combined. The mathiness of the game just speaks to me. Like Blood Rage, it has a lot of various mechanics thrown into it, the best possibly being the bidding mechanic at the beginning of each round. Here's why it's number 1 though. Out of all the games I own or have played, this game is the only one where I always have a great time regardless of everyone else at the table. This one doesn't always hit with everyone, but I never find that to be an issue for me as I'm busy having to much fun.
