Congress of Gamers Adventurer's League Events
- Noah EngelmannUnited States
For those planning on attending Congress of Gamers (congressofgamers.org) with the intent of playing in the D&D Adventurer's League, this is the thread for you!Recommend
Here's the breakdown:
We will be playing games starting when according to their start time in the schedule, with breaks being taken as players need, or as situations warrant. Players can drop in/out at the conclusion of each "mission," so there's no commitment to play all day, although games will be available all day, until the group disbands due to it getting late, all the players leaving, or other such circumstances.
By the end of it all, it's unlikely anybody will get beyond the first tier of play, meaning not advancing beyond level 4. Therefore, the game that will be run for sure will be a tier 1 (levels 1-4) game. So, for those who know about Adventurer's League, keep this in mind if you're bringing existing characters.
For new players, however, don't worry, you're welcome too! If you show up early, I'll be more than happy to help you make a character, and if I have them, I may also have premade characters available for you to choose from if you want to just drop in to play.
You are welcome to keep your character sheets with you after you leave, as well as the associated adventure log for the adventurer's league. The reason to keep this is simple: because Adventurer's League is a form of organized D&D play, you will be able to use these characters in other Adventurer's League events in the future! Furthermore, if your character is still within the level range, you can even use them at future D&D events at Congress of Gamers, as these will most likely be Adventurer's League events.
However, we only have one guaranteed DM, and that is me, Noah Engelmann. I'll be running a tier 1 playthrough. However, for those who are interested in being a DM and are familiar with the rules of the Adventurer's League, then you can go ahead and just show up, set up, and bring in players! Also, there are no restriction on what campaign or tier of play you use, just be aware that, because this is a boardgame convention, not a D&D convention, you will have larger numbers of new players trying out D&D available than hardcore AL players with level 20 characters.
