Ethnos was placed twice. This relatively new title has been a recent hit with our group since it is readily accessible, plays fairly quickly, and can accommodate up to six players and does so well.

We played a swingy game of The Palaces of Carrara using Jeff's de-krauted copy of the game. I rushed the game's end and thought that the extra five points from it might be enough to keep me ahead of Jeff going into end game scoring. However, he earned enough additional points off the special red/green scoring card to shoot well ahead of me.

Chad introduced four new players to one of our favorite titles that plays very well with four and five players. Portugal made another appearance in an extremely close play that resulted in an essentially three way tie for first place. I cannot believe that Steve and I missed out on this one.

Kurt brought his copy of Pandemic Iberia, and the basic version of the game was played with the players beating the game both times. This is a fresh and fun take on the venerable Pandemic franchise. I think that playing with four makes for a much more winnable game than only two or three. Also, I found the Railwayman to be much more helpful than the Sailor.

Most of the players were new to this title that Steve taught with the fortifications addition. Jake and Elizabeth seemed to benefit from this option the most as reflected in their scores. The forts seemed to make emissaries less powerful and attractive.

We taught Michael this deckbuilding title that he had no problem picking up due to his familiarity with Dominion. We initially only remembered to advance the dragon track for dragon eggs but then caught it up for acquired artifacts. Elizabeth played a killer game, picking up both the 25 and 30 point artifacts with her backpack. Elizabeth and Michael escaped the dungeon, while I only made it out of the depths. Devon was unlucky and was eaten by the dragon.
