I have an issue with getting some games in my collection played and I've talked to a few other gamers with the same issue. So I thought I'd start a list for everyone in the area to add to.

Rules:

Add an item and in the item list up to 5 games in your collection that you want to get played this winter. List any details and how many people you are looking to play with.

Hopefully others that want to play the games listed, will comment that they are interested and we'll get these lonely games played.

Could meet at either Level Up, any Gaming Goat, The Source or FFG. For the moment weeknights are open.....and most weekends.

I haven't played Samurai Swords in over 20 years...it's about time I played again. Looking for at least another 3 players.

Takes up a lot of space but really fun. A simpler version of the Command & Colors system. Looking for 1 player.

I love the Lord of the Rings minis game and have a lot of minis and scenarios. Just need someone with some time and willingness to push minis around and roll some dice.

EDIT: Got one game of LotR in, hopefully more in the weeks to come.

Who wants to go adventuring?. Looking for 1 to 3 players.

EDIT: 12/15/17 changed my list, removed Assassinorum (played) and Zombies!!! (will be running at CotN). Added Risk: Europe and Return of the Heroes.

EDIT: 3/26/17 got a game of Return of the Heroez in. Would like to give this another go as some of the rulebook is tough to follow. I downloaded updated rules for next time.

I’m usually available Saturday or Monday starting noon or 1pm (or sometimes Fridays), and usual best places are Level Up St Paul or Eagan, Gaming Goat Eagan, FFGC, or the Source.

I’m always happy to teach any of the games.

Conan
1-4 other players, probably around 2 hours, maybe 3. 1-4 players vs an overlord game, fun gameplay with different options on how to spend your actions (attack lots of times, get a few strong attacks, get more rerolls, etc)

Defenders of the Realm
1-3 other players. Sort of a fantasy pandemic, but you collect cards to get more dice to attack one of the four generals that are trying to marchinto Monarch City.

Star Wars: Imperial Assault
1-4 other players. Interested in any of the modes (2 player skirmish, 1-4 rebels versus the imperial player, or 1-4 players fully coop using the app)

Space Hulk (fourth edition)
1 other player, or larger scenarios easily played with a third player if 2 players each take a squad of the marines.

War of the Ring Anniversary Edition
1 or 3 other players. Usually takes 4 or 5 hours. Actually not too tough to teach (harder to learn from the rulebook yourself)

Conan traded

The Creature That Ate Sheboygan
This is a great fun small wargame based on the Japanese monster movies.

Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks
Brand new Doctor Who game. Probably best played competitively. Lots of dice rolling. cool

Dune
Dune. Self explanatory. I have a print on demand copy of the Ilya PnP.

Old School Tactical
Squad level hex and counter WWII wargame. I have eastern and western fronts.

Secrets of the Lost Tomb

Indian Jones the board game.

Samurai
Japanese Kingmaker Shogunmaker! March around Japan with armies, having battles. Shares similar mechanics to Kingmaker (getting random armies/titles). Plays smoother then Kingmaker. There are more actual battles than in Kingmaker.

For the next 6 months I am unavailable on Saturday, so Sunday is the most likely day to play.

I have had all of these games for anywhere from a few months to over an entire year, and never gotten any of these to the table (yet), so if/when we play them I'll have to learn the rules beforehand or hopefully one of you has played them so you can teach me.

My availability is pretty much nada until mid-November when the outage ends. After that, though, I can make most evenings work during the week, and usually weekends as well, as long as I have some advance notice. Preferred meetup spots are the usual ones on the East side: either Gaming Goat, either Level Up, FFG, or The Source.

=======================================

2GM Tactics

I have all the stuff from the Collector's Edition on KS... All the factions (USA, Germany, Italy, Russa, UK) and both playmats 2p and the huuuuuge 4p mat. There are something like 100+ scenarios available between the different factions, plus a Battle Royale mode.

Anywhere from 1 to 3 players needed.

60-90ish minute playtime?

=======================================

First Martians: Adventures on the Red Planet

Pre-ordered copy with the fancy washed minis and the other stretch goals.

Anywhere from 1 to 3 players needed.

120-180ish minute playtime?

=======================================

Emergence Event

KS version with the expansion. Best described as Mage Knight lite, in space, minus the deckbuilding (the decks are pre-built for each race).

Anywhere from 1-4 players needed.

180ish minute playtime?

=======================================

Doom: The Boardgame

A 1 vs many scenario-driven dungeon crawl, similar to Descent or Imperial Assault, however it does not feature a campaign - each scenario is independent of the others. This is the older version, which also includes the expansion.

1-3 players needed.

120ish minute playtime per scenario?

=======================================

Myth: Dark Frontier

I've actually gotten in a couple plays of this game since the start of the year when it arrived on my doorstep. It's a fantastic cooperative tower defense game, but the playtime has taken forever. Ben, Dino, and I played a game that took 4 hours and we just got to the boss battle (and called it quits because it was getting late); Ben and I played a 2p game at COTN that took 5.5 hours (we decided in advance we were finishing it no matter what). It has a listed playtime of 90-180 minutes, but I'm not sure you could ever get a play in in under 3 hours. I want to try, though.

1-3 players needed.

240+ minute playtime

EDIT: I removed Tikal since I sold it at COTN and replaced it with Dark Frontier, and I swapped out Confusion with Doom. Once Lords of Hellas and The 7th Continent arrive, they'll probably get thrown on this list as well and displace other stuff.

Zombie State: Diplomacy of the Dead
Best with 5, BGG says 3 hours...

Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space
Best with 6-8, 30-45 minutes, might be good to tack onto another gathering.

Tragedy Looper
Best with 4, but should probably include someone who has played it before, I haven't got my head wrapped around it yet.

I have a couple of games that are hard to get to the table, and I'd like to start off 2018 by getting them played (to make sure they should stay in the collection). While I'd like to run these at Con of the North, I'm already pretty well booked up for that. So I'll throw them out here, and see if anyone is interested.

I'm typically at FFG on Monday and/or Thursday nights.

Shadows of Brimstone: City of the Ancients
I've played this before, and it has a campaign system to it. Mostly, I'd just like to play it monthly, or even every other month, just to have some fun in it. I have both boxes, Frontier Town, and Caverns of Cynder expansions. So there's a lot of content available. It plays up to four players, but sessions will typically go at least 2 hours.

Vast: The Crystal Caverns
I've only played this solo, and just as the Hero. I'd like to see if there's interest in a group learning how to play the various roles. I've heard it's a great game, but the learning curve is steep. It plays up to five, and take about an hour to learn, and another hour or two to play. It apparently takes about two or four sessions to "really" learn, though. So I'd be looking for commitment.

Fortune and Glory: The Cliffhanger Game
Another great Flying Frog Productions game that I have a hard time getting to the table. It plays up to 8, but I don't recommend that many people playing. It's easy to learn, but you have to be okay with the long downtime between your turn - which is a turnoff for some. It's great at 4 players, though, and has multiple options to play. I prefer the competitive version, however. It plays about 45 minutes per player.

Star Wars: Rebellion
I've played this a couple of times, but with different people each time. I think it warrants repeated play with the same group. It's ostensibly a 2 player game, which is how I've played it, but I'd be fine playing it as a 4 player game too. I just want to see how it holds up to repeated plays, as it's so highly rated. The downside? It takes at least 2 hours to play.

Mechs vs. Minions
I've played this before, and while I'd be fine playing through the campaign solo, I really want to play this with 4 players to see how it plays. It's not too hard to learn, but each scenario takes between 60 and 120 minutes to play.
