This Geeklist chronicles some of the many games played at this weekly meeting of the Columbus Area Boardgaming Society.
The Columbus Area Boardgaming Society (CABS) is a club dedicated to boardgaming in central Ohio. The club started as a group of 15 friends back in 1997. Since then, CABS has grown to over 400 members with meetings almost every weekend. Our members play everything from Eurogames to Wargames to light family games. Our club also maintains a library of over a thousand games, which members can "check-out", just like any public library.

It is an art -- the growing of the moustache! I have sympathy for all who attempt it.
You can dwell on the sh*t, or you can just leave it behind in people's beds & keep going.

Quickest loss I've ever had at this game before: very early in the second round with us unable to move on our turn, due to Erin seemingly only ever drawing the same 1 color again and again.

The great pyramid scenario is pretty good. There's a lot more to think about than just your standard Catan turn, and the god cards are a very good addition to the game. It ran too long, even with just 3 players, but sometimes Catan will do that to you, and laugh at you, and mock your pain while you search fruitlessly for that last golden point you need to win...

First time playing. Sort of a mix between Splendor and Dominion. I'd play it again.

Played Karen's cold and haunted (just like space) copy of Clank! Chris just stepped in and then right out causing the other 3 of us to all die -- Erin dying just 1 turn away from getting out. It worked, he beat Erin by 4 pts.

Played 6 times total. Died 5 times. Not a good ratio.

Mmmm, I thought it was okay. Should be better with more plays and familiarity with worker spots. It seems odd how the modular board is constructed; needs some better thought for layout.

We played with a couple of expansion I'm not sure which. To me the board is too big to really figure out what the right move is. Unless you want to spend 20 minutes a turn.

I've only gotten a few plays in of Mage Knight (and this was my first multiplayer game), but I like the balance here between a game that doesn't feel like it takes a long time (although it does...) and that feels complete once it's over (in the sense that it doesn't seem to end abruptly right before I have a chance to use all the great abilities or cards I've spent the whole game acquiring and developing). Now I want to try out Star Trek: Frontiers, as the theme is probably more my speed.

An entertaining and humorous coop experience that had to be cut short half-way through the game.
Spoiler (click to reveal) Most entertaining Madness card: Erin not being able to talk unless someone was looking in her eyes. First time she had it, we did the whole encounter and then went "wait, what was Erin's madness that round, did anyone look to see what she was doing?" No, no one had looked at her, so she was just silent. Oops. Most awkward Madness card: Laura needing to pet another person's face while talking. Not a game for those looking for something serious or at all heavy. I'd like to try it again all the way through.

We ran out of turns to find the cure for the last disease. In need of a scapegoat to blame for the plague, Karen and I decided to blame Agronomist Erin for over-watering the populous.
So close. Yet so far. - My first loss at this edition.

5p Sushi battle. A reasonably close game for all, with only some moderate spooning. But the non-newbie, Erin, had the most rewarding meal.
