The 365 Play Challenge 2018 Geeklist
- 365 Challenge
Note: This geeklist is for a previous year. For the 2019 edition go here: The 2019 365 Play Results Geeklist
This Geeklist is for those participating in the 365 Play Challenge 2018 Edition!
Create an item on this Geeklist to show your FGLMs (Friendly Geeklist Moderators) that you are participating, and then you can also update your progress of how many games you have played over the course of the year, and most importantly, you can let us know when you complete one of the levels of the challenge by responding to your item of the Geeklist. This will be tremendously easier for the FGLMs and for you too I think. I will continue to use the thread for the posting of weekday and weekend challenges and for general communications, and I encourage you to do the same. But post an item here to show us you're participating, and let us know you have completed a part of the challenge by commenting on your item.
Hope you will join us in exploring our collection and challenging your likes and dislikes!
Also, here is a link to the The 365 Play Challenge 2018 Edition Thread. Come on by and join in on the fun!!!!
PLANNING A VACATION??? READ ON.
We know that keeping up with the weekly challenges while on vacation can be a challenge in itself, so here is a list of alternative challenges you may choose to do while on vacation, in place of the regular weekly challenge. Enjoy!
Introducing The Vacation Challenges!
Each week you are away, pick one of these Vacation Challenges and complete it. Register the Vacation Challenge as your weekly challenge. You can only repeat a Vacation Challenge if you have completed them all.

Find a Friend - Find a game at your location and play it. Board game cafes, pubs, hotels, etc, often have games available.
Pocket Fun - Play pocket-sized or travel-edition games.
Of course, you can still complete the actual posted challenges if able instead of using the vacation challenge list, but this is here for your convenience. Enjoy your summer!

Current Weekly Challenges:
Hi there cool cats of the 365 Play Challenge!!!! I'm home from work now, so it's time to get you a weekly challenge!!!! I'm going to do this months weekly challenges a little bit differently. I'm going to post all four weekly challenges tonight, so this way, those of you who are planners can know how to plan your games accordingly. Going into next year I think we will continue this as well so that you may have the best opportunity possible to plan what you want to play each week at the beginning of the month. So without further ado, here are this month's challenges!!!!
December 2018 Weekly Challenge #1 (December 3-9) - Dashing Through the Snow!!!!
This week's challenge is all about speed!!!! So as you dash through the snow in real life, play board games that are about speed this week. This could include games that have timers or time limits, games that have a racing theme, games that have a racing mechanic, games where you have to accomplish something faster than your opponents, games where you travel in vehicles (or animals) that go fast (or transport you through time), and etc. If you have a question as to whether a game qualifies for this challenge, just ask. So, what are you waiting for?! lol Hurry up and log some plays!!!! lol
The Christmas Don't Be Late Level - Log 3 plays of speed related games.
The Sleigh Ride Level - Log 6 plays of speed related games.
The Run Run Rudolph Level - Log 9 plays of speed related games.
The Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer Level - Log 12 plays of speed related games.
December 2018 Weekly Challenge #2 (December 10-16) - The Nutcracker Challenge!!!!
What is the purpose of a nutcracker? Defeating Rat Kings, you say? I meant, what is their other purpose!!!! It's to crack nuts, of course, because nuts are to tough to crack without assistance. So this week, I want you to spend time playing board games that are tough to you. Maybe it's a cooperative game that you find hard to beat or a competitive game that you find difficult to win. Maybe it's a game that you find tough to set up, or maybe it's a game that you have a tough time getting to the table. Maybe it's just a game that's about some tough dudes. Whatever you find tough about the game, spend time playing tough games this week, and if you think that's too hard....that's tough!!!! (Thank you!!!! I'll be here all week!!!! )
The Wimpy Level - Log 3 plays of tough games.
The Toughen Up Level - Log 6 plays of tough games.
The Tough Guy Level - Log 9 plays of tough games.
The Tougher Than Nails Level - Log 12 plays of tough games.
December 2018 Weekly Challenge #3 (December 17-23) - The 12 Plays of Christmas Challenge!!!!
This week, let's play games related to the twelve days of Christmas song!!!!
The First Day of Christmas - A Partridge in a Pear Tree - Play games related to nature and natural things (resources, outdoors, trees, etc.).
The Second Day of Christmas - Two Turtle Doves - Play games about animals or that include animals.
The Third Day of Christmas - Three French Hens - Play games about France.
The Fourth Day of Christmas - Four Calling Birds - Play games about flight (animals that fly, vehicles that fly, etc.).
The Fifth Day of Christmas - Five Golden Rings - Play games about gold or that include gold.
The Sixth Day of Christmas - Six Geese a Laying - Play games about farms and farm life.
The Seventh Day of Christmas - Seven Swans a Swimming - Play games about water (games where water is used, games that take place in or on water, etc.).
The Eighth Day of Christmas - Eight Maids a Milking - Play games that contain food or beverages.
The Ninth Day of Christmas - Nine Ladies Dancing - Play games that have something to do with music (games that are about music, games with apps that have music that plays while you play them, etc.)
The Tenth Day of Christmas - Ten Lords a Leaping - Play games that require you to do some physical activity (all dexterity games, Happy Salmon, etc.)
The Twelfth Day of Christmas - Twelve Drummers Drumming - Play a game that is typically very noisy (Happy Salmon, Doctor Panic, Pit, or just a game that is noisy whenever your group plays it).
For the purposes of this challenge, I would like you to obtain twelve different plays of twelve different games. So each category should have it's own unique play of it's own unique game. Also, if you are having trouble finding a game in your collection that fits a particular category, you could play a game that relates to the number of that day of Christmas instead. For example, if you're having trouble finding a game that requires physical activity for the tenth day of Christmas, you could instead play a game that somehow relates to the number ten. You could play a game that has ten in the title. You could play a game of the Settlers of Catan where you need to get ten victory points to win. Also, you do not necessarily need to play these games in the order of the days of Christmas. You simply have all week to try and get these twelve plays in any order that you wish. Have fun, and Merry Christmas!!!!
The Three French Hens Level - Log 3 plays of games related to the 12 days of Christmas.
The Six Geese a Laying Level - Log 6 plays of games related to the 12 days of Christmas.
The Nine Ladies Dancing Level - Log 9 plays of games related to the 12 days of Christmas.
The Twelve Drummers Drumming Level - Log 12 plays of games related to the 12 days of Christmas.
December 2018 Weekly Challenge #4 (December 24-31) - The Out with the Old, In with the New Challenge!!!!
This week, open up all those gifts from Santa Claus, and play all those new games. These could be new games to your collection. These could be games that are new because they were recently released. These could be games that are new because they use new mechanisms and themes that you haven't encountered before. Whatever the case, let's bring in the New Year with some new games!!!!
The Stuck in Your Ways Level - Log 3 plays of new games.
The Change is Hard Level - Log 6 plays of new games.
The Change is Good Level - Log 9 plays of new games.
The Cult of the New Level - Log 12 plays of new games.
Alright my friends. That is all of the weekly challenges for December!!!! I pray that you enjoy them, and have a blessed and very Merry Christmas!!!!
