Welcome to the sure-to-be-massive, soon-to-be-out-of-control Geeklist where VGGers rejoice in beating games large and small, new and old. Here's how this works:

Whenever you finish a game, add it to the list and share your thoughts. Use your best judgement for exactly WHEN a game is 'beaten:' 'final boss defeated,''saw the credits,' 'completed the main storyline,' '100%' etc. Whatever seems reasonable and is the end for you.

These lists have been running since 2011 and tend to draw a lot of conversation. Feel free to offer whatever commentary you like on the game and your experience playing it. Be brief or thorough, broad or narrow - its up to you.

To get started, tell us what platform you played the game on and whether or not you've beaten it before.

To all new users: the more the merrier. We try to keep it lively and friendly. There is no need to read through every page before jumping in. Be sure to subscribe to this list so you can see what everyone else is playing!

Not sure what to play? Curious to see what others are looking forward to in 2018? Join the fray in The 2018 Videogame Challenge! or participate in the our first seasonal Game-Club here: 2018 Winter Game-Club Event.

If you want to see what VGGers were up to in years past, look here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Should I add a game to this list if it has already been added by somebody else?
A: Of course!

Q: Should I add a game to list more than once if I beat it more than once?
A: No, but feel free to update your original item or add a new comment beneath it.

Q: I want to talk about a game, but because it's driving me crazy, not because I'm going to finish it. Where should I go for that?
A: Video Games Abandoned by VGGers in 2018 or Video Games Ambivalently Continued by VGGers in 2018.

VGG Community Goals for 2018:

Platform: SNES Classic cool

Clocktime: Spent a couple of hours messing around with this last night and this morning.

Completion: Finished three times on normal difficulty. The first time I was just trying to get my bearings, and tried out a few different characters before settling on Ken for the last half of the run. Second time I played all the way through with M. Bison. Third time I played all the way through with Chun Li, but found the final match-up against Bison really hard. Lost six or seven times. Switched to Ryu and destroyed him on my first try.

Commentary: I haven't played one of the SNES releases for SFII in a long time. As a teenager, I had both Street Fighter II (8 playable characters) and Super Street Fighter II (16 playable characters), but not SF2: Turbo (12 playable characters), which is what Capcom licensed to be included on the SNES Classic.

My favorite character theme in the game, courtesy of Smooth McGroove

The biggest surprise here revisiting an old classic with a modern vocabulary. Meaning, that as someone who has followed competitive Street Fighter pretty closely for the last couple of years, I found myself instinctively applying concepts like "meaties," "hitboxes," etc. I understood some of this as a kid, but would not have been able to express it as easily. It was fun looking for "good normals" with each character (Bison's Stand Roundhouse is ridiculous, and his crouching medium punch is great for interrupting pressure in a way I would not have recognized when I was younger). I found myself giggling when I would throw out Ken's sweep to "punish the landing frames" of a misplaced jump-in by the opponent. I thought it was downright hilarious when the AI would pressure me on wake-up when I was playing Chun Li...

The most interesting thing about playing an old game with this new framework is that losses never bothered me. I would just think, how do I adapt? how does this character play the match-up? What are good tools here?

Pretty neat. I will probably come back to this during the year to explore some of the other characters.

Completed for the first time, on the PC. Took me 8 hours according to Steam. Finished it just around half an hour, maybe 45 minutes after midnight

Enjoyment: Medium-High to High-Very High

Summary: A solid platformer/hack&slash game which nails its theme to a T.

Apotheon started off ok for me, good but not great. I enjoyed the somewhat chaotic combat, I really liked the theme, and I thought the gameplay in general was nice – though its Metroidvania elements and a Crafting system were instant turn-offs. Well, it grew on me in a big way, and I consider it one of the better indie games I played in recent memory.

The great thing about this game is that it's very lenient when it comes to how much of it you actually want to experience. If you just want to get through the main story and bosses, that's certainly an option and you can basically do it without bothering too much with other areas, or even many of the gadgets or powerups. The game offers more (in the case of weapon and consumables, arguably even a little too much), but it's all optional and largely dependent on your playstyle. As expected, the game rewards exploration, but you'll gain enough stuff over the course of just the obligatory route, to be able to finish the game without too much of a problem.

I also got into the story a lot. The Gods have abandoned humanity, which is succumbing to chaos, famine and despair. You play as Nikandreos, a warrior from a small Greek town (freshly devastated by pirates), who is selected by Hera to be her champion. Her plan: to use you as a tool to get vengeance on Zeus, and to stop the apocalypse the Gods have prepared for humankind. This involves defeating, or just pacifying, such gods as Athena, Ares, Poseidon, Demeter and Apollo, and as you do, you gain their powers to finally face Zeus himself.

There's some good voice acting throughout, impressive art design from start to finish, and a few very clever levels, which make use of more mechanics than you'd maybe expect from a small indie title like this one. Confronting every god feels unique, and while some are clearly more fun than others, the game keeps stuff fresh and experiments with its formula here and there. Apotheon has a very fitting conclusion, and is paced pretty well, even if you decide to do some of the side stuff.

I don't really have many complaints. Some interface oddities could've been solved differently, and maybe there are too many weapon, ammo and consumable types, which make navigating the inventory a bit of a pain later on in the game... and yeah, the combat system isn't without its quirks – playing on normal difficulty, it was just challenging enough for me, but switching to a higher level might be a bit of a pain in the ass. Fighting is chaotic, frantic, and often works best if you just flail blindly instead of trying to be tactical about it – but a safer approach is definitely possible, especially if you're armed with the right weapons.

I think Apotheon is well worth checking out. Not only does it deliver marvellously on its theme and art style, it's just a fun game to play. If anything about it sounds like your jam, I think you should definitely give it a go. Unless you're expecting a hyper-responsive, insanely polished game, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Completed for maybe the fourth or fifth time, but the first time in co-op with my Partner. The in-game clock said around 36 hours when we defeated Typhon, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Enjoyment: High

Summary: Yep, Titan Quest is still a lot of fun for me!

This completion was a few years in the making. When I introduced my partner to hack&slash games, I started her off with the original Diablo, then the first Torchlight, both of which she liked, and then we took a journey back to Diablo 2. Beating that one took us some time - we don't game together often. While playing Diablo 2, we also started Titan Quest - she played it solo before, and got to a tricky part in Act IV, and we started over with new characters. She plays a Spirit/Dream mastery, something I tried in the past, too - and I'm doing a Defense/Earth mastery, a first for me.

Well, we've just defeated Typhon today, and made a small dent in Immortal Throne's fourth act - will go through that as well, before we move on to Torchlight II... or perhaps Titan Quest's new add-on (fancy that, an expansion released ten years after the game premiered, and a good eight or nine since the last update, before the Anniversary Edition at least), Ragnarok.

Anyway, our copies of Grim Dawn are already waiting for whenever we're done I'll probably play it solo before to teach my partner the ropes better.

Second time played
1 new achievement this play through.

I guess this qualifies because I technically finished it in 2018! Of the 80 whatever hours I sunk into this, the last 5 of those hours were in 2018...

First play through was as an Elf Mage, Knight Enchanter specialization so this time I tried to do things a bit differently and went with a Human Rogue Archer, Assassin specialization. Tried to make different choices in the game just to see how stuff played out.

Mostly the game played out mostly the same. Dialog and what not changed a little bit but the world didn't feel significantly different.

Archer Assassin is fun to play. OP, but that's what I want in an RPG.

Paid more attention to crafting this time and figured out how to maximize crafted weapons and armors. Crafting is a really important part of the game, the best weapons and armors are available through crafting, and this is even more true with a second play through. If you sync up your play throughs each play though will share crafting recipes. Many really good crafting recipes for weapons and armor come closer to the end of the game and having those available in the early part of the game through syncing your save files (golden nug statue) can really give the second play through a boost.

Story was much better the second time around because I knew what was coming and the twists and turns the story would take. The game does a good job giving you clues, but if you don't know what you're looking for it is entirely too easy to miss the foreshadowing. Still a solid narrative.

Fun game. Solid voice acting, good companions, fun interaction. Makes me see the flaws in Mass Effect: Andromeda much more clearly.

Looking forward to another Dragon Age game very much.

Final play time: 190 hrs, 30 minutes

Happy New Year, it's finished!

Looking at my rating for this, I can see I started it in 2016, so it's been over a year since I began playing.

What CDPR accomplished with this game is almost unimaginable to me. The scope and detail of the world and its inhabitants is far beyond anything I've seen. Sure, there are some minor complaints I could make, but they are absolutely eclipsed by all of the things it does right.

The first time I rode my horse into Novigrad was one of my favorite moments in gaming. I saw the city's skyline in the distance with the sun just above the horizon, and as I approached I was bracing myself for the inevitable loading screen...it never happened.

Renowned Explorers
is a game in which you take a team of three explorers on five expeditions. Between the expeditions you can spend your gold, research and status to acquire items, inventions, and an entourage. Your goal is to acquire more renown than your rival Rivaleux. While it is not necessary to win the game, you should also try to defeat Rivaleux personally in an expedition to Shangri-La.

I spent quite a bit of time on this game in 2017. I never yet won it in Adventure mode, though, at least not on Classic difficulty. Adventure mode is hardcore: no reloading of savegames, and if your team runs out of "Resolve" (which might happens disconcertingly fast) then you lose the game. Classic difficulty is pretty hard, but if you want to get achievements for Adventure mode, that's what you have to play. Now I have quite a bit of knowledge of the game, I wanted to beat Rivaleux in Adventure mode (which, according to the achievements, only about 3% of players ever succeeded in).

I first tried to go with a predominantly Friendly team, as I know that Friendly teams tend to gather more resources. However, twice I got defeated, once during the fourth expedition to the Anagogic Archipelago (I got cocky and tried to convince the Talking Heads that I was worthy of their boon, but missed out on two 80% rolls, after which I only had one Resolve left and died in the final battle), and once during the third expedition in the Highlands (when battling the Nuns, no less).

So I decided to switch tactics and went for a very Aggressive team, with Bia Hekaton as leader, and Anna Proskuriakova and Molly Jones on the team. No Speaker, as I intended to just hit everyone over the head. Early on I thought this team was going to lose out, as they did not manage to get many resources. I could not really outfit them well. On the final expedition, I could only give them tier-3 and tier-4 equipment. I even considered not going to Shangri-La when I managed to live through the fourth expedition, but then I said "What the heck." I was rather unfortunate in Shangri-La with my rolls, except for the Keys, which are the most important anyway. By the time I reached Rivaleux, Bia (who I gave the best items) was so powerful that she managed to kill the big guy himself in two turns.

So that was 5 hours of play. But I will continue playing this game some more. I am not done with Adventure mode yet.

EDIT: I did one more, now with a friendly party. I managed to get all the way to Shangri-La, had all the keys, defeated all of Rivaleux's cronies, but unfortunately his damage could take my guys down from full health to nothing in one hit. I lost all my remaining resolve in the fight against Rivaleux on his own... It is a pretty hard game on Adventure/Classic.

9. Video Game: Euro Truck Simulator 2 [Average Rating:7.71 Overall Rank:1458]
Video Game: Euro Truck Simulator 2
Platform: PC

SCS is having another special event, this time delivering christmas packages around the map. Completing 6 gets you a wallpaper and accessories to hang in your truck. Completing 12 gets you a different wallpaper and new hangings.

I spent most of my deliveries tooling around France, as I've purchased that dlc but hadn't explored it much. Some nice areas, but oh so many toll booths.

Platform: PC
Duration: 9h
Times completed: Multiple

Completed the Sweden special event, 10 deliveries to/from 10 different countries to/from Sweden.

Due to the map layout, this one was quite repetitive, as you constantly go through the same part of northern europe to get to Sweden. And unless you intentionally want to go further, you're pretty much driving to Malmo over and over again.

The Northern Lights background you get for completing is quite nice, so I've decided to keep it rather than sell it.

Platform: PC
Duration: 9h
Times completed: Multiple

Completed the ETRC 2018 special event, 10 deliveries of racing parts to any 10 different cities.

I used the event as an excuse to explore Italy, the most recent map add-on. I must admit being a little disappointed, I didn't see any particularly recognizable city elements when going through Rome, Florence etc. The cities all felt quite generic.

No nice background for completing it unlike last time, but there is a paint job but I haven't tried it yet. You also get banners, but I always sell those (I have no idea why folks put junk all over their windshield).

Platform: PC
Duration: 10h
Times completed: Multiple

Completed the Germany 2018 special event, 10 deliveries to/from Germany and 10 different other countries.

My previously 100% explored Germany now has tons of little untraveled holes in it, you can really see how much they've been working on the map. And they're not done yet. Reward was 3 banners and the Brandenburg Gate, which I quickly sold.

Platform: PC
Duration: 9h
Times completed: Multiple

Completed the Christmas 2018 special event, 10 deliveries of special Christmas themed trailers to any cities.

I found that once you delivered a trailer, if you attempted to pick up a new delivery it often was just back to the city you just came from. So I did a bunch of teleporting around to Paris, Stockholm, etc, just to vary up the routes a bit. Mostly, I used this event to fill in some of France, which is still quite undiscovered since I first purchased it.

Platform: SNES Classic cool

Clocktime: Spent about 45 minutes playing through all three circuits with my brother-in-law on 50CC. Fun times!

Completion: We handily bested the competition in all three circuits.

Commentary: Not a lot to say about this classic. It has been a LONG time since I played the SNES original, but I did play it a lot as a kid, and it was a fun nostalgia trip to pick my favorite driver (Toad) and zoom around the courses.

The stages are all well designed, and it's easy to see why this became a powerhouse franchise for Nintendo. It was interesting to notice that the circuits are made up of 5 tracks (always four in later games) and the races are made up of five laps (always three in later games). This didn't end up feeling repetitive, because each track is more compact.

A creative and polished game with a lot of good ideas. Of course, compared to the later games, it is missing a few things (item variety, some sort of indicator so that you know how far ahead you are). Still enjoyable on its own terms, though.

This game is GORGEOUS!!! I spent roughly 11 hours playing this game to beat it. A good amount of it was spent exploring the crazy details Naughty Dog puts into the game and taking pictures with the photo mode. So beautiful and fun to explore.

The story itself was top quality as always however, I can honestly say that I disagree with the direction ND is taking with the series since Uncharted 4. Having binged the UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection earlier this year and then following it up with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. I am disappointed they are apparently moving away from the supernatural and mystical elements that made the first 3 games so much fun! I really wish they would not do that. It sort of, takes away the charm of the series from me to be honest.

But back to the game. Being able to play as Chloe and Nadine was a treat! These two leading ladies were a lot of fun to play. It is sad that their first outing was so darned short at around 5-10 hours of gameplay (judging from what others have said online). I would have liked to have seen more clues sleuthing, side characters like Cutter making appearances and etc.

India has a very rich history and I wish Naughty Dog spent more time using that history to pad out the game and give more screen time to Chloe and Nadine. The game felt like it was playing out the last chapter of a full Uncharted game, skipping the main lead up to the that chapter.

So, while the graphics are phenomenal, the characters very enjoyable, and a pretty good story, the lack of length with rich material to work with, lack of a signature aspect of the series, and not enough screen time for the two leading ladies leads me to give this game a 8/10. Maybe a 7/10. I just think they could have done more for this game in my honest opinion.

Below are just a few screenshots from my playthrough.

Picked this one up in the Steam Sale. It contains 50 puzzles, with less than a dozen invoking thought. Bit of a disappointment after Hexcells. More mathy and less logicy.

Platform : Windows PC
Time : 51 hours (7 hours in 2018)
First Time Beaten : Yes
Enjoyment : Equal parts awesomeness and grind

Completion Details - I played this through to 100% completion, earning all steam achievements, and collecting all 250 gold bricks, all 160 minikits, all 147 characters etc. etc.

Game Overview - It's a typical Lego game really... about 16 story levels (including the DLC), then lots of collectibles, minigames, missions, hub areas races etc. etc.
The story was fine.. the collectible stuff turned into something of a grind just to get to the 'end'.

VOI is tangrams with a twist. Whenever a piece overlaps another piece, a negative space phenomenon occurs, i.e. black becomes white and white becomes black again (if three pieces are stacked).

Other than that, the premise is the same. You are given a set design and some tangram shapes needed to complete the puzzle.

I played the Android version. It is completely free and contains 88 puzzles. I didn't find any puzzle too difficult. Time in game divided by number of puzzles is about 2 minutes each as an average.

Game does make you think about spatial interactions and negative space. Good time waster, but not much more.

A standalone expansion to Saints Row IV, where you play as someone other than "the boss" for the first time in the series. Instead, the boss is dragged into Hell by a cursed Ouija board, and his associates must save him while angering Satan.

The flying system is fun, and the dark fantasy style weapons (stake shotgun, lava rifle, insect swarm SMG) are even more ridiculous than the sci-fi armaments in SR4. It's kind of lame for the game to be set in yet another re-skin of the city of Steelport, but it's different enough to be worth the run through in this much shorter episode in the series.

Beaten for the first time? No.

This run was actually the introductory scenario with Katia, Pavle, and Bruno. I've never gotten around to beating that specific scenario, though I have survived multiple others.

Everything went pretty well until the last couple of days, when I was desperate for supplies let's be honest, I was trying to get the Graffiti achievement. I got Pavle and Katia both killed exploring the warehouse. I'm normally really careful with the characters; I've never gone a high violence route. I tried to sneak in, and while I did see the graffiti I needed for the achievement (just one left now) civilians, obviously, cannot rely on stealth to steal supplies from armed militants. Go figure.

After that, I mostly had Bruno and Cveta (who'd joined us several weeks prior) hang around the house. I had traps set up for meat, a little vegetable garden, and a secure house. Water was the biggest priority, because I'd looted most of the safe places that had components for filters, but I could usually cover it by trading. Just a few more days and the peacekeepers came.

This game means a lot to me, even though I have no personal connection to its cause (thank goodness). I don't have the "stories" mode DLC yet, just the classic version, but it's one of the best, most meaningful games I've played.

When I was working on the Infocom geeklist, I did a quick check to see which games are still available. I found that Zork: Grand Inquisitor is actually sold on Steam, so I got it during the sales (it isn't an Infocom game, but it captures the spirit of Zork reasonably well). It took a while to get it to run: using the standard Steam installation I got problems with the graphics and the mouse, which I found many users suffer from. However, I installed the SCUMMVM engine and ran it like that, and it worked perfectly.

I played this game about 10 years ago, but I found I still remembered quite a bit of it. That's why I needed only five hours to finish it. If you are new to the game, it might take you more, but I estimate no more than 10 hours or so, because almost all puzzles are pretty straightforward. There is a bit of pixel-hunting, which means you might need a hint if you suspect that you are missing an item -- that might very well be the case. In general, the game is pretty fair in dealing out clues, though.

I just need to remind you that you should save often. Basically, you cannot get this game into an unsolvable state, but you can die very suddenly. One wrong click and you are dead, and then you might find that you need to replay 15 minutes or so. That will go pretty fast, in general (most cutscenes you can interrupt), but it is still annoying.

The game isn't very expensive, and if you haven't played it yet, and want to get into a graphical adventure, I can give it a slight recommendation. Not a full one, as the cutscenes tend to be eye-watering.

Video Game: American Truck Simulator
Platform: PC

The Christmas package hauling event also applies to ATS, so to get all the rewards you need to play this one as well. This one took me longer because there are less straight through routes, and a couple of times there weren't any packages in the town I was in, so I had to drive to a nearby town.

Platform: PC
Duration: 10h
Times completed: Multiple

Completed 15 runs for the Big Sur highway cleanup special event. While thematic, this special event is a bit monotonous compared to most because you're continually returning to the same spot for every delivery. It's a nice road, but it gets boring seeing it over and over. I much prefer when the deliveries can be spread all over the map.

On the plus side, the roads are deserted, and you can just haul (heh) down them at way over the speed limit, using both sides of the road without worry. I felt like I was playing Test Drive back in the 80s.

There are some really tight spaces in this, several times I had trouble even picking up the trailer initially, getting around spare equipment just lying around in your way. The tough parking areas at the slide site are really tough, after a couple of them I switched to easy.

Commentary: Super Mario World is my favorite of main 2D Mario titles from the NES and SNES era.

What is there to say at this point? Lots of great level design, fairly easy for the first third and quite challenging for the last third. Vibrant, engrossing, creative, polished. I've always loved the way you have to look for alternate exits in each level to flesh out all of the secrets on the world map. I wish later 2D mario games had a world map as interesting as this one.

Excellent game.

SEGA 32X

Enjoyment: Moderate

I recently found a copy of Doom for Sega Saturn and I was really excited until I got it home and found out how awful it was. Playing the Saturn version is like trying to play Doom if you have glaucoma or you have a display that has been badly damaged in some way. This was especially disappointing since one of the other things that I thought about for this year was kicking things off with the SNES Doom, but then I played a few minutes of that and remembered that the controls are broken and that the game is garbage. And so, I ended up beating the 32X version of the game, which I revisit year after year.

One of my hardcore list games for the year is the full version of The Ultimate Doom and I wanted to have a good primer. Last year, I did the same thing and intended to beat the full version of the game, but just never quite got around to it. 2018 will be different, at least in that regard.

The 32X version is really Doom Light. It gives you the feel of Doom without the full experience. I cruised through the first 14 levels without any real problems but with enough challenge to keep things interesting. I made an ill-advised decision with a rocket launcher on the 15th and final level, however, and that derailed the whole play through. I then had to go back to the options menu and lower the difficulty to the minimum so that I could beat the last level while starting with no weapons.

I was originally going to post this game to my YouTube channel and share it here, but I have been having some difficulties trying to combine my AVI files into one complete video, so that is not happening for now.

Good battle animations with more detail than past games, makes use of more motion, backgrounds, pilot scenes. Character profiles and an archive of referenced events during conversations. Pilot ace unlock and unit bonuses when it has been upgraded enough help make pilots feel more unique, which is good for certain series where there are characters with very similar units. Bonta Kun stage is great. Some good music, but it gets repetitive for the length. First print had DLC promo code gives you a new scenario and two characters earlier and has them involved in the plot which would have expired if I had gotten it a few weeks later, so that sucks for people that buy the game now or later. Too easy, and I didn't even make use of the new system that lets you teach pilots any skills or rank up any abilities if you spend a new type of currency. Some translation errors, dialogue obviously given to the wrong person on screen, referring to skills by different names in unlock windows, referring to women as men a few times, a missing word every now and then, etc (not bad for the amount of text in these game though and for a more limited South Asian release). Game also really hates screenshots and videos, having a huge logo on the side of pictures and disabling the PS4 share feature entirely a few levels in.

First time beaten?: Yes

Some thoughts: So, Tower Defence meets FPS. I played through the base game maps, unlocking all of them, and I’m counting that as ‘beaten’. I really liked it, although oddly, on those instances where my enjoyment waned, I struggled to keep going. It was lots of fun but not deeply engaging. Specifically, I had a problem when I first encountered bobble-heads, who can only really be killed by guns. I wanted to play the game as tower defence; I was annoyed that the game was forcing me to focus on shooting things, which isn’t what I wanted to be doing, and stopped playing for a bit. The game was mostly flexible, but there was the odd bit of railroading like that. In the main, though – upgrading my towers, building fiendish mazes, and then just shooting stuff when the opportunity arose… it was all a good time. I’m going to keep playing a bit – try out some of the bonus maps, see how that goes. I like designing my own mazes a lot, so doing so with some new maps sounds like fun.

Zenge is a puzzle game in which you move puzzle pieces along lines and have to move them to specific positions. Along the way, you can change the size of pieces, rotate or mirror them, activate and deactivate certain lines, glue pieces together, and teleport them. You need these options as you cannot let pieces bump into each other. Once you succeed in moving all the pieces to their final spot, you get to see an artsy picture.

Overall, the game is not very difficult. There are 70 puzzles and I solved all of them in two hours. They varied in difficulty from easy to a bit less easy. Occasionally I had to think a little, but in general things were pretty straightforward. It is better than many other easy puzzle games, but I would not want to spend more than two hours on it.

Firewatch - PS4
First time beaten
Time Played: seemed like 3-4 hours

I picked this game up for $8 during the current Holiday Sale on the playstation store. I had heard lots of good things about it, particularly about its story. I'm always a sucker for a good story in a video game.

Firewatch falls firmly into the "walking simulator" genre of games, where it is more of an experience than a true game. But I'm okay with that.

What I will say about Firewatch is that is might just have the best voice acting of any game I've ever played. It really is top notch. However, never before have I gone from being so intrigued by a game, to being so thoroughly disappointed by it in so short a time. To avoid spoilers I won't explain why, but man, what a let-down.

I had high hopes for Firewatch, but even without those expectations, I feel I still would have been left wanting after completing it. I know there are lots of folks out there that love this game, but myself, I would not recommend it to anyone.
