Tracking my games for 2018, nearly all of them with my husband.

Potential for this to turn into a 10x10 Challenge, but no specific intent there, and (accordingly) it's the regular one if so. My husband's similar list in 2015 (itself largely comprised of games with me) is the inspiration for this one.

d10-1 1 January, specifically at about 1:15am after the NFL games finished. *insert bat emoji*

Lost 210-152 (or thereabouts, forget the exact score), in a weirdly long game in terms of time. Might have been AP happening, might have just been exhausted. In any case, Stephen created a military advantage through Julius Caesar, and used it to full effect in two midgame wars. I could have won the second by going all-in on resources, and was annoyed that I didn't, but did at least get a huge worker engine at the end with them that earned me points from an Era 3 hero.

d10-1 2 January, early hours. Played as West. Won in final decade end phase, one short of winning on foreign currency directly after pushing that late on (and playing rope-a-dope with the Solidarity card in my hand, letting Stephen build before delivering the Poland link attack) and setting up mass protests from the resultant living standards chasm with no socialists able to come in and clear it all up.

d10-1 2-3 January (started before midnight, finished after midnight). Played with Invaders from Afar and no other expansion. I had Saxony Engineering, and lost 81-59 to Stephen's Crimea Agricultural; not sure I felt quite comfortable with the attacking posture encouraged by Saxony, nor did I finish my second objective (which I could have done had I not realised he was able to finish when he did). Chalk this one up to him making far better use of his faction power, then.

d10-1 10 January early hours. Lost 56-53, as Stephen's big room blitz in the middle stages proved just about enough to compensate for how I finished the game with more gold and more rooms.

Definitely better than Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small in a straight-up comparison of base games. Stephen reckons that Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small – More Buildings Big and Small adds more extra variety than this base game has, but the crucial thing for me is that there actually is out-of-the-box variety between games of this, which Big and Small didn't have. In any event, we both prefer this mechanically to that, and this looks likely to be a game we play rather often and acquire an expansion for in short order after release.

d10-2 11 January early hours. Won 62-53, as I was the one who got some big rooms in the midgame. Notably, the Dungeon set me up to get walls and add the Secret Chamber. Stephen got the room that lets you play an extra room action with Undermining and Expedition, and promptly made lots of use of it (leading to some amusing exchanges as I consistently blocked him from taking both in one round), but it wasn't enough.
