So, I have developed a, er... 'American build' over the past 10 years. Puff white guy is a good descriptor. Many times I've said to myself, "I really should drop a few pounds these clothes are tight" - but nothing ever comes of it. So I was thinking about how I could actually do this... I read there's something out there called diet and exercise that supposedly makes you lose weight. I looked into both and neither sounds the least bit enjoyable.

WARNING: Snarky over the top humor mocking bad dystopian world teen movies is about to ensue with silly tone that apparently does not translate well to the internet or it's just my poor sense of humor, either way you've been warned! Read further at your own PERIL.

I was about to give up on my foolish idea of weight loss then an idea hit me -

WHAT IF I COULD SHARE THE MISERY?! I don't mean like writing a blog or something selfish like that I mean, literally make people absolutely miserable along with me.

Yea, but how? How to make sure others are miserable right along with me. Misery loves company. Right? Ah, a contest, a weight loss contest! but not a happy fun contest, oh no. If I'm doing something this awful then the contest will be a backstabbing, sabotaging, smack talking affair. This contest is about fear, not fun.... and what's the greatest fear of anyone on BGG? Losing their precious games!

So here's the contest:
You must lose 10 lbs in 5 weeks if your BMI is in the Obese range (in non pc terms - you are fat. I'm here)
You must lose 9 lbs in 5 weeks if your BMI classifies you as overweight
You must lose 8 lbs in 5 weeks if your BMI is normal ... why the hell are you entering this contest??? I guess that's your business

Use google to figure out your BMI.

What do you get if you achieve your goal? N O T H I N G* see below, now you might get something!
What do you think this is, some kind of weight watchers kumbaya?? Um, no.

HOWEVER, if you don't meet your goal you will be punished. You will have to give two of your precious games away to your fellow geeks, and you pay the shipping. Will they thank you? no, they will mock you.

Think of this geeklist as something from the BGG Mirror Universe .... or an analogy for the modern American workplace.

So here's how this works.
Your goal is to get other participants on this list to FAIL. If they fail they must give you a game from your collection. If they succeed you get NOTHING. If you fail you must give away TWO of your games - one to each of the next two people on this list.

Nuts and bolts
1. Figure out your BMI, determine how much you need to lose.
2 Select 2 of your games from you collection that you will sacrifice should you fail.
- The games should be in very good condition or new, and have a BGG rating of at least 6.0 . The better the game the bigger the motivator not to fail.

3. 'Add Item to the geek list' make it one of the two games you are risking
4. In the text include
- How much weight you need to lose (10, 9 , 8 lbs)
- You may post your starting weight if you would like, but that is not required.
- The name of your second game you are risking
5. if you didn't post your starting weight you must email it to me.

The contest will last FIVE WEEKS (35 days) from your first weigh in. First weigh in and final weigh in must be at the same time of day.
** That means the ending time of the contest will be different for everybody

- you must post at least two times a week how many lbs up or down you are.

REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN TILL SUNDAY 1/28/18

Anyone joining after that date is SOL.

At the conclusion of five weeks:
1. mail me your final weight (or post it).

Did you lose at least you goal? Screw you, you keep your games and those below you are pissed.

Did you FAIL?
If you failed the person directly below you gets to pick one of your two games. YOU are responsible to send the game to them. YOU are responsible for shipping.

The person two spots below you gets your other game.

If you are the last two people on the list you loop around to the people at the top - aka THE MAN who is keeping you down.

The fine print

1. Please keep it honest. If you can't actually give up your games if you lose then please don't participate.

2. USA and Canada Only. Shipping overseas is brutal. No one is required to ship overseas. Canada, yes, it's about as foreign as Wisconsin.

3. I am not a medical professional. The INTERNET says these goals are reasonable and we know everything you read on the internet is true.

Bad Luck to you! I want your games! devil

every participant gets 10 GG, I'll kick in up to another 1000 gg if we have more than 100 participants.
participant means someone who actively participates for at least two weeks.

One person that meets their goal at the end of the contest will receive all geek gold that was tipped to this geek list. That person will be chosen randomly by me (and won't be me).

the generous GG benefactor has a charity where he gives games to inner city youth in York PA. If you are a winner of a game at the end and you decide you don't want your winning game you can instead have the loser send the game to JROUNTREY for his charity.
