Inspired by Tom Vasel's list of types of games that he usually hates but he loves this specific one I'll make mine. Feel free to add yours though.

I swore off ANYTHING roll and move... but Talisman isn't just a roll and move game I like, I LOVE IT and is in my top 10 easily. It's crazy, chaotic and you seem involved in everything or they might be a chance you are. If you want to count this as a dungeon crawl or an RPG in a box as well. Talisman is also the exception to that rule as well. Plus this game has been a great gateway game for many people I know BECAUSE of the roll and move aspect.

I don't like CCGs. Dead CCGs that will NEVER be reprinted are just icing on the cake thanks to the free market and Magic being oddly resilient. However I just got Overpower and as flawed as it is. It's awesome in my book and I think with Disney's backing it could make a big comeback... granted I have no idea if that's even possible. Especially if they want to go with the route Fleer did.

Honorable mention for this is: Magi-Nation Duel This had SOME exposure like a TV show (bad as it may be) a game boy game AND a fair amount of expansions and sadly it died out. Awesome lore. Only not the example since I no longer own it.

I normally shy away from heavy war games and play vicariously through calendale. And I hate politics in general so I refuse to play anything remotely political. But I LOVE Kingmaker, I don't own it but every time I'm at a local smaller convention I look for the Kingmaker table as it's always a blast playing it.

Honorable mention is Tannhäuser however calling it heavy is kinda pushing it but it's a war game that I like so it's on the list.

I don't like puzzle or speed games. Don't hate them but I know I will lose and I don't like being rushed. However Doggy Go! is an adorable game that has both of those as its main mechanics.

The more I look at my list the more I realized I'm not that keen on deckbuilders. But since this game has superheroes, fun and I have played it correctly EVERY play unlike Ascension which is too ugly, light and oddly a semi coop in that you cooperate all the way through but you get separate points IIRC, Scott Pilgrim's Deckbuilding game which is total garbage and random and while I never played the DC deckbuilding game I heard is a solid system, the thematic disconnect is too big for me possibly (people also say it's too light but since I prefer lighter games that's a non-issue but I'm big on theme especially superhero games).
