Here is the list of games that are confirmed to be on the Play and Win table for Geekway 2018. As games arrive, additions will be made.Recommend
Geekway to the West will be held on May 17 to 20. There are still tickets available and you can get them here: https://geekwaytothewest.com/ so go buy one! Buy one now!!!
As Geekway grows, so does the number of PnW games needed and we are now expecting to require 700 games for PnW, with that number adjusted once ticket sales close on April 2nd.
Geekway spends a lot of time curating the list of games for PnW. We try to obtain newer games, focusing on releases in 2017 and 2018, but we also have a number of "favorites", reprints, anniversary editions and deals too good to pass up. In addition, a large contingent of games are donated, with many of those coming from Double Exposure, and others from individual publishers seeking exposure for their games.
Each entry will indicate who provided the game. Dont hesitate to thank Double Exposure and the other vendors who have generously helped make the 700 (+/-) PnW games possible.
Finally. Geekway continues to grow and with that, processes that worked well with smaller attendance, have trouble scaling up. Play and Win is no exception. The biggest change will be software to automate much of the process. You can read details of all the changes here:
Most importantly, Play and Win is still the same play, fill out entry, hope to win as it always was.
I have just finished ordering 100s of games and Geekway now has in its possession or on their way, 675 board games. Another 50 will be purchased this weekend bringing the total to our target of 725 or games. it sure is fun spending 1000s of dollars on board games but is more work than you might imagine.
700 is our actual target, but always a few problems that crop up and a few titles become unavailable. 725 just gives us some cushion to ensure there are enough games for nearly 3000 attendees. If no issues arise, then all 725 will be on PnW.
Unlock! was removed from PnW as we realized (not as soon as we should have) that its more of a play once game. Once you solve it, you cant really play it again, so would not be much of a prize.
