So, next week my wife (and gaming partner) will be out of town for four nights. While most of my time is likely to be spent (when not working) at the local pool hall, I thought I might take the time to delve into solo play of one or more of the games in our collection. Our collection is almost all co-op games, so there are several candidates. However, I really want to play the games where the solo play shines when playing just one character/player (as opposed to playing 2 or more characters/players all by myself).

If you think I should be playing something else, please list that game in the comments, but please - only items that are in my collection as listed here on BGG. I am not planning to buy a game just to play it solo during the four nights that I do not have anyone to play games with.

If you have any comments/suggestions, I would like to see them. I will start the list with the games that seem like great candidates for me.

NOTE: The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is off limits, as I don't want to mess up the decks that we already have for two-player games.

EDIT: Added poll

This one fits all of my criteria:

1. Very playable as a single spirit
2. Not a game that my wife loves. She will play it, but only using the Blitz scenario, as she does not like the Fast/Slow powers mechanism. So, if I want to try out other scenarios, I kind of have to do it solo.
3. A theme and game that I love and want to play more.

Again, plays differently as one player. Decisions are different, and I have an archer that has only gone into the dungeon once. All other plays have been with our warrior/mage combo.

I have the iPad app, and really enjoy it, but there is something about physically flipping the next card that the AI plays. Ramps up the tension a bit. This game is a lot of fun, and never gets played in our house except for as a solo game.

One of my favorites. It gets a decent amount of play in our group, but I always want to play it more. I have toyed with the idea of playing as three "players" to get each deck doing something different. This seems to violate my rule not to play several hands at once, but for this game I would consider it.

Mainly because we have not played this in AGES. I don't know that it plays much differently solo (aside from scaling), but I have been wanting to get this out on the table again for a while.

Another game that we have not played for a while, that may play just differently enough solo to be worth giving a shot to.

I have the KS version of this, and it never gets played. I may try to dig it out and get a play in.

Usually I would not try a game which has you play three characters in a solo game, but I decided to bring this one out, and I enjoyed it! I lost, but I did not feel that I had any trouble directing the team. Might try to get it played two-player once my wife comes back from her trip.
