I hope you enjoy these maps, they have been super fun to create, and really help in tracking board state during play.
I get these printed at a Staples, they will print on one page and also trim them down for you (if needed). If you print them at home they will typically fit on a few standard 8 x 11.5 letter pages.
I did not set up these files for a specific type of printing process. They are straight up full bleed .pdf files. How you get them printed is up to you. I put sizes in inches and millimeters on each map entry.
Can you redraw [blank] map?
Yes, and no. If it's a map that was designed by John Bohrer then yes, probably. If it was designed by another designer, I can seek permission, but cannot guarantee that the designer will respond, or grant me the permissions necessary to share a redraw of their copyrighted works.
Can I redistribute or sell these?
If your name is John Bohrer then yes, probably. If it's not, then no, sorry but you may only use these for personal print and play copies. I spent a lot of time making these, and while it was great fun, and I am freely sharing them, I'd really appreciate folks not try to profit off my fun times.
I found a mistake?
Please send me a GeekMail with the mistake you found so I can issue a fix. Thanks!
Why did you make these at all?
I recently found Age of Steam, and I fell head over heels for it's gameplay, but the Admin Boards being in black and white, and looking like a prototype really made the game hard to parse and teach.
So I redesigned the boards into a single board, and play tested it, it instantly improved the ability to parse the game state. I also noticed that it was difficult to read the map once it starts getting filled up with tiles since the map and track tiles use the same texture and colors, and the tracks don't stand out much. So I designed a map illustration system that allows the maps to look great but also be super usable and easy to read in play. The whole thing kind of snowballed.
I'm a AoS map designer, can you redraw my maps?
Yes, I can. Please Geek Mail me.
I'm a native [language] speaker, can I translate [n] map for other native speakers?
Yes and No. Yes, you can provide a translation of the map, and I will implement and release that translation on BGG. But no, you may not implement and/or distribute the translation yourself.
If you'd like to provide a translation for a specific map GeekMail me and we can discuss.
Can I hire you to work on my game?
Yes, you can. Send me a Geek Mail and we can talk.
