Does it count as a PnP if all I had to do was print out 80 pages of the rulebook and a few team stat sheets? If so, that was my 'work' for building Deadball 2.

I've been working on miniatures and have a new larger game board so the minis fit better. My original board was 27" x 14". The new one is 31.8" x 16.2". Just got it a few days ago, it's huge! But regular sized minis fit much better.

Both versions of game board here- Escape from New York - Graphic Redesigned Game Board

I've been designing 4 merc/80's style figures using the Hero Forge editor and we're printing them in our Ultimaker 3. Got 1 printed/painted so far. Got the design of 2 more ready and still working on the last one.

Here's a pic of the first mini on the new larger game board.

EDIT- Finished the 4 heroes!

I more or less immediately back every Button Shy Kickstarter for their print-and-play files. Sprawlopolis is no exception, and actually one I've been looking forward to for a long time. As always, these are easy builds--just some card fronts and backs cut and sleeved, with PocketMod rules (which despite making all the time, I can never quite cut correctly).

Of the Button Shy games I've played, Sprawlopolis might be tops, followed by Circle the Wagons and Avignon: Clash of Popes.

One of the two GenCan't finalists from the Button Shy PnP design contest. Easy peasy, and quite nifty in how the cards work with such a small package! Unfortunately, the PocketMod is incorrectly laid out in the file, so the rules are a bit wonky in card-form.

In the past, I’ve avoided games that make use of a standard deck of cards.
Cross posted from SGOYT

I’m just not interested in themeless games. This year in particular, it seems that the standard deck entries for the 2018 contest have themes and are really drawing me in

I love the look of anatomical drawings and so I put together a custom deck for Blood Donation.

Mini-review:
This game reminds me of a decktet game that I love called Aucteraden by Jack Neal. Trying to optimize card placement to make connections from card to card and working to create longer paths presents a real challenge. I found it to be a very enjoyable puzzle.

I'm looking on crafting SPQF when the Print and Play comes out from Grant. I've already made the player boards, box and victory chips .... I just need the card files (though I'm probably going to get those professionally printed).

Finished box and components inside.

I printed up the tokens for this back in December 2016 and pasted to thick wood bits, and made a paper board that I never mounted. Then I got a fabric board printed up last month, and realized I couldn't find instructions. I tracked them down from the original book and printed it up. Finally playable!

My family are big Zelda fans. Only partway through this large but not hard build, but it's already getting 'play'.

Board Game: The Legend of Zelda: Clockwork Realm

I found a set of 13 minis that comes with 3 types of Link, and one Zelda. In my game, I've decided in one world the princess is Link, and Zelda is the warrior, and thus, Princess Link (pink) comes to help Train Conductor Link (blue), pipe flute Link (painted red), and classic Link (green).

I used this white glue just to quickly let my son play, then fixed them up proper with a strong glue when they inevitably fell apart after 2 days play.

Put together the pnp of this one as I really enjoy Troyes. Curious to see how much the feel of Troyes comes through in this two player roll and write version.

13. Board Game: Potion Explosion [Average Rating:7.16 Overall Rank:429]
Board Game: Potion Explosion
I first played this game a while back, but only recently after gifting it to my daughter I started to really apreciate it.
It took us by storm on our holidays!
Between tabletop and pass and play on tablet (including its expansion) we played it over 30 times in the last couple of weeks.

After a while we wanted more so we bought the Fith Ingredient expansion for the tablet (we were abroad so the physical copy wouldn't get to us in time).
Then we wanted even more! More Potions, more Professors, please more!

It was then that I came up with the idea of making my own expansion with more Potions, more Professors and another kind of wild Marble.

I hand made the components, bought some greenish marbles and started play testing it.
Some games and tuning ahead I wrote the rules and we now enjoy it as our own twist to the game.

I'll try to upload a picture shortly Picture of the components uploaded! (4 new Potions, 9 new Professors, a new board and 12 greenish marbles).

I contacted the publisher and the designers as to know if I can propose it as a Fan made Expansion with its entry to BGG database and share the files.
For now only the rules are done. If I get the approval I could use some help for the artwork as I'm more into designing mechanics than to artistic aspect of it.

I have miniturized Travel Ticket to Ride so that the board is a 4x6" photograph and the train counter cards are 2x3" business cards, then I used Scotch Self-Seal Laminating Pouches to laminate them for wet-erase marker usage.

Because I am all about miniaturizing games for travel, I'm currently working with nanDeck to miniaturize the destination tickets and the train color tickets so that hopefully everything (minus the wet-erase markers) can and will fit into a greeting card envelope for easy travel.

Then I'm going on a train on Sunday and I intend to press my seat mates in to playing Mini Travel Ticket to Ride with me for the ultimate in meta. Muahahaha.

Game: Royal Espionage by Rachel Bruner

Cost: Free

Build Difficulty: Easy, 12 poker size cards, 39 mini poker size cards, a US letter game board (mount on cardboard), and options for square or circle tokens (very thoughtful!)

Played: Yes, this is a fun game!

Notes: Not only is this a lovely, well designed game, it is also a thoughtfully designed PnP build, by a veteran PnP builder. I used cardboard from Fedex envelopes as the card core("Fedex core"), and I really like how they turned out. Had issues with the circle tokens, but that's more a reflection of my lack of skill and proper tools to execute them. Aside from the tokens, I am very happy with my build, and with this game!

Game: a very early prototype of my 2nd original game, Wings of Valor

Cost: free

Build Difficulty, Easy, just 54 cards right now. Eventually I will have player boards and require some eurocubes. But I plan for the whole thing to have a small footprint and be playable on airline tray table.

Played: Kind of. Still really trying to figure out game flow. Still in alpha internal playtesting.

Notes: Check my WIP thread for the back story.

Inspired by James, I decided to prepare my own copy of Hikingdomino. It is all about exploring the wilderness and spotting different wildlife species. All the icons come from the Noun Project and the map images form the French Géoportail. By the way, the latter is a great website to know if you ever plan to visit France. Hit the "Cartes" tab in the upper left corner to choose from the list of different map types (road, hiking, vintage, ...), then zoom in or out to set the right scale.

And here is the end of a two player game with my son. He set off early for his last day's hike and was lucky enough to come across two bears in that huge mountain forest. The final score was 118:111.

Board and components drawn by hand onto paper then stuck to the back of a cereal packet. The board is A6/postcard size so it's about half the size of the print version.

I changed the end-game scoring, as it seemed far too swingy (roll a d6 for each fixed ship part= that's your score.) Instead, I've changed it to "get a point for each ship part fixed, each piece of food/resources you own and each item you've crafted."

Then on the reverse of the board is...

Both good little games, although I think I prefer Planet Run.

Game: Infection Express (aka Pandemic Express)

Build Difficulty: easy, just four hexagonal pieces of a modular game board. Longer if you build the Europe expansion, as I did, and tougher if you build the custom dice, as I intend to.

Played: yes, and I like it!

Notes: this was my first build to use adhesive-backed vinyl floor tiles as a component, and I really liked it! It was not hard to cut with scissors, and creates a tile that feels very substantial and deluxe. I will be using this component in more builds. This is my 50th build!

Edit: Also built the Europe expansion, which features optional extra rules and challenge.

Edit: my custom dice. First time to use blank dice, first time to use a Fiskars ShapeCutter to more closely and accurately cut the shapes (freehand) for the dice faces. Happy with the result.

One of my favorite game entries in this year's solo contest is Rest In Peace by Thomas More. If you haven't seen it be sure to check it out, it's fabulous!

Well John Kean made another game based on RIP (with Thomas' permission) called Rest In Peace: The Asylum.

That doll image in the logo totally creeps me out! I can't stomach horror but I do like some suspense now and then and this version of RIP scratches that itch!

I just had to print and play this game, so I did! I printed the board and tokens on label paper and spray sealed. I attached the gameboard to magazine board and the tokens were folded in half with black cardstock core.

Here's my first setup of Rest In Peace: The Asylum.

And here's game end where I got trapped in the lower stairs (more details are in the WIP thread linked above):

RIP is one of my favorite entries in the solo contest so far and The Asylum has now joined my list of favorites! I adore this game! Just the right amount of spookiness without being gory.

I love the artwork, the item tokens, all the options, the overall gameplay, and even the die rolls. So fun! I'm super excited to play it again.

Printed off thus intriguing roll and write where player(s) are attempting to build the best cathedral. Players actually draw the cathedral as they build it. I’ll post a picture of a game after I get a chance to play it

Well, I finally got a solitaire play of this in tonight...here’s a picture of the end result...it felt a bit too easy to achieve the highest rating, but I could be doing something wrong...note my score should be 212 as I forgot to score my architect plans.

Part of the Solitaire PNP contest 2018 -

Flung this together, but I'm want to make a better copy once the designer has finalised it.

It's a very good resource management, story-telling game. Give it a little imaginiation and the story-telling aspect really draws you in - I found myself watching a proper Plantagenet-era tragedy unfold before my eyes. Give it a go!

Some friends and I came up with the concept of a dice rolling pirate game a few months ago and I've finally gotten round to making the prototype. It prints to 2 sheets of paper - one for the player cards (1 each) and 1 for the stickers for the custom dice (I'm actually laser burning mine on wooden dice) players also use standard dice to record their crew size (how many dice they roll) their ship's health and their loot (buried and un-buried).
The files as I have them at the moment make for a 4 player game but you could easily print out an extra sheet of player cards for more opponents.

In Dicey Waters, each turn a player rolls a number of dice according to their crew level. The effects of these are then applied. The first to gather a previously agreed amount of loot is the winner.
